This was the week that Wallie (and friends) took us to Franklin, PA. It's been cool. In all seriousness though, it's been sad to see so many businesses go under.

I worked at this kfc for almost 9 years., left shortly before they closed down (end of 2009). They sold everything inside to other restaurants. They had just remodeled it probably in 2007. Also, this Jamesway was never an Ames, but at the local mall there was an Ames (formerly Hills) that is now a Dunham’s. & Ollies.
With so many things going out of business and disappearing, sometimes I wonder whats going to be left. When I was a kid, if you went to work for a restaurant, you had a job as long as you wanted it. Now you could lose your job tommorow, with no warning. Such was the case with the Little Ceasers here in Jasper Ga. They had a job one day, the next day they didnt. They came to work, and the locks had been changed. Absolutely nothing is sacred or promised anymore.
I agree. It's awful. I've seen it happen here in Pittsburgh at all the Steak N Shake locations and the Joe's Crab Shack. Closed without warning and employees showed up for work to see they were out of a job. It's horrible, really. And it breaks my heart for those who depend on that paycheck.
@@WallieB26 Absolutely. I have worked for some of those places. I worked at a Big K-Mart, during a time when they were actually still in great abundance. In the state I live in ( Georgia) there are no K-Marts left in the entire state. I never thought I would see the day. The one I worked at, is now an Ollies Bargain outlet.
It's a 4 lane road between 2 decent size town. This road also has like 5 car dealerships owned buy the same guy and many other empty businesses that are have closed over the years.
Another great video, guys! That KFC was sad to look at, must have been closed for a long time! Enjoyed your thorough view of these places! Take care, have a great day! 🥰
I grew up in Franklin in the 1980's. I remember Christmas shopping in that very Jamesway. The Long John's was there when I lived there but not the KFC.

There's a former King's/Jamesway up in Dunmore, PA that was converted into a Big Lots a while ago. The label scar underneath the Big Lots sign was super visible for a long, LONG time after they closed but it seems like it's faded significantly in the past 3-4 years unless they just finally power washed it to remove it. Same plaza also had an Acme that shut down in the opposite end of the plaza. It's now an Advance Auto Parts store. In the basement of the former King's / Jamesway there's a furniture store now (Eynon Furniture Outlet/EFO) but the basement once held a really old bowling alley/arcade complete with one of those shuffleboard "bowling" games where you had to slide the shuffleboard pucks over metal bars to 'knock down' the pins.
Whenever I see a KFC, I instantly get flashbacks from when One Direction were writing Midnight Memories, but Niall wanted it to be called "I Love KFC", Niall said "exactly", and Liam was like "for real" and they sung it, but it was later changed to Midnight Memories so they wouldn't get in trouble with the FC company

KFCs (at least here in the DFW area) seem to be getting less and less common. There's still a decent number, but a notable decline from 15-20 years ago. The trend towards healthier food is likely doing quite a number on their business. Long John Silvers is probably doing worse though. There used to be at least 5 in my immediate area 15 years ago but now the nearest one is 30 minutes away. I see why though. I've been eating healthy for the last two years and now I just feel sick any time I try to eat fried meats.
Its abandoned since 2009 due to not enough money to remodel
So...Wendy’s next?
