As a G.I. in Germany, two years later, I was dragged along to a Marillion concert during the Misplaced Childhood tour, and I was totally amazed at how everyone knew every word to every song the entire show. Everyone was singing! 35 years later, I am still in love with Marillion!

I was there (yes, I am THAT old!) Fish was drunk and the show was amazing. Thank you Fish, thank you Marillion, for filling my life with your great music! And thank you @Live Stone for posting the concert here. I still own the copy of the hr3 broadcast of this concert, on a very, very old cassette tape. One of my most treasured belongings
Kann ich sehr gut nachvollziehen, habe das Konzert auch noch als Kassette, aufgenommen vom HR3 - "Fish was drunk" ? Kaum zu glauben 🤣🤣😂 - sehr gut zu hören bei seinen Ansprachen der Marke "rumpy pumpy" on the strand 🙂 Beneide dich, dass du beim Konzert warst, hatte leider erst 1986 das Glück, Marillion live zu sehen (Live in Mannheim th-cam.com/video/QYXrGhM971U/w-d-xo.html) und Queen war auch dabei - tolles Line-Up - war schon eine geile Zeit mit "Fish" 🙂
@@PCGSW In Mannheim war ich auch! Komisch, dass wir uns nicht gesehen haben :D Was für ein unglaublich heißer Tag und gefühlt gab es ungefähr 3 Wasserhähne. Gude, alde Zeit!
@@ankefo5744 Haha, verrückte Vorstellung, sich in dem Gewusel tatsächlich hätte getroffen zu können :-) Oh ja, der Tag war echt heiß, kann mich noch soo gut daran erinnern. Schön, dich auf diesem Weg kennenzulernen - mal neugierig gefragt, --- ich war ja mit der "Hogarth"-Ära anfangs auf Kriegsfuß ... höre die Alben inzwischen aber auch gerne - Brave bspw. finde ich sehr gelungen - der Film dazu haut mich immer wieder um. Und Fish himself ... naja, seine Stimme hat ja echt gelitten, aber Songs wie "A Gentleman's Excuse Me" th-cam.com/video/3BL1EgIJ_Lo/w-d-xo.html bleiben nach wie vor auf meiner Playlist :-) Liebe Grüße, Stefan W.

Ich war auch dort - 83 in Baunatal, dann November 85 in Mainz und Juni 86 in Mannheim. Hab euch aber nirgends gesehen ;-) Das Konzert in Baunatal wurde live im Radio übertragen (HR3, glaube ich) und meine Schwester hat es damals für mich aufgenommen. Leider ging das Tape irgendwann verloren - umso schöner, dass man es hier nochmals hören kann ... Angesagt wurden sie damals vom Moderator in Baunatal als "Die Gruppe der Zukunft: Marillion!!!" Und das wurden sie dann ja auch ... schöne Erinnerungen!

This was my first "listening" to Marillion, when the concert have been broadcasted here in HR3-radio station. From that day on, I am still in love with their music, whether with Marillion-after-Fish or the Fish-solo-albums, actually the new single "Weltschmerz" is great again :-)

Interesting to listen knowing this was Jonathon Mover's only show with Marillion. Saw Mover with Joe Satriani and he was amazing. Obviously, it didn't work out for him with Marillion but the door opened for others.....
Fish had issues with him and did not like his style. Jonathan is more a fusion drummer than a pure prog drummer. And, at the time, Fish literally choose who could and who could not be in the band. But yes Mover remains a good drummer ( especially on Satriani's "Surfing With The Alien" ).
Was schon gleich "negativ" herüber kommt ist die fehlende Ansage für das Marillion Konzert. Allein die ist für dieses Bootleg Historisch (gab es damals als Live Konzert bei HR3 German Radio Broadcaster) und "episch"...

He's a really good drummer ( Satriani..). Fish couldn't stand him, it's as simple as that !!
