      They will send a random questionnaire that they want you to fill out. I have had two "companies" do that to me. No application just a bunch of questions. Also, if they contact you on Whatsapp--Big Red Flag.

      I totally agree! Make sure you ask yourself the questions I share in the video as you come across questionable job postings. This should make it easier as you're searching for positions that fit your skill and experience.

    I have more than my share of this nonsense… so aggravating. I have never seen it this bad.

    The only issue is that recruiters and HR lie a lot so these questions cannot really help me

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree, full transparency isn't always there in the interview process.

    Yes. It was many, many, many years ago, before the invention of ATS and rampant, nasty robo calls. I saw a job posting from a reputable office that I think is a perfect fit for me so I applied. After many tries and attempts to follow up, I finally got to talk to the hiring manager. When I politely tell her my reason for calling, she just casually replied "Oh, we are not really hiring. That (posting) is just to see what's out there." So this practice is ages old.

      Oh that's such a bummer. I'm glad you finally called. Sometimes that is the best solution. Thanks for watching.

      Some businesses have no morals. That's not the sort of company you want to work for.

      Basically, they are committing fraud and getting away with it.

    Short, sweet, and to the point. I like this. There is great content and not alot of watching time to get there. Simple rules of thumb that anyone searching for a second part-time online job like myself can take to heart and remember.

    I saw a couple that were copied and pasted. The genius who wrote the ad did not change the company name.

    Great info! I inherently steered away from jobs that were older than 30 days but what about jobs that are being reposted? Are those likely ghost or high turnover jobs as well?

    I've heard about the impact & power of 'Storytelling' in getting hired at interviews but before that which such skill or trait is essential to get called in for interviews as freshers.. Does meaningful conversations or something like it works on LinkedIn to engage with recruiters.. what should be the steps taken to reach the doors of interview process..

    • @ProfessorHeatherAustin
      @ProfessorHeatherAustin  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! As a fresher, building a strong LinkedIn presence and engaging meaningfully with recruiters can make a big difference. Start by optimizing your LinkedIn profile with the right keywords and a clear headline that reflects your skills. Share relevant content, comment on posts, and reach out to recruiters with personalized messages. Networking and showing your value are key first steps to landing interviews!

    A lot of companies want you to set up an account with a password. Is there a good reason for this?

    Hello Professor Heather, firstly I'd like to thank you for helping me land multiple job interviews using the free resume template you provided and showing how to use AI to supercharge and format my resume.
    I have a question. I don't know if you know what enhancv is, I saw the ad while looking at some of your videos. What are your honest thoughts on it, would you recommend it?
    The resume does end up looking more fancy when one uses enhancv but then I wonder if it takes from the simplicity of how a resume should resemble... either way, thanks a lot for your channel and free videos. Blessings
