I think you guys are on the right track. I've been retired for 3 years and now I have the time to sit in the backyard and create bio-mass fuel from shredded newspaper and saw dust from my table saw and planner. It burns pretty clean and a much better way of using junk mail and old personal papers, than sending them to the land fills.
Wow! can ya imagine that? Actually MANAGING the Forest! Great Idea, thinning & selective Logging is what I would do if I owned a big Forest. Very cool.
I think an oger fed heating boiler is the answer as they are cheap because they take much less processing . Wood chipping process is under stood . Their are large Forestery body's all over that have the same probelams with resource that is slash . It is up to them to guarantee a price for the chips and to create an efficient boiler.
I work for a company that makes engineered laminate flooring. We have alot of waste and it ends up going to a landfill. I'm talking 4x8 panels by the thousands. I wanted to create sawdust from them panels and make pellets or logs. Where do I begin or have you come up with a viable solution to slash issue. Naturally the moisture has already been reduced from creating a manufactured product already. Just looking to help our cause here in western pa.

Here in Arkansas sawmills are closing because we have too much sawdust etc. This is an idea worth exploring as a solution. Thanks

This is such an amazing idea. How inspiring...
Great job guys what a good idea.
For the binder u guys can use cow dung that is about 60%dried or how big and how dry is the chips
All they would have to do is mix shelled corn with it , corn adds a lot of BTU s and also adds lignon .

And here, 9 years hence, biomass and pellets are being passed over for solar and wind.
Stupidity.
