I got to tell you. It’s been a year since I was introduced to these tires and finally put them on my bike three days ago. They are absolutely fabulous and I do mean fabulous. I could say I’ve been riding on winter tires for the last few years and now I’m riding on all season radial tires.
Lots of tire options currently on the market but I speak *highly about the Corsa Pro’s. IMO, Vittoria nailed it with these! I’ve recently purchased a set of Pirelli Reteo’s and I’m interested to see how the roll. We shall see, 😎 #RobbArmstrong
I used to ride Corsa control tubulars, they were superb tubs, I never punctured on them and they were just superb to ride on, they felt fast and comfortable.
The pros have a thin clear rubber layer over the cotton case to help prevent porosity where sealant could previously leak through. The Pro’s being cotton cased, are more supple than the NEXT, as the NEXT are a vulcanised construction like the GP 5000’s which they are marketed against. I had no issues mounting and installing the NEXT’s in 34mm on Campy Zonda wheels. Seated with a regular floor pump. I managed to get a set (419/1000 worldwide) of the limited edition Giro Pink walled Corsa Pro’s. They are truly supple!
great video man, I gotta check out the Corsa Pro Controls, we need that extra tread/protection around here but yeah, these just look soooo good, the graphics look gorgeous!!! Been riding Corsas for years, love em!!
I just had my first ride on 28mm Corsa Pro Controls and they felt light and fast (aka amazing), if it was a blind test I would have assumed I was riding on the regular Corsa Pro. I did have a 10mph tailwind to start but these still felt like they spun up super fast compared to other tires I've been using (including the N.EXT) and I set about 10 PRs on segments I ride fairly often. I had Pirelli P Zero TLRs (not the Speedcores) on before these and the difference was immediately noticeable, much more supple and comfortable at the same pressure (65psi) but that's to be expected with the 320TPI casing I suppose - I just hope they can survive the roads I ride on for a couple of thousand miles. Bicycle rolling resistance will be posting a review of the Controls at some point and I'm guessing they'll be somewhere around 11 (maybe 12) watts of resistance at higher pressure with less of an increase in resistance at lower pressures than the previous versions and certainly less of an increase than the Pirellis, which is IMO that tire's only glaring weakness. BTW if you don't have an air compressor or canister then getting these tires to inflate and have the beads lock on wide tubeless rims might be damn near impossible, better to have a bike shop install them. They went on my rims (Bontrager RSL 51s) much easier than I was expecting and felt loose in the rim channel, a lot like Veloflex tires, I had new rim tape installed as well and there was no chance of inflating them with a track pump.
iReally want the Pro Controls!! 🥹 but I agree, the Corsa Pro’s in general are NOICE! I didn’t have any issues getting mine to seat and for the bead to lock. I have a *charge pump, which works wonders. I’d like to hear more about those Veloflex tires!! I’ve been eyeing those and interested to know/hear how they run. When you were running the Veloflex, what was your full setup? (Tire Width, Rim Width, Tubeless, Clincher, Tire Pressure) I’m *super curious about it. #RobbArmstrong
@@RobbArmstrong1 Bicycle rolling resistance posted the numbers for the Controls and this one actually performs worse than the previous version somehow, less puncture resistance, higher rolling resistance at lower pressures and less rubber used but somehow they weigh about the same. I don't know if they got a tire from a bad batch or Vittoria just royally screwed the pooch on the new Controls but I'm extremely surprised and disappointed with the test results. Apparently they are using a different compound for the Control and it only marginally improved the puncture resistance on the tread over the Corsa Pro but the sidewall results are essentially the same but again the rolling resistance numbers are terrible. I do like the way they ride and I'm still setting PRs (the tan sidewalls really do look good too) but I wish I got the Corsa Pro or the new Speedcore P Zeros instead. I suppose if your lucky and don't get any flats the Controls will last a good bit longer but I won't be buying them again. I tried the Corsa Evo in 28mm and the Corsa Race in 25mm tubeless tires on Bontrager RSL 51s, 23mm internal, 30.6 external. They both rode nice and have great puncture resistance on the tread but not great on the sidewalls so of course I got sidewall cuts on both Corsa Races and the Evos would not inflate again after I took them off to clean and replace sealant. Tried replacing the rim tape, air canister at 140psi and my 5 gallon air compressor at 150psi but the tires just stretched too much. Even installing them the first time I was doubtful they would inflate as they are so easy to get on the rim and the bead was very loose in the rim channel, more so than the Controls. To me they aren't worth the effort as there are too many really good alternatives now. I haven't tried that many brands but that DT Swiss rim tape is the best I've used, Bontrager rim tape is also excellent but I'm pretty sure it is rebranded DT Swiss tape as Bontrager use their hubs. Muc-off rim tape is pretty good too and super easy to install but I think the DT Swiss is better., the Muc-off seems to lose its grip sooner and sinks into spoke holes more than the DT.
@@RobbArmstrong1 my dude this pass Saturday when I was getting ready for a ride and was inspecting my tires, sure enough the rear tire had a tear in the bead now I am looking to buy a new rear tire, this happen before on Memorial Day weekend of this year and it’s happening again. I really like the way it looks on my trek madone SLR, I wonder if the newer tires are better more durable. I have the tan walls Corsa Pro. I run 90psi in my tires.
That’s crazy that it keeps happening! If you like the *TanWalled look, the new GP500 AS-TRs may be an option for you. The GP’s are definitely more durable than the Corsa’s. The prices have come down a bit as well. #RobbArmstrong GP5000 CreamWalled 👈🏽 amzn.to/46LhIO6
What sealant do you use? Have you used the Vittoria universal sealant? I received my Corsa Pros in the mail and now I'm thinking if I should have gotten the Contro versions instead 😅 I will be riding them this weekend and hopefully they're good. The side walls feel thin 😖
The sidewalls are THIN!! 😆 Welcome to the tubeless life, 😎 I used Vittoria’s sealant before but I don’t prefer it. I like Orangeseal better. You’ll love the Corsa Pro’s. I’ve adjusted my tire pressure to 58PSI and it’s even better now‼️🙂 #RobbArmstrong
Did covering the protector on the tan walls keep them clean after a while? What's your experience after you tested it? thanks a lot Ok i've watched the video and you metioned that it worked. Did you ride in the rain thou? Because most fo the grime come from the rain and mud
You have me now thinking about making the purchase. My recent wheel purchase was the Next and my experience like yours is they are hard to seat . Making it worse is my sealant that initially can't be injected via the value(Silca). The Pro's are some 50% more expensive. Awaiting your ride review
If it has your *StampOfApproval then I kno I'm headed in the right direction!! We hav a Memorial Day GroupRide scheduled tomorrow. It'll be the first ride. I'M SUPER EXCITED for it!! 🙂 #RobbArmstrong

Are all corsa pros in the markt clincher compatible? Bikeinn just says tubeless but the photo says tube/tlr.
