The labels are cool. I need to get some so I can do that. I write it all out now. Freezer meals are very convenient. I am a wife and I cook for just the two of us, but I never know when somebody might "pop" over. I plan the meals and bag them for 2-4. We do take leftovers for lunches. There has been more than once when I had one bag out and then somebody came over. I grabbed the second bag or a like meal and it worked. Thanks for all the videos and ideas.
This is so helpful, exactly what i was looking for! We are just a two person household right now, but we are going to have our first baby this year and i wanted to learn how to prep to help make post partum recovery easier. Even when things are back to normal, I really believe this will save us both so much time as our evenings mostly consist of cooking and/or cleaning the dishes.
Sharla, I know a small bit of what you went through because of the fact I have 3 special needs kids and it does require a lot of appointments and therapies and I only have 3..Thank you for all you both do.
Hello from Australia, I love your freezer meals. My husband and I have been empty nesters for over 18yrs. We kicked our kids to the curb pretty early. Now that they are raising families of their own, I love to help them out by filling their freezers. Especially when my daughters and DIL's are pregnant and the first few months home. Looking forward to next weeks vlog. Thankyou
THANK YOU for sharing all of your knowledge!! I have been making freezer meals for about 2 years and was able to stock my freezer for when I had a baby and provide meals to friends that are going through difficult times. Such a gift!!
Sharla, I want you to know that Sandi Richard: Cooking for the Rushed is one of my favourite cookbooks as well. I borrowed it from the library numerous time until I found it at a garage sale and bought it instantly. Her FoodTv show Fixing Dinner was a wonderful show, I watched it daily and was so sad when it was taken off the air.
You’re right Yvonne. We meant to specify that on its own, it freezes but when it’s in recipes, it can cause the sauce to separate. Thanks for pointing that out. Because if you can find milk on sale, freezing it is a great option.
Great video!! I am very passionate about food and loving my family by making tasty and healthy meals. Thank you for bringing joy to my life by sharing your knowledge and experience 💗💗 Love you both
You know, that is something we've never tried! A quick google search tells me that it separates when thawed (after freezing) so it would be well suited for use in smoothies or baking. So for the purpose of freezer meals, I'd say probably not. Great question!
when i shop i chop all my veggies onions and peppers and bag them in quart bags and freeze them then when im ready to cook even if im not making a freezer meal most of my prep is done just open a bag and add it to my meal
OK, so explain this... how do you fit all the prepped stuff in the fridge overnight until you divide it up into bags? And did you both buy another freezer for your freezer meals? I have tried using the space gained by thawing and cooking meat, but meals take up more space due to the veggies or other ingredients doubling or tripling the space the meat originally took up!
Great questions! Fridge space is for sure a concern for prepped ingredients. Sometimes we can't fit any more containers in the fridge so we have to put prepped ingredients in bags to take up less space. There have even been times where I've had to take some condiments out and leave them on the counter overnight (like ketchup or mustard) to make space. Since we have such a large family, we do have an extra fridge but it sometimes is pretty full already. Another thing we've done for prepped ingredients is store them overnight in a cooler. And of course since we are in Canada, we've even put them in a Rubbermaid on the deck when temperatures are colder. As far as the freezer goes, both Christie's family and my family have bought an extra upright freezer for freezer meals. In my case, I did the math and the grocery savings paid for the freezer in less than one month but it was not a great freezer. I then saved for a year and bought a better freezer. A family of four will save $200-$400 a month with freezer cooking (depending on whether they were spending on take-out or not before). I hope that explanation helps!
The Club is its own website so no need for a Facebook account! We do have a free Facebook group that’s separate from the Club. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Milk freezes fantastically you just have to remember to shake well after thawing and it will taste just like you got it out of the fridge
