    Wow! I must say, this was the most informative review I’ve ever watched on TH-cam. Mind you, I’ve watched plenty of projector reviews on TH-cam but I like the fact that you went into detail when it came to the projector itself. I also liked that you went into detail with the Anker projector as well. I totally agree with everything you said. I wish you can review the NEW XGimi Horizon Ultra 4K projector they just came out with. That would be awesome!!

    Fantastic review! Thank you. It persuaded me to push the button on it over the Nebula - after watching a ton of reviews. My Samsung LSP7t UST hasjust gone by in for repairs under warranty (white dot / DMD chip), so i brought the Horizon Pro ( It's almost a $1k cheaper than the Samsung) to test out for the next few weeks.

    I really do appreciate that all your hobbies seem to align with mine.
    Particularly because you're my favourite reviewer and your breadth of knowledge with a particular love for audio amongst all the other entertainment hardware means you've really become a bit of a one stop shop.
    Always enjoy your content, happy you're into the same stuff and I'm glad that you're so knowledgeable. Far beyond what I've had the time to delve into myself when it comes to particular individual products.
    Long rambly way to say thanks for the stuff that makes you my favourite reviewer

    If I hook my Nvidia shield to the xgimi and wanna watch a 3d movie will that work? Or do I have to use the android tv on the projector to watch 3d?

    I bought the XGIMI Horizon Pro 4k a year and a half ago. Today, while watching a video, the screen suddenly went blank and I couldn't turn it off. Eventually, I had to unplug the power cord. After reconnecting the power and trying to turn it on with the remote control, I noticed that the projector's power indicator was blinking red, but there was no image.

      A blinking red power indicator light typically indicates an issue with the projector itself. Please check if it has overheating issues.

  • @daitengu989

    I've honestly checked and double checked this projector 50 times in the last 2 years.
    It's always on sale during the Amazon sale in July, however I haven't picked it up yet.
    I'm interested to hear of a different angle in projectors, you talk about Apple TV, default Android TV casting but you never mentioned hooking up your PC through HDMI, and how the experience is.
    I'm basically looking for a TV replacement, but I only use my PC for everything - I have the Netflix app, so it's much easier than switching devices constantly.
    Thoughts?

    • @alexgmrs
      @alexgmrs ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in the same boat, not sure whether I pull the trigger on this one or not. My key concern is the warranty, I live in Sweden and a friend of mine here had issues with this projector, as part of the warranty process he had to send it all the way to Hong Kong, paying for the shipment. it sucks.

    Hi, good review, but, does the horizon support gigabit ethernet?

    • @trendyprojectors4743
      @trendyprojectors4743 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, the XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector does not support gigabit ethernet. It only has a 100 Mbps ethernet port. This means that the maximum download speed that you can achieve with the projector is 100 Mbps. This is not enough for streaming 4K HDR content, which can require up to 25 Mbps.
      The projector does have a Wi-Fi 6 connection, which is capable of speeds of up to 9.6 Gbps. However, the real-world performance of Wi-Fi can be significantly slower than the theoretical maximum. This is because Wi-Fi is affected by factors such as interference from other devices and the distance between the projector and the router.

  • @EL3Y

    Don't buy this projector if you want to watch films off your usb they have used 2.0 usb board that can't even stream 1080p without buffering let alone 4k, very bad choice by them

    • @trendyprojectors4743
      @trendyprojectors4743 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand your concern about the XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector's USB 2.0 ports. While it is true that USB 2.0 has a theoretical maximum transfer rate of 480 Mbps, which is not enough to stream 4K content without buffering, the real-world performance of USB 2.0 can be even slower. This is because USB 2.0 is a shared bus, which means that multiple devices can be connected to the same bus and compete for bandwidth. Additionally, USB 2.0 devices can be affected by factors such as the quality of the cable and the speed of the computer or device that they are connected to.
      I have seen some reports of users streaming 4K content from USB flash drives to the XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector without buffering. However, these reports are anecdotal and may not be representative of the typical experience. It is possible that these users were using high-quality USB flash drives and that they were not streaming the most demanding 4K content.

    I do not understand people who want these products. I understand the market exists. I just don't get why.
    Their performance is destroyed by a $1200 75" tv, and no need to buy a screen. Unless ALL you care about is image size, this is a stupid purchase. Any moderately priced projector is.

    • @GadgetryTech
      @GadgetryTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From a pure picture quality I totally agree. I think the benefit for an application like mine is to have the 135" screen outside for when we have large gatherings in the evening. Inside, I'd rather have a large OLED or LED TV, but they still can't approach the size of this, so it comes down to what people prefer more: size vs quality per dollar

    • @justinbeamon6624
      @justinbeamon6624 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's all about the immersion. If you're in a room with a 120-150" projector screen, going from that to a 75 inch tv is like looking through a porthole. It's a joke in terms of the overall experience. No one can watch a movie through that in a large room and have a comparable experience, doesn't matter how good of picture quality it has. You won't be able to even see what's going on. With that said these DLP's have mediocre contrast for most all of them except for a few like the Formovie Theater and a couple others. Once the .67" chip gets widely produced we'll see these devices increase in picture quality a lot I think. You really need to step up to the LCOS stuff to experience close to OLED qualty.
