Nice video. I enjoy seeing different brands of machinery working in the field. Looks like they got the swath with dialed in well on the rake. The baler tractor didn’t weave much at all to get the nice shaped bales.
@@piperdoug428 gotcha 👍🏻 I used to use coveredge but when I would butt the bales together in a line I would get mold between the bales because the round edges made a place for water to run into. I could get the 4x5’s tight enough together to where it wouldn’t be a problem. But the heavier 5x5’s I couldn’t get them butted up tight enough. They’d mold every time. My Deere 458 didn’t rip the net too often at all. But the new holland br780 does it quite a bit. On your baler your spiral roller might be chewed up a little bit and causing it to tear with the coveredge
Awesome video, I work for Vermeer in Pella, Ia. I use to pull the materials to make the 604/605 balers for the welders and I helped assemble the 504’s for a few weeks. I currently work in plant 4 and assemble large brush chippers. Great company to work for and they make some awesome pieces of equipment from Ag, environmental , utility to small construction equipment.
Kinda interesting the kinds of equipment the old Dutch company has stuck with over the years. They seem to shy away from the high tech gadgets as much as possible but still built well.
Another Fine video Mike! You were close to me in Michigan. I noticed the lightning in the background ... be sure to wear Rubber sole shoes. Don't want to see you as a good conductor.
Hey I ran a vermeer hay rake like that except I had to actually hook the bars myself and put the pen in so the bars wouldn't break away from where I had them stationed good work out when you use your muscles

Hey Mike aren t all the the four cylinder tractors of the different same, lamborghini, hürlimann, und deutz- fahr brands produced at Treviglio in italy? Or even in turkey?
I keep posting this, but I really like the looks of these D-F tractors. Been to Olivet many, many times. All around it as well. Gonna have to keep my eyes open for this D-F tractor now. Hey, now you're going to have to talk that farm you help out on into buying a D-F 🙂 Do these guys actually have a brick and mortar dealership around there somewhere now? If so, where? We'll go pay them a visit one weekend this year and check out what they have.
With the Duetz Farh do u you know it the loader has a locking system similar to Kabota? Great video and you definitely don't see Duetz tractors anymore
@@farmhandmike the problem with that is you have bales at the ends that can get in the way - Each time he turns he leaves a triangular area not rowed up. We either use a rotary rake or a merger and you get all the grass in one shot
I enjoyed watching a great video some videos on baling they do a bad job yours are great. I wouldike to demo some some of them tractors
I enjoyed your video's very much.
I also am a hay producer in Michigan.
I have been hay farming for 48 years and hay technology has come a long way.
Love your videos especially the drone shots. Wish I had one when I was farming. Would have made a difference in yield and labor.
Awesome video! I work for a vermeer dealer in iowa and love running yellow balers.
Grand equiptment! 😃
Thanks a lot for showing! 😊👍🏻

some nice tight bales they had there. Some different from the old Allis roto balers of long ago. Dave D.
Hello! A fine little tractor!
What a nice hay making setup👍😉 thank you for the video👍
Nice to see it's not just older balers that have issues with the edge of the netwrap getting chewed off
I’ve noticed new ones do it worse
@@nalley6815 i quit using Edge-wrap on my JD568
@@piperdoug428 so do you use net at all?
@@nalley6815 yeah just 64" x 9000

Good video, enjoyed it.Regards from Down Under.
Like the New Deutz Tractor. Never seen a Hay rake,
Great video. Awesome combination of Duetz and Vermeer together. Both great companies!

Mike, can you please talk a little about the top of that canopy and what exactly is there? Just a vent, totally removable sunroof/loader view etc.
Look at all the Deutz tractors on this channel now!!!!

Yes there is a dealer in Olivet
@@farmhandmike Thanks. Going to go check it out soon.
Just found out that Vermeer is from Iowa. Always assumed they're from the Netherlands

Thanks, I'm not sure what Kubota has for a locking system to say if its similar.
Good video
👍
Looking at the hay it was just barely dry enough
Big rain was coming and they were going to wrap the bales
@@farmhandmike good move to get it done. Until 10 days ago here in central Alberta it was nothing but a rainstorm for two months
What's the thing in the sky in the background??
About how much did each bale weigh?
Are still working for versatile
No I left Versatile in June
I like Mike less videos on TH-cam from the imperial co California.
Too bad you didn't show if the baler tried to bale the hay that was not raked on the end rows.
Why would you try to bale hay that isn’t raked? Makes no sense
Did you have any malfunctions on the Deutz Fahr tractor, was it made in Italy?
The rake seems a bad design - misses alot on the ends / around the field perimeter
I'm not sure what you mean? he's turning on the ends but when he was all done he went around the field to get the ends.
