    250 rummynose in a big aquarium is definitely on my list. Super Jealous! Good choice Buddy.

    The first shot of the school swimming off into the darkness was so cool , with a shadows and the stained water it reminded me of laying on the deck of my bass boat in the springtime watching schools of bass fry swim off and disappear into the shadows of the weeds.

    Freakin awesome! I like rummy nose tetras because if you ever have an issue with water quality, as you know their noses lose that nice red tint. They are like live water quality indicators. Plus they look awesome in a huge school. Nice choice señior.

    Rummys are sweet, but I've had such bad luck with them in my water. I'm at 7.5ish and even my leaf litter and tannin tanks don't help them. I stick to silvertips and praecox for schoolers now.
    Also, is that crypt parva, that your using to carpet?

    Hello! Need some help, please.
    I added some angelfish (7) to my aquarium that already had Guppies, Platies, Ancistrus and Cherry Barbs. My cherry barbs dying one, by one...! Could it be agression?
    They do not have fighting injuries, But they are always hidden, more than previously i think.
    I would like to hear your opinion. Thank you.

  • @stateniland
    @stateniland 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You don't acclimate your new fish 'slowly' to your tank water? I was always told to add some tank water a little at a time to a bag of new fish... this is confusing.

    • @The_Scriggles
      @The_Scriggles 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With shipped fish the water is so toxic after its exposed to air it is too dangerous to acclimate them in the bag. It is far safer to temp acclimate and drop into the tank immediately after opening the bag.

    • @STELLASCUTENESS
      @STELLASCUTENESS 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unless you counter it chemically, most shipping bags will have built up ammonium in them (a relatively harmless version of ammonia). The ammonium is due to the respiration and waste of the fish, coupled with increasing amounts of CO2. (The CO2 lowers the pH in the bag, resulting in the relatively harmless ammonium.) HOWEVER, once you open the bag, oxygen replaces most of the built up CO2, that raises the pH, and the ammonium converts to ammonia - a VERY TOXIC situation.

    • @thomasmacpherson9563

      Tannins is the discolouement of the water, usually produced by new wood in the tank, its not bad for the tank or fish just turns the water brownish colour. What tips would u like to know?

    Very nice tank, the sump looks a little more difficult to access for me personally (just saying). I've kept RMT's before, and they're my favorite Tetra and they are a great schooling fish... the only thing about Tetras, they aren't the smartest, or resilient fish, compared to say.. barbs... even say a smaller species barb--- like a Cherry Barb. If you're not careful you can easily lose your RMT's (although only 1 out of 250 is great). Not a lot of room for error in my experience with these little fishes. Looking forward to more videos of this CO, please keep us (INTERNET) up to date!! Excellent work as usual.

    Won’t adding that many fish cause a nitrogen spike? Also feeding heavily would create ammonia in the tank as well right? Then add in the frequent water changes to stall out the nitrogen cycle. I’m not an expert but this seems like more harm then good. Sure the fish might survive But why put them through all that stress?
