On average a mile is 2,250 steps so since you walked 14,054 steps that means Solitude is only 6.25 miles away from riften. All of Skyrim is about the size of Queens, NY.
And that is 6,25 miles on roads, not in a straight line. In a straight line it's a lot less than that. All the more impressive how they managed to make the map feel so massive.
Come here from an IGN article. Love how chill your vibe is and that you don't go over the top with edits to make this "more interesting" because it doesn't need it to be interesting! Simple goal. Simple testing. Subbed 😄
I looked this up before. Seems the general consensus is that Skyrim IRL would be somewhere between the size of a city in New York, to the size of Poland and to the size of Canada. I'm going with somewhere between Poland and Canada, because of all the different climates it has, as well as how laughably easy it would be to overwhelm it in a war. You can't cram that into 14.5 miles or whatever.
It's kind of funny how your failed attempts kind of mirror a player's first experience trying to find their way in the game. Or at least it mirrored mine. When I was supposed to meet Jarl Ballin for the first time in this game I somehow ended up in Raldbthar instead lmao

Yep! My Fitbit said it was right at about 10k, or 6.2 miles
"I envy you. Getting to walk the 14 000 steps to Solitude"
-Jarl Balgruff as he's going to sleep.
imagine getting an ign article
Ah, that's where people are coming from 😅

Lol, pretty wild. I actually love(d) traversing bascially everywhere in Skyrim with just using the roadsigns!
It's so much more immersive! Now if only the vanilla maps had roads too...

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
Same here, mad respect for the way this was straight to the point. Subbed.
I like the journey of trial and error lol :3
Haha yeah, it took a total of 5 hours while live to accomplish this, not to mention a couple hours of learning and practicing the route 😅
there's people that do this in VR with treadmills, nakita fajitaa and neverforged to name two good vid though, they don't speed theirs up lol
Interesting! I'll have to check it out. This setup is definitely much cheaper 😁
Glad this was in my recommended!
Glad you liked it!

That's so interesting!
You should definitely do red dead 2
I probably will eventually! People want me to do some more step counts of various places in Skyrim first 😅
That's amazing! I wonder if this would work on Skyrim VR?
It should! The app just presses W for you when you walk in place
@@ShakeMistake That's amazing! I'll try that, thanks!
I would love to see how many steps it would take to go from The First Step grace, to the Forge of the Giants in Elden Ring
Elden Ring has been a common request! I'll definitely have to do it sometime 😆
@@ShakeMistake If so, you have my full attention. Absolutely cannot wait to see it :D

Getting lost, but wandering long enough to still get to the right place. It's the Skyrim experience 🤷♂️
Sadly, Stepl isn't compatible with my Samsung phone. Darn! I was really hoping to give this a try. Seems like a blast!
I've been talking with the developer and it may be getting updated soon. Stay tuned!
Очень маленькая карта, если перенести в реальный мир.
Конечно, в ней же деревня Рорикстед, это по сути 4 дома, а города из 10-15.
Thanks for watching!
I was interested but Stepl needs an update, my Google play says it only works for an older version of Android.
I've been talking to the developer about this. Hopefully we can get an update soon!
@@ShakeMistake Do you know if this app can be used with PlayStation and Xbox?
Unfortunately not, sorry. It only connects to a computer
I'd love to do something like this but I do not have the technical know how to do anything like it.
Give the app a try! I made a guide about it on my last video.
And did the tall Hrothgar climb up the mountain?
I did!
This app isn't supported anymore. How did you get it working?
I'm using an old phone...
why were you over complicating it? just check you freaking map
I was trying to follow roads, which aren't marked well on the Vanilla map 😅
dawg how tf do u not know the world of skyrim and ur a gamer lol
I just never played it before! I always felt like I needed to beat Morrowind and Oblivion first 😅
