    You sir are 1000% correct that inside is not going behind. Pulling inside puts you in a position to go up and then come back to the ball from the inside. Just make sure you don't roll behind and you are golden!

    "As long as you don't end up behind you, you'll be fine." What a liberating statement which removes the pressure of getting the club Just Right. Simply get the club around and up, and not in that area behind, and the ability to make consistent strikes is increased.
    Good golf swings aren't difficult to achieve, we just make them difficult.

    I’ve been doing this and it’s working out nicely for me. Only sometimes the ball flight stays to the right (right handed swing) and doesn’t draw and sometimes it draws a little too much! Haha. But it’s work in progress. Thank you for the videos.

      Nice work! It will never be perfect but we can come close. If you hit it a little on the toe side it can draw a little too much and if we are just a little late with the release it goes straight. The more we practice the better we get but there will always be some misses here and there. 😊

    Marcus, I love the red top. Nice. I did exactly that today and hit some great wedges. Clean and pure with a slight draw. 😊 Your swing method works with every club. I either hit a straight shot or a little draw. However, when I don't accelerate through the ball, I tend to push it to the right. This swing method works great 👍

    Agree 100% on no twisting anything. The backswing has always been a puzzle for me....body first, hands first, various swing planes and everything in between. Dr. Kwon's "active backswing" (throwing the clubhead back) really helped me to stop over-analyzing and trying to guide the backswing.

  • @Chris_Traynor
    @Chris_Traynor 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Looking well Marcus! Though you have talked about the hand action many times before, I liked the fact that you explicitly mentioned it here as a mechanism which, 'squares the clubface'. That's a slightly different way of thinking about it in comparison to your earlier video on squaring the clubface, in which you describe the squaring of the clubface as a consequence and mid-point between going from feeling of 'toe up' in the backswing to 'toe up' in the follow through. It makes me wonder if/how you conceptualise sqauring the clubface. You have another great video about the timing squaring the face, i.e., late release = slice vs. early release =draw. A 'deep dive' into ways of conceptualising how the face squares would make a great video, unless you've covered in the videos I've mentioned above. I say this because I lost feel through strike recently and have gone from 5 up to 9hcp. One hole I'll hit everything pure - then I'll completely loose strike on the next.

    I think that’s an important thing when you say “pull in and up”. When I first started learning from your channel, I pulled in and it as much up and my elbow went behind my ribs. I could still hit well with that palm strike feeling, but couldn’t feel the circle until I noticed my error.

    It’s not perfected yet but I played a full, round with the circle of speed (usually quit after a few bad holes) and I’m glad I stuck with it. Irons 8 out of 10. I found pushing down easy. Driver 4 out of 10 but last 2 drives were better than the previous 8. Upper cut requires timing. Love the method though, was about to spend on lessons! Thanks

    Great video! I'm hitting my long irons better than I ever have using your technique but I'm still slicing my driver, IDK if I'm not releasing soon enough. something I'm not clear about is lead wrist angle at impact with the driver. is the lead wrist flat at impact or cupped? It seams like I heard you say cupped with driver to hit up on the ball? another thing with the driver hitting left for a left handed golfer is it seems harder to let the trail arm pass the lead arm but I'm sure I just need to practice more, I'm trying to slow the lead arm down and speed up the trail arm.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The lead wrist should be slightly cupped at impact but it's a motion that should keep going until it is cupped. Timing is hard and you need to exaggerate to get and probably hold it to feel the difference.
      I learned when I maximized my slice and then tried to release early the next shot. My brain needed to feel the difference. Keep going. 😊

    Would you discuss what the trail elbow is doing during the swing. I have noticed you and all long hitters have it quite a bit away from the body. I was always taught to keep the elbows close together but recently Kyle Berkshire stated his only swing thought is getting his rear elbow away and up.

    When you pull the club behind you in the take away are you not turning your shoulders at the same time or is it a arms and hands only takeaway? When you demonstrate the takeaway at 2:43 it looks like all arms, I'm not saying either way is wrong I'm just trying to understand. Also a lot of the best players in the world tries to describe what there doing in the golf swing and their feel will be different from what they actually doing. How do you distinguish between real and feel?

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In this video I exaggerate the arm motion but it is mostly arms that do the initial move. If you relax and do it your body will follow along and will look more "normal". Watch any video when I hit balls it doesn't look as exaggerated.

  • @jarihissa7255
    @jarihissa7255 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    For me, i noticed that the only way i can prevent twisting and other faults in the takeaway was that i focus solely on my trail side and especially the trail hand. Then it is easy to pull the club with the trail side and then push with the trail side. The lead side is basically dead weight. Also when i do this trail side only feel, i naturally want to be open at setup instead of a little closed that i have done before. Is this a good swing thought to have?

      @@GolfwithMarcusEdblad One more question about the takeaway. Should you keep your body from turning too much on the takeaway, almost like keeping lower body still. If i turn too much in the takeaway it feels like i cant get my trail elbow to my side

    Quick question for you @Marcus:

    Thanks Marcus. Your videos are very helpful. Question: In many of your videos I have noticed that you setup to most shots (driver and irons) such that you seem to be 'reaching out' for the ball. Your club is usually far short of the ball before the backswing starts. Please explain why you do this...

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wish I knew exactly why I do this but I don't. Many of the things I do just started when I was practicing some drills. The things you mention is nothing I need to do but it happens often but not all the time. I don't think that how we set up the club has much to do with how we hit the ball and therefore I do it a bit different from day to day.
