Blethering Ben - In search of a sunset on West Lomond

  • Breathing deeply on a wonderfully cold West Lomond as the sun goes down....with early thoughts about winter for those of us in Tier 3 lockdown, and suddenly catching a familiar distinctive pong ;-)
By this point I'd already been up East Lomond for the sunrise, and while a Lomonds double seemed the way to go, I didn't actually get a spectacular sunset to close the day. However.....two weeks ago I got exactly that, so have instead included some footage of what unexpectedly turned out to be one my most memorable sunsets in a long time. Enjoy!

Cold smells amazing! It needs a good name, like petrichor or sussuration.

Amazing.I couldn’t wait for a new video. After such a long time. Hello Ben from a guy on a MTB that you met in Linn of Dee car park in Cairngorms last August 🚲⛰⛰

@@BenvironmentBlog Yes it was August 2019 and I was with my pregnant wife. Now my son is one year old and I can’t wait to take him for a proper mountain adventure. We did some short walks carrying him in baby carrier in Arrochar Alps, Whitelee Windfarm, Queen Elizabeth Forest outside Aberfoyle, Rowandennan and few more places but only about 10 miles long. When he will be older me and my wife we want to show him how beautiful and magnificent Scotland is 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⛰🚵🏻‍♂️🌧🌦

West Lomond has a grand view. You can see all the hills from which you can see West Lomond.
