  • I wasn't the biggest fan of the Floor One S3. It didn't clean all that well, required a lot of maintenance, and talked AT you more than a politician. But they've now released a new version of the Tineco, and we're going to find out if this new version of the VacMop is any good!

    Great review! Thanks for pointing out the flaws of the s5. Never thought a small screw can wreck the roller fabric so much. Next time will make sure floor areas are free of small hard debris prior to using the s5.
    I use the s5 for my 3 story house with hard floors for all levels. I mop one floor daily, 30min everyday. Cuts my floorcleaning time in half since it combines vacuuming and mopping. I hope it has a swappable battery system as one charge can only last for one floor for my case.

    My Dyson animal V10 won't pick up the screw, it won't even pick up tiny pebbles. Like some others commenters, my house is 90% hard floors. I have a two dogs, one a Labrador who sheds like crazy. I also have an 11 month old. I currently vacuum with my Dyson, then swiffer wet, then vacuum again. This is a daily occurrence. An appliance that would vacuum and mop saves a bunch of time. Because of my dog shedding, I'm emptying my Dyson after every room. So the clean up of the Tineco would be the same. Thanks for the review though.

    I can see why you have a hard time recommending this product to people for “practical” reasons. I agree that it’s for very specific homes and messes. For me, the s5 combo is almost the perfect product. The vac/mop option is for general floor cleaning of my wood floors downstairs, and my bathrooms, which are always in decent shape because I clean them often and we don’t wear shoes in the house so it’s not like I need a heavy duty scrubber. It just seems soooo convenient to quickly get it all done in one go, especially with a shedding dog and toddler. I won’t be using it for things like vomit and slurries of ketchup lol but we rarely ever have those types of messes anyway. Just the time it’ll cut from sweeping/vacuuming and then mopping or swiffering, and then still having to clean all 3 of those tools afterward ANYWAY, and then STILL having the floors come out cleaner with the tineco, all seems like a dream.And the vacuum part is for my couch and curtains and dusting furniture. Our second floor is all carpet and we have a robot vacuum and a heavy duty carpet shampooer for that so it’s an all around win for us. Basically, the tineco combo will be replacing my broom, mop, swiffer mop, swiffer duster, and my heavy ass dyson vacuum that doesn’t have a good hose to reach my couch. I’m not getting rid of all those other tools because a couple have their uses, but for everyday floor cleaning and dusting? Hell yeah!

      Hi MyHam...im thinking of getting the tineco s5 combo....you can vaccum carpet with s5 combo?...im looking for a wet dry vac machine where you can do a dry vaccum carpet and also wet and dry together vac on hard floors...does the s5 combo do the things i say?

    • @MyHam-os4bq
      @MyHam-os4bq ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrissyk3783 unfortunately, not in the way you’d want. The vacuum itself only does hard floors because the water and solution is constantly coming out and you don’t have the option for dry suction, and you probably don’t want to get your carpets wet. However, I did get the s5 combo power kit, which has a super lightweight stick dry vacuum attachment. It’s good for light cleaning on furniture and small rugs, but if you’re looking for something that covers a full room carpeted area, for example, then it doesn’t really work that well on it. For normal carpeting you’d be better off getting a different vacuum that has dry suction.

    Any device that uses water and a cleaning solution mixture is going to require dumping the dirty water when you're done each instance of cleaning. There's no way around that because the nasty stuff stinks and gets nastier. So there's not a "quick clean job" water mopping unit in that respect and there won't be for the foreseeable future. It's part of the trade off in how much time you save by vacuuming and mopping at the same time. I've heard and read others remark about the performance over grout/tile but you're the first person I've heard say that the suction wasn't strong enough. I mean, it was strong enough to have the tiny screw shred that roller brush to pieces, right? None the less, you're review is one of the best and most comprehensive I've seen; so well done. I get my s5 Pro this Saturday so maybe I'm just being a negative Nancy.

