Absolutely right. TM makes the most amazingly performing supermoto bikes too. The French National supermoto team of two riders just won the supermoto national competition for the 4th time in a row in september 2018. Amazing bikes truly and I'm so proud and glad to own a TM bike.
my buddy had a 144 kit in his YZ back in 2000. way more bottom and mid, and a bit more up top. made it easy to go fast. no one knew he had a 144 during the season.
You guy's have to sort out a light weight microphone for Pinger's That cat's forearms are crazy. All that mic holding must be hard work! Also that TM sounds like a 250 (sick).
My buddy had a 2006 tm 300 and the chassis was kindof a bummer but the engine was like no 2 stroke ive ever ridden. It almost felt like a bone stock carbureted 450 torque wise then came on through the midrange almost like a kx500 man the thing just stood up and carried the front wheel 4 inches off the ground all the way through 5th gear.
And the 125 TM SMR which runs on the exact same engine as the MX (but the different gearing with the MX gears being shorter), makes around 42 hp. EVEN MORE POWERRRRR!
Justin F ya man..they made a few chain guides and said ..hey let's make the rest of a bike..how hard can it be...and within a couple days they had an entire line up of bikes....true story
Support and parts is great now, you can get any part delivered to your door just as fast as you can get a Honda part from Bike Bandit or whatever. I know, I do both.
A 144cc bike is pretty much 100% pointless. It's a 125cc bike with more power... but less than a 200cc or a 250cc. Of course it weights slightly more than a 125cc bike, probably to the point where the difference with the smaller bike is a second per lap or so. If you ever want to race this bike will put you in the 200cc or 250cc class where the bigger bikes will probably murder you. Until most races allow 144cc to race against 125cc 2-strokes and 250cc 4-strokes they're the stupidest size possible. Probably even worse than the 300cc 2-strokes in American MX (in enduro and in Europe they have their place)!
Diego Ruiz or buddy you can race a LWT-2 class (86-200cc) and this bike could defiantly shred! And it probably at most only 2-3 pounds heavier then a 125.
the majority of buyers of MX bikes never race, and the vast majority never race in some league where the rules are so strict that they'd outlaw one of these bikes from whatever Lites class. so there's that.
cbh148 I just see it as a middle step nobdy asked for or nobody needs. A bit like superminis in a way. There is not that much of a gap in horsepower from 85cc to 125cc, it is stupid to fit a class there. Same goes for 300cc 2-stroke bikes, either make them grow to like 350cc or just get a 250cc 2-stroke. Racing regulations have made too much of a mark in dirtbikes for the average folk. Back in the day, when the big class was almost open, we had stuff like 360cc 2-strokes and that was fairly cool but it was more powerful than a 250cc but not as crazy/stupid as a 500cc. Now nobody builds anything over 300cc 2-strokes because nobody allows them to race. Almost all dirtbikes sold to the public exist because some championship allows them to race. The only oddballs are bikes like the KTM 690 Enduro R (yes, 690cc 4-strokes for trails and gravel roads), everything else is made to modify and race somehow somewhere.

Mmmm 🤔 strano, visto che di TM nei campionati cross non se ne vedono molti, a maggior ragione vincenti.

Damn that thing sounds crisp! Love when he's revving it and it's zoomed in on the silencer.

For a little bike it seems like it runs really good whoever jetted it did a really nice job.
always loved TM's
125 weight with extra power has to be a good thing. Basically this is the modern equivalent of a factory 125 back in the day !
Bad ass bike! Really like those tm bikes great review!
Man you were pulling on the thumpers up those hills.
love that sound..never, ever gets old. please do some resto vintage vid rides, like maybe a 501 square barrel? thanks.
tjay damn this is fast for a 144 holy jesus

Cool bike! 2 strokes for life!!!!!!!
Tm are very fast quality bikes. Had an enduro 125, was the fastest 125 ever. Give em a try!

i wish the rolling noise pollution would clear off so we could hear the braaapp without those droning sheep mobiles in the background
Sleepy .Time noise pollution?
Luke Paul
that correct term for fourstrokes
Hahahaha
Sounds crisp !!
love this series of Vids, guys!!
the looks and sounds beaut!
It's looking nice, could you do a supermoto build on the new crf 450 r? :)
buy a TM 450 Fi supermoto ... it's easier , cheaper and better ... 5 world titles won, and people still want to convert a CRF ... but why ?
The new husky 125 has 40.6 hp STOCK!

TrixL it’s not the same engine, the mx/en have the electronic valves
how's it compare to a ktm 150?
bobaganooshy I think pretty good
expensive
bobaganooshy
Pretty much same power
Similar
It's definley a cool bike but not 10k cool.
So I'm curious, what's your thoughts amd this bike vs a KTM 150sx
What class would you race that in?
I would try it
which head did he put on ?
Great test but the TM:s looks way better stock tho..
It is possible to buy grapics kit ?
Man, listen to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is the company who makes the bikes and the one who makes the guards and stuff the same?
No
Justin F no dude what are you thinking ;)

that bike looks big next to him
...the bark of this motor....
Complete exhaust for tm 125/144 here in italy therearent, where that from?
LegoZBuffalo013 vai sul sito ufficiale
scalivini make complete exhausts
are you guys selling it
that thing looked fast for a 144!
I'm sure the crank stroke is longer, easier to ride and has way more over rev
Stroking an engine kills over rev
Caffeine/Energy drinks, or as I like to call it, Christian Crack.
Only problem is that it's a TM. :/
So what ?
What's wrong with TM?
support and parts availability.
Support and parts is great now, you can get any part delivered to your door just as fast as you can get a Honda part from Bike Bandit or whatever. I know, I do both.
this is good to know cause these motors are beast. tm always had a great quality machine and a wicked 125 plant.
