Hey man, I’m very inflexible and have short hamstrings therefore I feel like I am not getting my side kick very high and I cannot even touch my toes. What stretches/ exercises would you recommend?

I would recommend stretching. It will help lessen the muscles up and it should help with the extension/straightening your leg. It won’t happen right away but if you apply stretching to you routine it should help
That’s a very good question which I should’ve clarified in the video. Just imagine if there were two people you were defending yourself from. One to the right of you and one to the left of you. Fighting multiple attackers. I hope that gives you a better understanding

There are different front kicks based on style. A front thrust kick you would think thrusting through your target. There is a front snap kick or ball kick using the ball of your foot. You chamber, kick using a snapping motion recoil and set the kick down

I haven’t been able to create a stretching video but there is a ton of good videos on TH-cam to improve flexibility

Make sure to do stretches before you start doing your lessons
Do lage stretches with your arm try too touch your toes and then git on your nee and put the other leg straight and then try to touch your toes
