Genshin actual core gameplay is truly underappreciated, keep going with this kinds of videos. Fuck all the stupid comparisons with the other gacha game, I play Genshin for this fact and no other gacha game can provide the same experience.
Ochkanatlan is definitely my new favorite place. Keep exploring there is some crazy lore here! Of the other areas I think sumeru desert is my favorite area even though it is a pain to explore.
Seeing the sky area gave me full body goosebumps when I played through it. This has absolutely been one of my favorite areas. I see so much Dark Souls parallels with all the fire/humanity themes, and the castle itself reminded me a little bit of Anor Londo. Something beautiful and dead. I kept thinking about Enkanomiya, too, especially with the feathery plants/trees. Another area of beautiful death. I was worried I wasn't going to like Natlan as much as Fontaine and Sumeru, but I'm genuinely so happy that every update feels like the devs are building off things they've learned and trying new stuff. Nobody will ever get things 100% right for everybody, but the effort put into worldbuilding fills my heart with joy. It was fun watching your sense of discovery mirror my own :)
If you didn't read the interactable note to the left at 4:59, it has some extra context for a smaller separate world quest in Ochkanatlan as well as this one.
Ochkanatlan was definitely my favourite area to explore. It's incredibly beautiful and vast. I just wish it wasn't so... empty? There's a distinct lack of chests and puzzles for an area that size. 5.0 had 4 areas with 408 chests, while 5.2 has 3 areas and 202 chests... And it's not about primogems, I just wish there was more to do? Even if the chests were over all less in value, I wish there were more of them to find
Pretty sure the reason why swimming is locked to Fontaine is because only the Fontaine statues grant the underwater breathing, hence why vision bearers can swim underwater in the region, and why you can't swim in Natlan.
@@gobelet1485 i understand the lore aspect, i just don't agree with it from a gameplay perspective. seems silly to go through all of the work adding unique animations for every character just to use them for a tiiiiny portion of the map
Chenyu Vale is still my favorite place, with possibly Enkanomiya after that, but they really knocked it out of the park with Ochkanatlan. The only reason it's not my favorite area is because they consistently deliver fantastic areas, haha. Some of the implied lore around the Sage, Xiuhcoatl, and Xbalanque really has me making lore enjoyer 👀eyes at what's to come for the rest of Natlan.
Fun fact, the "cotton candy" trees we see in Ochkanatlan are born from high Abyssal contamination, we first saw then in the Sumeru desert, that last area before Fontaine Edit: Also, Och Kan and Ochkanatlan don't have the "CH" mute!
@snakeinthereeds you learn from it in the Sumeru desert, pretty sure it's on the Khavarena quest line at some point, since it's the first time we actually see them, and from that point own those trees kept showing in some abyss related places
Also do you know that the clouds above Ochkanatlan are one of the few instance of volumetric cloud implementation in the entire game? I remember they did the same to the stone forest in liyue but only exclusively on console.
I can't wait for Mare Jivari,, I just know it is going to be as peak as Ochkanatlan,, like the random lore drops, the scenery.. Its just so amazing, This ancient civilization ruins type of zones are just so peak man
Honestly I'm disappointed by Ochkanatlan. The world quest doesn't really address any of the lore that was set up in artifacts and stuff. We don't learn anything about the rebellion, we don't learn anything about the Scarlet-Eyed Youth, we don't learn anything about the Craftsman or why one of the other rebels had his name erased from history. We don't learn _anything_ about the Turnfire - what is it? How did Och-Kan come to possess it? How did Yupanqui steal it? Who knows. And it barely answers the questions the quest itself raises. How and why did Och-Kan become corrupted by the Abyss? What was the bitter pill he swallowed and why did he do it? I feel like we'll never have answers to any of these questions.
You need to wait alil and let Devs cook... Ochkanatlans def did address certain artifact/material lore (evolution, och-kan and his mask, dragon lore in general) but it was more focused with both the lead up and aftermath of the rebellion, rather than the detail of how it occured. But we did learn some stuff abt the rebellion. I think the craftsman Ur talking abt is maybe manqu???? His lore hasn't been revealed too much, but we do know how he died and the one we met is fake. Ochkan separated his mind and body to protect the ppl, but after he "died" his father, the dragon sage turned his body into the evil dragon . Not sure abt the bitter pill BC U don't remember all the dialogue sorry 😭😭😭 In kinich's story quest, a certain someone was investigating abt the turnfire. And in iktomi scrolls event, I believe the same person is also looking into mare jivari. It's mentioned that the turn fire burnt it's way into the leylines and into the night kingdom, and apparently sanhaj summoned and blew a mini night kingdom in mare jivari.... I Def think that if the Devs do want to expand on turnfire lore, it's Def gonna be in mare jivari so be hyped for that ✨

Ochkanatlan is amazing! My jaw dropped when we got to the new sky map layer. Makes me excited for Celestia lol

@@ankitjadhav6775 Mare Jivari is around or near the Volcano right at least that's what I got from the Iktomi Event.
