I gave it my best shot and tried to watch this game but ended up preferring ALA TN and then Boise ST and BYU. Just more entertaining brand of football. ! Despite all of the hoopla the white out thing the noise etc, these are the two dullest football teams to watch in college football Seems like all these big 10 teams are exactly alike. They all play big, white and slow, and that makes for a dull experience for the casual observer. (Throw Notre Dame in that mix as well.) While that philosophy may be the ticket to victory in the Big 10 it sure is no recipe for success if the goal is to win or even be competitive for national championships most if not all of the time.
Dennis Smathers I feel what you’re saying brother. But the new recruiting system has every big program flocking to get Florida, Texas and California recruits like the gold rush. So the big ten has to make do with the best football players from the Midwest. But make no doubt about it. These slow white dudes can play some football it’s in the blood of of Ohio, penn and Michigan football players. These teams are able to beat your Alabama’s Clemson’s and Oklahoma’s. But where the big ten messes up when they play those teams. Is that they totally switch up their style when they play those teams. Instead of sticking with big ten football ( hard nose). They try and get fancy and become pass happy spread formation wannabes. Big ten beats themselves. Because that old school brand of football still works in 2019. Keep Alabama and tua off the field and you leave your team with a great chance to win the game in the fourth quarter.
@@xaviourcammon1475 Id like to think you are right, but as I envision either one of these teams lining up against Clemson, (or Alabama) I see a 30 point loss. They simply arent quick enough, mobile enough or fast enough to deal with the top echelon ACC SEC programs. I am not sure Oklahoma is either. Yall need to schedule some of these quality teams as non conference opponents to at least SEE what you are up against. You might do well, who knows? But I think they will show some glaring weakness in the Big 10 game, and right quick. This is JMO, based on some lopsided playoff scores in playoff games.
Penn State has one of the craziest crowds I have ever seen. It's what makes college football so great!

neetrab that’s a ridiculous thing to say when u look at the box score and then take into account it was a road game for Michigan and penn st benefitted from some horrendous officiating. Very first td for penn st should not have counted it was offensive pass interference. I am convinced that crew does not know what offensive pass interference is. They later on took a big play away from Michigan because Michigan’s wr slowed down when he was running and then jumped?

Games like this one make people like the college game more than the pro game.

Nope. I don't do moral victories. I'm a 20 year old "kid", and I'd be thrilled to be as blessed athletically as these 5-star recruits. I'd also be thrilled to make 9 million dollars to coach a bunch of 5-stars- only to lose big games. That's the problem- Ohio State has MEN playing football- we have a bunch of kids who aren't tough and come out of a game more timid than a turtle on the interstate. People who work honest jobs invest too much time and money into this team to see them come up short YEAR AFTER YEAR!

phobos57 Michigan outplayed Penn State tonight, they just had a few too many mistakes. Refs missed some crucial calls (including a potential PI on the last dropped pass), but not just against Penn State. It was great to see UM fight, we haven’t seen this all year

The way Michigan played in the second half was scary. If they play like that for 60 minutes, they’ll finish out the year at 10-2. They had that whiteout awfully silent at times. KJ Hamler is a future top 10 pick. Fun game to watch as an outsider
Didn't know Michigan hired harbaugh to only play one half of football per game. That's crazy...guess Michigan fans are all about moral victories nowadays which is pretty pathetic.

Penn states quarterback threw some of the best passes I've ever seen.

Or leaving clean pockets, which meant his receivers were covered and he tried to make a play using his feet. I simply said he threw some of the best passes I have ever seen. you could of responded with something more relevant to my comment.

I haven't been this wound up during a game since the 2016 "JT was short" game. I love the heart the guys showed but man, the coaches need to pull it together. Don Brown, quit leaving our guys on these islands!!!! Ronnie is a baller and I really wish he caught that. Here's to hoping the team can keep this offensive prowess going and wont fold the rest of the year

Looking back on how stacked that 2019 Penn State Roster was it’s a crying shame that they didn’t make a CFB playoff appearance.
Really makes you appreciate how good Michigan has been on the lines the last few years. Add in the NFL scheme on both sides and it's clear just how great Michigan was this past year. 15-0

21-0 to start and then michigan figured something out... QB calmed down and figured out his snap procedure some, though lots of calls on Mich O and D for off sides. Refs were equally horrendous, but more PSU implications for TD's and killing drives, Michigan ref errors had less implications. Pretty good game all in all. Louder than Kinnick last week, but both were awesome environments. Kinnick had the F-35's and corn growing in front of the stadium though...

