I've been riding a cheap 2015 Trek, aluminum frame with Shimano Claris, for 5000 miles now. Really itching to upgrade to the Allez Sprint. I've test ridden a few carbon bikes, and man my frame is soooo flexy compared to those.

I enjoyed your content. Now, a new subscriber! I ride a Specialized Tarmac SL8, which is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden! It's fast, relatively light, and holds speed extremely well. This summer while on a cycling holiday in Italy for one week in conjunction with the Tour de France in Italy for the 1st 3 days, I rented a Pinarello F equipped with 105. There were 3 groups -- A, B, & C. I rode witht the As to give you some context. Fiist, It is an exceptionally good looking bike! Secondly, it rode very well, especially climbing! The "take-off speed" of the "F" was subjectively a bit slower than the SL8 (perhaps by a millisecond or two) and the steering was more muted, that is, not as sharp as the SL8. This might be due to the different geometry of the frames. On the "F" more of my weight was on the front end, lending to a more aero, racing position. Perhaps the extra weight over the bars makes the steering feel mildy perceptibly slower, but not sluggish to be clear. The steering was precise and and crisp, just not as crisp as the SL8. Of note, I own and travel with a Specialized SL2 which is very responsive, light, and comfortable as well, though not as comfortable as the SL8 which has 28s. The "F" was very comfortable in its own right and I had no issues on rides that averaged 50-75 miles per day in hilly/mountainous terrain. I did take my saddle with me (3d printed specialized) which is my favorite and most comfortable saddle ever. I think Robb, however, beats me to by the nose of the saddle regarding the number of saddles he owns! Keep the rubber-side down and continue to enjoy our beautiful sport. When I'm in the Texas area I'll reach out to join a group ride or two.