    • @ComputerStuff
      @ComputerStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hah! Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Nancy! ;). I think you'll like your S5 Pro, J P. I think what I'd like to convey to people is exactly what you said, it's not a quick job tool, but a more thorough "do the whole house" tool.
      The suction was weird, at times it would pick up clumps of stuff, and at others not so much. I'd love to hear your opinion about your S5 Pro when you've used it a few times!

    You did add the tineco soap fragrance every water bottle? And don’t forget some people clean once to twice a week. So easy clean for them. Fast. Also if tineco doubled or increased the suction power the battery is used more. I think for the built up spots. Use a Karcher steamer also. A carpenter builder won’t build a home with one tool so also many tools to clean a home also.

    yea, i'm on the fence cuz i really only do a one mess quick swiffer, and i have a steam mop. not sure what i was hoping was out there... and for sure, i'd only use once or twice month.
    re the smell. i wonder if we could put a tad of bleach in the dirty water so at least that doesnt smell if you don't get to it until a couple of days later. maybe a drop of essential oil on the cleaning solution? guess one would have to make sure that the EO wouldn't hurt their floor.
    maybe they could start using that antimicrobial stuff called Microban on their surfaces to help w/the stink....dunno... just a thought.
    what i really want is Rosie from the Jetson's to do all my cleaning ;-D

    • @ComputerStuff

      Honda promised us a "Rosie" with Asimo but they bailed on it! :(.
      The Shark Hydrovac VacMop which we'll be doing a review on here soon does use an antimicrobial roller but also has the smell problem in the DWT. A little bit of bleach in the tank would probably be fine but then its also one more thing you have to "futz" with :\

      I find it amazing that people don't want to clean a dirty water tank and clean the machine a bit. It seems to save a lot of time w/ having to vaccuum, empty your vac, then get bucket and mop, or a swiffer (where the pads add up) and deal w/ a few devices rather than one. The only solution is to upgrade to a robot washer that cleans itself. They are over a thousand dollars and only mop. I have a rob vac/mop, but it is way more maintenance than this manual vac mop. It gets stuck everywhere, and needs more cleaning in between floors, plus you have to block it off to keep it from going places you don't want.

    Thank you for your review. I have the S3 Pro, it died today, or it gave me an error that I tried to fix and broke a piece on it. The best value no is just the S5. I save about 400 from the costs of the 7. I will gain the one-side edge cleaner. I really liked my S3 Pro. If the house is extra dirty, I use the house's built-in vacuum first. Lots of long-haired girls and pets in this family. Here are my 2 cents. I tried this. You might want to also. In my first use, I tested how well it cleans.
    Note: everything could be better. 1st, I vacuumed my whole house, 2nd I steamed and mopped my house. It should have been clean. Well, then, I use the S3 Pro... Oh my, how dirty the water was. So that made me feel that when we mop, we move the dirty water around and pick up some. But with the vacuum mop, we pick up a lot of that dirt, and as you use it more often, the water will keep getting cleaner and cleaner with each use. If you want through my house with white socks on, there is a good chance they will stay white. I live in Italy, and we have tile floors, so no carpets to hide the dirt. Do I still deep clean my floors occasionally? Of course. But in 10 minutes, I can clean the main floors enough to let a baby play on them.

    Why would you attempt to pick up a screw with a soft roller brush? 🤷🏿‍♂️

    • @ComputerStuff

      It's not at all uncommon for people to have random things lying around their house, especially if they have kids, such as legos or other small things. It's not a dealbreaker for the unit but I found it curious that a small screw destroyed the brush. The S5 can barely pick up cat litter on a mat (it has terrible suction) so the only thing it did with the screw was bounce it around the housing.

    A screw❓Really❓ You expect it to suck up a screw and suffer no damage❓Hmmmm🤔.
    I don't own one which is why I'm here watching your vid which I found good and informative.
    I do however own a karcher hard floor cleaner which has had slightly more than little use and the roller drive mechanism has started to intermittently slip and give up the ghost. Not at all impressed with it.
    This to me is primarily a floor cleaner not a vac or spot cleaner as is the karcher.
    I would only use it to properly clean my laminate flooring after vacuuming it first.
