    • @anubis520
      @anubis520 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would be surprised, track sprinters are pretty decent in the gym all things considered. Obviously they don't be moving the kind of weight a bodybuilder probably lifts but still quite powerful. To give you an idea, I was very weak when it came to the gym portion of training (compared to everyone else) and my max for squat was 365lbs, 450lbs for deadlift and 225lbs for bench.

    • @nofascistsonmywatch
      @nofascistsonmywatch 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WesternUranus Chris Hoy is not exactly an emaciated lightweight, but yeah, not quite as bulky on the upper body as Obi.
      With the proper training/coaching, he could do quite well in match sprints, flying 500s, and maybe even the kilo.
      Any event shorter than a pursuit, where his upper body mass/bulk will be an absolute impediment due to the 'aero' penalty, should be in Obi's 'wheelhouse', due to the inherent strength of his workouts, despite being not 'cycling specific'. ;)

    I'm losing on the climbs. Always. But when weight is finally on speed, it keeps rolling and takes just little effort to hold the pace.
