@@pamelasaunders3736 Agree. Derek, the supposed Len replacement actual ballroom dance expert, is a company guy, and being way too kumbaya, apologetic, and nice. Although I will give him credit for giving the only (two) 4's (or lower) this season.
Anna brought nothing to this experience, except for her bedazzled ankle monitor and a chip on her shoulder. So obviously, how could she have gotten anything out of it!
Only thing she brought was her scowl on her face! She was rude and should have NEVER been asked to be in that show!

Peta I agree with you about Anna. She lacks effort. Like she doesn't want to be there. That's not fair to Ezra.
Eric was scored too high as was Reginald. Anna was an embarrassment who definitely didn’t want to be there. She was very rude last night.
It's not about the Pro.
I hope they bring Ezra back as a pro next season with a partner who actually cared to participate. Her saying ‘nothing’ at the end was such a diss to Ezra who took time to try and teach her.

so glad she is GONE, she should never have been on the show, and she was so RUDE and her true character came thru in the end!

I love hearing your critique of the dances. Maks, I agree with you about the scoring. I would think the feeling of accomplishment would be greater when you seen your numbers approving.

I honestly think Ezra got done SO DIRTY by the casting people this year. We've got this pro that everyone is so excited to see, and we saddle him with someone that I have no idea why on this Earth she agreed to do the show, she didn't want any part of it. Ezra got done SO DIRTY.
I really hope Ezra returns next season!
Peta and Maks set the standards for outstanding dancing. Thank you for your observations and comments. You two are delightful together. Sometimes the judging on the is inconsistent and difficult to understand. Wish you all the best!
Peta, I agree about the paddles and it doesn’t seem to be consistent scoring with each couple
CAI did say that each persons 10 looks differently to her 🤷🏼♀️
It's very simple. Is it an ABSOLUTE or RELATIVE (aptitude based) scoring metric? This is 100% producer decided. Currently, it's an undisclosed and inconsistent convolution.

Totally agree with you Maks. By the judges giving false scores - the stars think they performed at that level when it's not true.
I was happy to see how Max and Peta praised Jenn for her great work on Tuesday. She was great ,but I felt they were way underscored. They gave Eric and Jenn a both a 6 and I thought that Jenn did a better job than Eric it was not fair to Jenn and Sasha.

Ana Delvey did not surprise me with her response. I wouldn’t ask her back for finale night. I felt for Ezra. Was not even acknowledged the work he put in with her.

Honestly my favorite couple is Dani and Dwight. Dani reminds me so much of Karina and her style and what Dani is able to do with the challenges of Dwight's height is unbelievably creative and amazing

totally agree with Maks, Jenn is the perfect person to be on DWTS and after the bachelorette did her dirty she deserves this redemption. She has sooo much potential and is easy to watch considering she has never danced before and doesn’t come from a performing background. Props to Jenn for saving the dance and finishing strong cause if that music mishap happened to me i would’ve ran off stage and cried lolll

What is bad is west coast are not able to vote during show. They close it eastern time! Not even fair😮
....:( Wow, that is Weird, since the Show is being Taped right down the Street from You guys, in LA...!!!....Somebody should mention that to the Producers...!!!.....We see the show in NY Live at 8:00pm, on TV----so that means the Show is actually happening in Studio at 5:00pm Cali time----But then you'all do not see the Show on TV until 8:00pm Cali Time....?????....!!!!.....Good grief....!!!.....:(

I am in CA and last season I didn't vote. This season I'll vote at 5pm for Jenn and Joey without seeing them. I'd rather vote after I watch the show but by 8pm voting is closed. I have Disney and can't watch it at 5pm either. They need to fix the voting system.
Luckily I'll be in NY for a month mid Oct to mid Nov and can watch and vote live.
@cathycollins3310 yes! I am in mountain time. My daughter and I were keeping a list of who to vote for and found out voting closed an hour into the show. We had no idea we would get cut off early and before we saw all the dances.
My house what we're doing is we score them the week prior, since we can watch live, then once voting opens in the east cost we give them the amount of votes that we scored them. For example we gave Chandler an 8 this week, so when voting opens on the monday episode we'll give her 8 votes. I liked the season the show was on Disney plus, because I could actually watch and vote live.

I love the “let’s be real” tone of you two absolute professionals. So charming, sometimes self-deprecating and trying to find a nice thing to say. Good tips for improving things.

Love these two! They are right on the mark across the board! Anna was so apathetic. I’m so glad she’s gone. Agree 100% to use the 2,3,4 paddles! 6-10 is not a good range.

Sasha and Jenn are absolutely beautiful together - underscored for sure. They deserved two 7 and maybe 1 🎱. Not 6's. Jenn was wonderful w/o music. 💟❣️💟❣️💟
100% what you all said. The scores were off from the beginning. Once they gave both Eric and Jenn a 6, I felt the value of the scores went downhill. Let’s bring back 2’s and 3’s.
Blame DWTS and ICE for Anna being on the show. DWTS offered her a position and she accepted, like many others would. She actually accepted an offer to actually work for her money for once. Blame ICE for bending rules to allow her to be on the show. Blame DWTS for scouting her and allow a felon who's still fulfilling a criminal sentence to have a national platform.
I think Jenn and Sasha were way underscored! She should have least got some 7’s.