I could not have had a better game for my FIRST PENN STATE game. 110,000+ people screaming for 4 quarters and pre-game. It was amazing! Except for the poor officiating, both schools and respective fans were "classy". And this was after 8 hrs of tailgating. I now understand why Penn State Alum LOVE their school!

Best game I watched on Saturday was this one - by far. Michigan almost pulled it out on road at Penn state - not easy to do. Buckeyes did it few years ago. Two good defenses and both offenses were relentless. Great game
Illinois upset win over Wisconsin and BYU's upset over Boise State were also great games to watch. Oregon's win over Washington was another good game.

Damn what a game. Coming from a Michigan fan I would be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed but the way we played against that team in the second half was phenomenal. If we were to play that all game, we would have won 42-7 again. Some of the calls against the refs were for sure questionable but that doesn’t take away the fact that Michigan fought from being down 21-0

As a Michigan fan, we should have gone to overtime but I am somewhat happy. Our offense showed it can play pretty well and converted on 4th down like 3 times. Shea especially fought hard that second half

Two of the refs waved arms back and forth and the fans saw that and celebrated because waving their arms back and forth means it was down at the 1. They changed their call after digging through the pile...almost as like Patterson couldn't go across the goalline after he was down.

Sean Clifford and KJ Hamler are underrated players in the nation. Hamler should be a top candidate for the Biletnikoff Trophy.
The problem with that duo is that Clifford has other weapons to choose from, but he rather focus on KJ most of the time.

KJ is dynamic, but if he is Penn State's passing game, they shouldn't expect to beat Ohio State, Michigan State, or Minnesota.
I can see so many similarities between how Michigan played here and when they lost to OSU in 2018. Patterson throwing instead of the offense trying to run the ball turned the game around and when the catches were made that crowd got nervous. Excited to see how the offense and a new QB look for the 2020 season. Minnesota is excited to test our new strength against a team that steamrolled us back in 2017.

Clifford looks like an NFL QB throwing the deep ball, but looks like a practice squad QB trying to make any underneath throw. Really kills a drive when you can’t hit open receivers in the short/intermediate game and have to rely on the big throw down the field.
And Penn State needs to cut the RB rotation. Noah Cain is the only back we have who can consistently pound the rock. Only had 5 carries coming off back to back 100 yard games.
I think the "(Reggie) Bush Push" is bad for CFB. I just don't think you should be able to push a guy into the end zone. Thoughts?

I disagree, So a defense can gang tackle a runner but the offense can’t do nothing but just watch their teammate get tackled?? That’s dumb logic to me always has been. The offense should be able to help or get rid of gang tackling and make it fair. Now that just sounds idiotic doesn’t it.
Brent Pry got out played in the second half and once again terrible playcalling from Rahne and the refs weren’t giving us any help for the second straight week, but a win is a win. Props to Michigan for a hard fought game tho.

Michigan played with heart, from a PSU fan. That missed holding call on that one drive was horrendous though. Officiating has been trash at all levels.

Adam Jung Definitely tricky. The only thing with them is they have played literally nobody. They almost lost every non conference game against some pretty bad teams and so far in the big ten it’s been the bottom teams that they’ve beaten. We shall see

Patterson still just dinks and dunks, he does not throw down the field. Penn State did.
It is hard not to want to react harshly, but I am not a fan of how Michigan tend to set themselves up for failure by playing without passion at the beginning of ballgames, the one thing that has improved has been their ability to recover and make a game of it after a while, but that is far from what anyone can call playoff quality. I am not a fan of Patterson’s play, but it may have to do with their offensive scheme rather than the quarterback.

Penn State played sloppy in the 2nd half, especially the defense. Too many missed tackles. Need to clean those up before playing a tough opponent.
