I’m American. My grandparents were all from Ireland. One worked the mines in Wales to earn passage to the United States. Great job, guys. You do Wales…and Ireland…proud. 🇺🇸🇮🇪🏴
Think it's from Brendan Behan's Borstal Boy - there is a short poem in there that ends "God help the Welsh, they will never be free". Behan was likened to our Dylan Thomas - both of whom went in similar circs.
I’d go to Dublin for the Wales game every two years in the 90s....all the pubs were full of fans having sing offs, Molly Malone v Sloop John B..great times
That sounds like a fantastic thing to see and hear, as a great x 3 grandson of Irish Convicts sent to Van Diemans land (Tasmania) that touched my heart, a beautiful lament.
They just nailed it. Without stewing in it. So disciplined. Well done the Welsh gents. Would love to hear a few thousand Welshmen blast this out after a few pints. In Baile Atha Cliath. The way they tweaked it would silence the home crowd. Without doubt.
Nope , the roof would be raised a few feet, as would the hearts of all who heard it and all who sang it . Welsh, Irish or anyone else. From an Irishman and proud.
My abiding memories of Scotland Wales matches, fine singing. If you sang bass, you were gold, boyo! So these Treorchy, Swansea, Bridgend boys told me. Beautifully sung.......and Wales fans ALWAYS do a great Flower of Scotland. Will be cheering on our Celtic cousins! 🍻🍻
By brother Funeral they play the fields of Athenry and when I hear the song it makes me tear up also l remember the Irish football fans singing it at a football match against Spain it brought goose bumps my friend ask me what are they singing l had to contact my Nephew in England and ask what are singing when told me my friend went out brought it it doesn't matter who singing this song weather at a football match or a Rugby match it brings you to tears
Watched that match here in Spain-Ireland was being given a walloping by Spain but The Fields never sounded better!! My Spanish pals couldn't understand why the Irish seemed so happy.....!!Saw a few signs that day ''Ankela Merkel thinke we're working''
Years ago, at any sporting event that included Wales, the Welsh fans sang their national anthem as though they were one enormous choir that had been training for months. I wonder if that is still true today.
Quality. Great voices. Great emotion. Worth noting where they all spent their formative years.....by examining their ears. Just saying from experience...
Love this version by this rugby team and have shared it with a number of my mates who sing in a Welsh choir in BC as well as the Londoners. One of my favourite songs.
Excellent rendition boys you did a fantastic job and the harmonies were top class and theirs no fans anywhere like rugby fans no matter where your from.
Fantastic lads respect from Ireland
Even a Scotsmen loves this song and rendition
This kind of thing is why there is no sport like Rugby. Very well done boys. (From England)
Loved watching the Lions (English ones included) singing this one with gusto. Fair play John Bull, from America
@@phillipraymond6748 You are right. We are rugby first and anything else second.
Fabulous lads; I felt a bit choked...
Nothing like Welshmen singing. Does the heart good.
I have just found this,There is nothing like rugby .
Beautiful. Before the pandemic destroyed our world
Irish Grandparents and Welsh Parents. Love this so much Common Unity of our lands
One of my favourite songs sung so beautifully by these Welsh boys. Gorgeous!
There's not much better than to hear a stadium full of Welsh men and women sing their national anthem in three part harmony.
Or even 4 part harmony .....

Wasn't it Anthony Hopkins who said "Welsh are Irishmen that never learned to swim!" LOL
Both Celtic, aren't they?

A Welsh Male Voice Choir sings any song from any country better than any other.
I’m inclined to agree. This male Welsh choir is excellent, but Pacific Island or NZ Maori choirs would run them close I feel.
As an Aussie please allow me say thank you gentlemen. That was absolutely terrific to listen to.
I love this song always brings a tear to my eye
The Welsh are great singers and did a great job singing this .Well done Lads . You are welcome here anytime 👍☘️
from a Welshman, the only trouble visiting Ireland, is that you've got to go home at the end.
Potato pickers
@@leejulz1you say that yet when one of your videos is in ireland?
Parts of Ireland r under UK rule so get picking
Get two Welshmen together and you've got a choir Brings tears to my eye.
I remember my Dad's brother asking my dad , let's form a circle and sing Myfanwy. Just the two of them.🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
I'm a quarter Welsh, Scottish, Irish and English, living in Australia but lived for years in NZ. I'm a bit of a confused Rugby fan!!

Welsh Men sing a irish folk Song which is also an LFC Chant.

It started as a Celtic chant
Celtic song
@@irishpride9867 Irish song not a Celtic Football Song. They are British.
