Ahaha yeah it would have been nice. Especially today 🥵 We actually got a bit sunburnt in the far north of Scotland today - who knew that was possible haha!
Another stunning walk that would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to undertake! Thank you for taking us there, for the history lesson and the amazing views……all of the unrest in the world, the worries and the difficulties seem to fall away as you stand on the summit and look out of the beautiful countryside …… a moment of sublime peace ❤️
I agree with you. The rock looks like a mushroom. The landscape is just stunning ♥️♥️♥️and the waterfall was a very nice surprise, almost mystical. You captured the bee perfectly. And with all of the tiny fine hairs....just amazing. You have such talent ♥️
I couldn't help but imagine ancient cave men using that rocky outcrop as a point to watch for potential game travelling through the area so it wasn't a surprise when you said the main hill ha been use during the bronze an iron ages. All your little snippets about the flowers etc prompte me to get an app on my phone (flora incognita) to see what I've got in my garden. So far Hairy Bittercress, Field Forget-Me-Not, Nipplewort, Heal-all and Pineapple Weed! Spent a lot of last week sitting in the garden surrounde by bumble and honey bees busy on all the clover. They really are lovely looking things and your painting really does them justice. All in all a vieo well worth waiting for 👍😊
I too find it almost unimaginable how our ancestors made a living in our ancient landscapes. America doesn't have the depth of occupation, but there are still areas that defy belief.
What an amazing place. You could go back many times and still find more. The valley with the stream at the bottom I would say has been carved through thousands of years of water flow. As you say the peacefulness of today will never be able to recall the violence and hard way of life that our possible forebears went through. Thank you for this trip. Being in New Zealand I will never get to Scotland, where some of my forebears come from, through your trips I can see the landscapes of their lives. Take care =-) Totally love your painting and watching it come alive.
So beautiful, almost to much to be real. Such beautiful walks you are able to go on. And Jack... love to have a wee bit of that energy. The bee is sooo cute. You are so talented. Yes it is hard to believe that once there was such violence in such a beautiful and peaceful area. Freedom was not free, we were bought and paid for by our ancestors. It's a wonder any of us survived!!! Keep up this fabulous channel. Thank you.
Thanks Eleanor! I do sometimes think about leaving it as a complete surprise, but then lots of people on TH-cam like to know what’s coming. We can’t win sometimes haha! Just close your eyes for the intro and see if you can guess what I choose next time? xx
Hehehe from one angle it looks like a fluffed up chicken, another angle a mushroom and from another angle a tam. Just makes a difference how you percieve it. Thanks for the walk, l really enjoyed it. And of course your art is beautiful. Dont forget to give Jack an ear scratch for me. Hope you guys are having a great time. 🥰
Great views as usual and Jack always amazes me with his nonstop burst of energy. Thanks for taking us along. Stay well and tell Willie as a fellow guitar man I never get tired of his playing. Al, NJ, USA
Hi, another delightful walk thank you. Jack certainly looked like the King of the Castle as he took in the view with his fur blowing in the wind. Very Holywood ha ha. Loved you capturing a photo of the bees and Jack jumping around in the bog cotton. Beautiful rendition of the red bum bee. Take care and have a good week xx
Aww thank you so much! If there is water to play in, Jack will almost certainly find it. And he also usually finds the water he’s not supposed to play in too…🤦♀️
Thanks for showing us these unusual outcrops. This was a great place to walk. I love the waterfall and little pool for Jack to splash in. Your bee is one I’ve never seen before and you rendered a beautiful likeness.
Looks like 'camel rock' In New Mexico! I get heart-sore at not being able to get out and hike like you do. At times, I don't even feel like watching, but I stick it out & am always glad I did because of the views like these that overcome my grief. So many of today's locations remind me of places here in America that I've seen.
Oh Alana - I’m sorry to hear that. It’s so tough when you can’t get out to do the things that you want to. I was the same before I had my ankle operation 😢 I’m glad you do enjoy the videos when you watch them though! Sarah x
What a beautiful walk, I absolutely loved the panoramic views you did at the top, the awesome scenery and gorgeous sky 😍 Jack made me laugh prancing through the cotton grass lol, he did look particularly happy and bouncy today. That waterfall was just idyllic too, beautiful sandwich stop and somewhere to dip your toes! Your bee was just beautiful too, so much detail, it was fascinating to see all the tiny details of its body magnified. Thank you for another beautiful video. 🤗💛
Lovely finding the waterfall! Such a peaceful walk away from people and vehicles. The red-bottomed bee is a great subject, and your painting turned out beautifully, Sarah!
I think it looks like a mushroom too! Jack got in a few more "miles" while off leash. The bog cotton looked fun to romp through! The waterfall area is incredible. I am not fond of bees and wasps being very allergic to stings, but your Red-Tailed Bumblebee is adorable!
Thanks Debbie!! Yes - Jack more than made up for the time on-lead this day 🤣 I later realised that ‘bunnet’ usually means a cap type of hat and mushrooms also have ‘caps’ so maybe that is the connection 😀
