It's pretty much a platform you can host online courses and charge for them, it is not a community site. With so many free forums for groups and communities sites like this are cashing in on all the ppl who want to make a career online.
The main focus of the Mighty Network platform is community. That is how the platform started. Support for courses was added next. I have found the platform to offer a better alternative for my online work than free forums. Both have good uses - it depends on what you would like to do.

Good question. This video was created before a big shift in the Mighty Networks platform. There is no longer a home space in a Mighty Network. There doesn't need to be a space that all members of a network belong to - but there can be. Question- I have come across something called the Mighty Network Subscription Fee (which is 2%). Does mighty networks take 2% of all transactions in addition to the 2.9% Stripe cost?

Im not here to do a course for people, I just want to make a space for justified free speech, huh. As well as shameless self promotion for members. I want a site that can be taken over by its member, id rather not pay the bill, or charge subscription, I want to post ads 1st and foremost

The Mighty Network platform doesn't use that revenue model. There aren't ads. What you are describing sounds like it would fit better on Facebook.
