Dude, I have literally never soldered anything in my life. I called the local electronics company they said it would be $100 minimum to put on a new cable. I found a soldering kit for $70 and did it myself thanks to your video. So much appreciated! God bless, and thanks again!
Hey man, that's so awesome to hear! Definitely not an easy first solder but I'm stoked you did it by yourself! Even saved 30 bucks 😃 Thanks for your reply man, really appreciate it. Have a good one!
Hmm pretty sure I've done the same thing. Mine was always wrapped round like that too. Ordered a new cable. Let's hope that's the issue. Thanks for sharing the process.
Hey man great video thanks for sharing. How did you know the cable was right, I saw some TRS to TRRS and TRS to TRS and I'm not sure which one is the correct replacement I hope you can help, thank you :D
Hey thanks for reaching out! I looked at how many "zones" the original cable of the mic had. I was only able to count 3, so I bought a TRS one which would have 3 zones as well. I would go with only TRS. It makes the most sense to me 😃
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS Are you able to provide a link or a more detailed description of the cable you bought? I need to do the same repair urgently and don't want to get the wrong one
Hello ! I fixed mine by just cutting a quarter of the original cable (the part that was tangled the most) and it indeed worked, but l ordered a similar red TRS to TRS cable (wanted to get the curls as well) and l just found three very thin cables inside once cut, never managed to make it work (there was a copper colored one, a red and a blue). Do you have any idea why ?
Sorry for the late reply dude. I can't tell you for sure but let me try and help out. You could use a multimeter to determine which cable was which on the old one and then check the same thing on the new one. like which color is which part of the metal tip that goes into the camera.
Hey thanks for reaching out 🙂 Unfortunately while going through france i have only recorded a couple of vlogs that are already up and i've shot footage for the travel video. I didn't know people would want to see vlogs! I will keep that in mind for future trips, thanks 😍
You're right, i did wire them together. It didn't make any sense to me either but that's how the previous cable was connected as well. You can see me desoldering it in the video too. I guess that's how it's supposed to be 🤷🏼♂
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS Thanks for responding. I thought this mic was a mono mic but was surprised when my cable got damaged and only one channel was recording which I detected on my video editor. So this IS a stereo mic. Thanks for your repair video, I need to replace my cable. I will use a spliced AUX cable.
Mine has 3 pads not 2 and I found it quite difficult to remove the existing wires and replace them without damaging the board or adjacent components as it's quite tight.
I may as well of been watching brain surgery, ain’t no way I’m doing this successfully. Would definitely pay for someone else to do this rather than fuck it up entirely
@@ARTVENTUREFILMS for the kind of money they're gettin' for microphones at least they could put a female stereo jack in so a new cable with jacks can just be plugged in using a cable length desired like decent headphones use !

Is the sound quality same after changing the cable? Please let me know.
yeah man, sounds exactly the same :)
Hi bro. You using trs-trs cable?
Yes, these should be the right cables and i had one too. It just means three conducting elements at the tip right?
Will probably try this myself.. I don't want to buy a new one... wish me luck!
Good luck! I think you can do it!
Hey, I have N3594, I guess it's pretty much the same...right? In worst case scenario it already was broken :D
Hey! Did it work out for you in the end? I wouldn't know if it's the same, but the chances are high.
Awesome! thanks for posting! Going to do this on my VideoMic pro now!
No worries! glad i could help!

Didn't you just wire the left and right channels together? The red and white wires are for stereo.

Merci! Je n'arrivais pas à fixer le vis arrière qui avait sauté quand j'avais par mégarde ouvert le côté carte à puce au lieu du côté pile!