The surprise finding the magical waterfall was so lovely I wanted to stay there, thank you Sarah, it was beautiful.(and nice that it was new to you). Queen bee, spectacular too❤️x
I wonder if any fairy legends have sprung up from the place with the pretty waterfall, it looks magical enough to imagine them living there. Beautiful painting, you really are so talented and very patient 🧚♀️😀💗 x
Such lovely scenery. Just two days ago, I accompanied my brother and his beautiful Shiba Inu dog named Deoji on a picnic to a beautiful mountain we have about an hour away. We live in the desert so it's great to get away from the 107° heat and enjoy the cool breeze among the tall pine trees of the mountain. As we set up lunch my brother decided to snack on a delicious biscuit with honey. Immediately bees started to swarm and Deoji was having fun trying to catch them. In a matter of seconds, Deoji let's out a blood curdling scream. Immediately my brother started to check him for what had happened all along the screams only getting louder. We finally thought that he probably swallowed a bee 🐝. It took a good hour to calm him down all along checking that his throat wasn't swelling. We were far up a the mountain and very far from any vet. It is an experience that I will never forget. We love this dog dearly, he has brought so much happiness to our life. Our bees are not as big nor beautiful as the ones you have. Your painting is lovely. I love the fine details you show in all your paintings. 🥰🌻🐝🐕
Aww no Guadalupe - that must have been a horrible experience! I hope Deoji was fine in the end (and less eager to eat bees…). We are always worried that Jack will step on one, so try and keep him away from them! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
I smiled when i got the tone for a new post. Thank you for this walk in a country i love, but likely will not see again , given my age. It was a rough week. 2 trips to the hospital emergency. My husband had a massive heart attack 8 years ago, and has been fine since then until now. His heart was racing, afib, they said. More medications, tomorrow a heart monitor. And then for 5 days he has been in massive pain which it turns out is a kidney stone. I needed a walk, Willy playing guitar, Jack and your painterly spirit.
Beautiful place out there. Love the waterfall area. Such a relaxing walk out there. Interesting in how you did the body of bee and the wings with a grey shade first. Then I can see how the darker shade and detail work is done. Turned out great Sarah.👍
Thanks Sally! I like to show my techniques as I go along, so if you ever have any questions let’s me know. I always block on areas with a pale shade first, as it helps take aqua the fear of the blank white page haha!
Hi, I just came across your channel a couple of days ago and love your walks and adventures with Jack the Spaniel and we mustn't forget Willie lol. By the way I'm a Fifer far Kirkcaldy, born and bred in the Gallatown area. Love your paintings also. Thank you so much.
The wife and I love your art and adventures with Jack Spaniel and Willie. Keep up the fabulous content and lovely paintings. Now, one lil suggestion, I really enjoy when you include a visit to a local establishment for a beverage and bakery goody, at the end of the first portion. I'm not saying change it to She Walks, She Eats, She Paints, yeah I guess I kind of am. ; ) I just feel it adds another dimension to your already interesting videos. I’m sure the places you included would also appreciate the exposure. Anyhow peace and love, from Pennsylvania in the USA.
Thanks William! The coffee and cake segment is definitely not gone forever - we are just doing more evening walks at the moment, so the weather isn’t too hot for the wee black furry spaniel! But I have some lovely places to share with you all very soon 😊👍
Such a pretty walk. That rock definitely looks more like a mushroom than any hat I've ever seen. The accidental waterfall is absolutely gorgeous. Here's to serendipity! That red bottomed bee is so realistic I was afraid it would fly off the paper looking for a giant flower. You really should consider doing your own book of Scottish flora and fauna, Sarah. Such beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.
What a wonderful walk! So many types of landscape. The Bunnet Stone is very cool, I love it, but I can't make it into a hat of any type. I'm with you, more of a mushroom than anything. I can't believe how many times the landscape changed during that one walk and it was all beautiful. Jack looked so cute frolicking in the grass when he was finally free. And, speaking of grass, I love the bog cotton. I've never seen that before and it was really neat. The bee painting is beautiful! I was away for a couple of weeks so I had to catch up with your videos. I loved the one before this too (wild strawberries) but didn't have a chance to comment. I'll try to go back to do that...I don't want it to appear I liked that one less than the rest. 😉
Aww thanks! Yeah the landscape is so varied there - that’s one of the reasons we love that area 😊 Jack definitely made the most of his off-lead time haha!
Such beautiful countryside there, and what a surprise that lovely waterfall was. Beautiful painting of the bee Sarah, all those 'furry' strokes must have taken a lot of patience! We have a native bee here in Australia called the blue-banded bee due to the turquoise bands that run across its bum
Thank you! So glad you found my channel 😊 In Scotland we have the ‘Right to Roam’ so we can legally walk on any land, provided we treat it with respect, there isn’t a health & safety risk involved and it’s not directly outside someone’s house!

