    I trained 3 times a week from 1972 to 1980 .And even now if someone goes to touch my face for any reason ,I instinctively block them without even thinking .I am 81

      That’s amazing. And if anyone is reading this comment, this just shows if you try long enough, martial arts will become second nature. Thank you for watching, sir! 🙏

    Basics are so important. It can be considered that basics are the start of mastery....when one can hone the fundamentals.The reason is because if someone has not got good basics they wont move well later on with advanced material. Great video !👍

      @ChampionsKarateDojo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I completely agree. Repetition of trying to perfect a technique was very much how I trained growing up.

      @@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs when I teach techniques to my students we work on it for a week until we learn something new. But I always revisit the lesson and train old techniques so no one forgets.

    As a 39-year-old parent and full-time student and employee, I understand the challenges of finding time to train in a traditional dojo. I am grateful to have found this channel, as it allows me to train in the comfort of my own home. I am a highly motivated individual when it comes to learning self-defense, especially in these uncertain times.

    I chose to wield the knifehand instead of the fist, but I found myself lacking in technique. I decided to look up a style that uses the knifehand and I found that karate uses it (although not so much). So here I am, learning techniques from you.

Some people will understand and get really good very quick and others may have to work much longer to get good. I still have my black belts practice basic white belt techniques. I just finished lesson 1 and it was great. I already know some kick boxing but i wanted to learn a martial art where strength isnt behind every move since im not muscular or anything. I especially want to learn karate so I can protect others, like right now someone at my church is being stalked. Usually I cant really do anything do too my short and kinda skinny physique, its getting annoying and i want to be able to protect those who cant protect themselves. Anyway sorry for yapping but i feel like these videos/lessons of yours will help me do that.