Can you give your opinions on favoritism on the show? Why does Brandon get good partners season after season, when he’s never gotten past 8th place. And someone like Britt or Pasha get crap partner after crap partner, when they have shown they can produce and compete?
And I always thought it was BS Peta Val and Maks have not been promoted to host or judge or main choreographer for group dances or SOMETHING
and Sharna has been getting dissed, not invited back and not to Len's tribute episode
I feel very bad for Ezra. Anna did not make an effort to show America her actual personality, and it didn't look like she actually cared. He deserved more effort from her on all fronts. I'm very sarcastic and i totally get dry humor, but that answer fell flat and just reinforced why she didn't get the votes.

My favorite of the night was Chandler, Stephen, Danny, and Phaedra…… I do thinkecen they all need improvement. I’m interested to see with a week off, how much the couples improve.
You mentioned it before, Maks, she really doesn't care about being there. Her heart isn't it. No enthusiasm.

@@OctoberGirl16Yup cuz we all know her sister doesn't ever see room for improvement anywhere. She is incapable of just being objective from one dancer to another!
@@kristabjork5360 I do think Stephen would benefit from a male perspective ..just like Jenna did with Joey. Rylee is a good dancer but it takes experience to become a good teacher as well.

Wish I could do it (73 with bad back and hips) but I sure enjoy watching and I appreciate you both for helping us learn. Sure miss you both dancing, though. Great show. Since the two of them are reviewing the show, Maks definitely should watch the show beforehand. He's trying to catch up the whole time. It's very annoying, like a bad dream for me.
Maks is in NYC now working at Dance With Me studios, teaching. The classes and events go into the evening.
He can watch the rerun before recapping.

Eric Roberts was in a bad car accident and since then his timing and/or balance is off.
Personally I think he's really brave and courageous to do what he's doing.
I do feel for Eric because he's trying his best with the limitations he has. As someone who has focal seizures, I can relate to his limitations, and I love him, I am his fan forever

I wish if they’re going to have seniors dance; then have all seniors on that season. No way can they compete against Brooke and Joey. A season with gymnastics background or all football players. You get the gist of it.
Out of shape and handicapped "seniors" at that. Btw, I'm 62 and compete in CrossFit and eat for health. I can run circles around these two "seniors".

I get the older guys are charming. I always want to vote for the ppl who are charming and struggling. But every week it gets harder and harder to watch them struggle, so I decided it was kinder to let them go rather then trying to vote to save them. These 2 older guys are trying so hard, their hearts are there, their bodies are wishing for a chair in the audience.

that's why every season I don't know why they have contestants who are over 70 competing. It's not fair to compete against people in their 20s and who are flexible, like Chandler.

Don’t see the point of doing these recaps, without showing the actual performance. I think they need more time to figure out how to make it more professional. It’s not well organized. Maybe that will happen over time. I won’t tune in again.

You'd think that *posture* is the last thing that an Olympic gymnast would be lacking. Too bad that he doesn't have a pro pro. Gone are the days of Karina Julianne and ilk.
Chandlers Rumba felt a little closer to bolero but it was a beautiful performance
They really should allow Ezra to come back as a pro because that partner he had did not want to be there.
Anna‘s parting comment had me laughing hard. I’m a fan of DWTS since the beginning, and sometimes you see that insincere grateful behaviour from some of the celebrities. Anna being so honest and blunt was kind of refreshing! She got her paycheque and now she’s going to move on.
Refreshing? She was so disrespectful and I felt so bad for her partner Ezra. He deserved so much better. They should've never allowed her on the show this year.

Respectfully, while watching this, I remembered something. Remember when Maks argued with Len over Hope Solos worst dance? At least Maks was great ful to be part of the the show that he loved! I think if Anna had shown more appreciation she could have made it past the 1st Elimination round. Also, remember Tonya on season, 26? Tonya made it really far into the competition, and, even though Tonya's casting was controversial but she was respectful and took the Judges comments with a grain of salt. Respect goes a long way, and if a person doesn't isn't respectful, they'll have limited opportunities. I am specifically referring to her nothing comment.

@@noahstarlord6045 I adore Stephen and I am worried that if he does not wear his glasses he will miss steps in the dances because they get longer and may not be able to rely on his memory. I might be wrong because one contestant was deaf and he did ok. I’m sure he and Rylee will make the best choices. I just worry he will lose his place on the floor without them. So I think his best protection is to wear his glasses. 👓

Anna was awful she’s so miserable being there. I feel bad for Ezra. They should have had Shenna Shay be Ezra’s partner. She’s wanted to be on DWTS forever and Ezra would have perfect with her. Next season PLEASE bring Shenna ( VPR) on and Ezra give him someone who will put the effort in.

PLEASE, Maks and Peta, speak to whoever makes the choices of costume and hair for Ilona. She looks so feminine in her practice package with her hair down and shoulders covered, and then both weeks the halter neckline of her costume does her no favors. It shows her magnificent muscles, but she makes Alan look small by comparison. Cover up those arms, let the hair down to flow around her face and shoulders so that her beauty can shown much better! She deserves it!
I watched a podcast interview with Ezra and he is just adorable!!! He is making so much effort to connect to Anna and break down her self protective walls. He has the best attitude. ❤️