Wonderful video. I bet Jack slept the entire car trip back home.😍
Beeautiful and with the Heat Wave we're enjoying I would definitely had to have cool off under the waterfall.x
Ahaha yeah it would have been nice. Especially today 🥵 We actually got a bit sunburnt in the far north of Scotland today - who knew that was possible haha!
The bee is stunning.

That stone is Amazing..and yes, I think it looks more like a mushroom too! 😊
Beautiful scenery. So many different landscapes in one walk. Your bee looks like it will up and fly away, so realistic. Absolutely stunning painting.
Thank you Sylvia! I love the variety of landscapes that you get in this area - that’s why we love it there 😊
I enjoy see the beauty of uiur country. & watching the antics of the fur baby of course. & your beautiful art work.
Being a dog-lover,it's great to see Jack in his element running free. Love the coverage, wish it was me.

Such a beautiful walk. I loved the scenery and the waterfall. Your bumblebee painting was awesome. TFS 🐝
Thank you Penny! For watching, commenting and my lovely coffee & cake contribution 😊 So glad you liked it!

Your bumblebees is fantastic! Great job. As always.
Haha yes he was - bouncing around to see his way! So glad you liked the painting
Ooooh! Great painting of a bumblebee! I love those furry buzzbeasts!
Thanks!! Me too 😊🐝
The bumblebee is beautiful. Your attention to detail is awesome, you can feel how fuzzy the bee is. So glad Jack found some water to play in.
Aww thank you so much! If there is water to play in, Jack will almost certainly find it. And he also usually finds the water he’s not supposed to play in too…🤦♀️

what pencil grade do you use?
To sketch I usually use a 2H pencil, drawing very lightly so I can easily erase the lines 😊
