    I as well had a kink in my ureter that started to bother me at 25, I had a backed up left kidney many times before they figured out what it was. I had open surgery for it where they took the piece out and reattached it. I am now 44 and have not had a problem since. I'm am forever greatfull for my surgeon🙏

      Such good news! Where did you have the procedure done? I'm here in Phoenix. Recently diagnosed with hydronephrosis at nearly 50 yrs old.

      I have just been diagnosed with the exact same thing, the king is stopping the drainage. I’m waiting now for an appointment for my op. Apparently I’m having the robotic procedure. I’m 62 so hoping after this I’ll have no more problems in the future 🤞🤞

    I have the same thing in my left kidney. I’m getting robotic Pyleoplasty surgery to repair the blockage in my kidney, and will also be in the hospital for 2-4 days due to other health issues myself, so I know about this. I’m getting my surgery in 2 weeks and this is awesome! I’m so glad she’s feeling better now! Congrats on your full Recovery Paige!!

      I definitely can relate 😌... I'm going through this since 15 years now..... It's getting me scared everytime.... I only underwent a surgery fir kidney stones- left kidney that was the PCNL surgery... Rn I still have my left kidney giving me death pains every time

  • @Mixedfairydust
    @Mixedfairydust 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I have the same exact thing and had the same exact surgery. Had tons of nephrostomy tube placements over the years since the age of 14 until 28. The only difference is it's on my left side. Glad she's doing well..

    • @mesinkafernandes6839
      @mesinkafernandes6839 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here🥺but i haven't under gone any surgery for it yet, it just keeps catching infection time and again... I had 3 kidney stones size -16mm , 12mm and 9mm (that time i had a surgery called PCNL - and it went great, but no one can figure out if I had the swelling (dr says it's a blockage) since birth, or after that or if it's because of the stones... The pain gets unbearable for me, eventually I get high fever around 104 ° and above it, I feel giddy and vomitty because my pressure just keeps going high and low.. I'm just scared of my life because everytime I feel I'm okay now the pain kicks in so fast, always at night or early morning 😌..... I'm stressed

    I had this surgery 3 weeks ago, I went 29 years not knowing I had it then an Ultrasound and CT scan revealed it. I had a couple small complications after surgery but was eligible to return to work 2 to 4 weeks afterwards. I took 4 weeks out of an abundance of caution but could have been back after 2. The surgery went very well and the pain was managed effectively with meds.

      @@Vanillawaffer07 for me they found the UJP obstruction when they were checking me for fatty liver which I have a family history of. The kidney showed up in the background of the ultrasound and I was immediately referred to a urologist. My first test the Renalgram came back clean but the CT scan revealed my left kidney would take 1-2 hours longer to drain than my right kidney. I was booked for surgery 3 weeks after that test.

    I had an unknown case of hydronephrosis for 13 years, my kidney had swelled up to 2 times the size. I skipped school for one day because I felt a tension in my left side. The next day, I was home alone. All of a sudden this pain started, it kept getting worse until I had to crawl on the ground to move. Even if it's not a well known problem, it doesn't mean it's weak

      George one of my kidneys is swollen too and it has and obstruction. I found out when I went to the ER for severe stomach and side pain and they did a CT scan with contrast and they recommended that I see a urologist. My urologist wants to put a stent. I am so scared. The side effects of stents are fever, chills, nausea, blood in urine, infections, the risk of dislodging and puncturing other organs and other side effects, which sadly I had to look up and google and watch TH-cam videos and find out myself. My doctor never even cared to tell me any of this. I have already been through six major surgeries and I am not ready to go through this pain. How are you dealing with the swelling in your kidney?

      No it doesn't however some people go there whole life without issues. I'm 36 and have had this condition all my life also but was totally unaware of it until March of last year. I have had problems with abdomen pain most of my adult life. My pain has been always at it's worse when I was having my period so I just ignored it really. Since 2015 I've have episodes of horrendous pain. Last year it got so bad my partner called an ambulance and I went to hospital. I had an ultrasound and my kidney condition was diagnosed.
      Since then I've had a CT scan with contrast and a renogram to determine how bad my kidney is functioning. My right kidney is functioning at 16%, my left kidney is normal. I'm currently on the waiting list to have my right kidney removed.
      I would suggest to find a good urologist to monitor your baby.
      Hope all goes well and he/she doesn't experience any problems.
