    Do you feel like you're getting a real sence of all these different shocks abilities riding these glorified footh paths. I don't want to seem like im dogging you as im a big fan of the channel and watch every video but it just seems like you're barely scratching the surface of these shocks capabilities thus giving a review where you're not pushing the shock to its potential on more challenging terrain. I heard you saying you're most comfortable on flowey blue trails but it just seems you're not targeting the majority of riders who will use these burley shocks on harder more DH/ Enduro type terrain. And please, don't take this as me insulting your abilities or your channel, you and the channel are awesome.

      Blue pounding flow trails are most demanding terrain. Had the same question in the back of my head.

      @OtterMTBtech  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alexandrepopa4917 Whenever I question the performance of a shock or setup of it, I take it to a DH line, and the same goes true. So the simple flow line is enough for me to compare it. Sorry to hurt your Rockshox fan boy feelings, but brands like DVO, EXT, Fox do damping better. I didnt need to try it elsewhere. I am EXT fan boy that was worth trying somwhere else.
      Blue flow trails are the hardest on bikes, AKA bike park moon dust carpidly cyclcing the shock and linkage, is more rough on a bike that DH loamer. Granted a Rocky DH line is proably worse

    C1 is the designation for the model generation, not the tune. The previous generation Vivids (imperial sized) were B1 and the model before that was A2. Your box shows the tune codes, R55 for rebound and C30 for compression.

    I appreciate Your deep dives on the suspension, and there is no other content like that- it's very helpful and fun to watch:)
    Can You please help me make a decission for a coil? I'm thinking between the Vivid ultimate coil tuned for my Santa Cruz Nomad, and the EXT Storia V3 which I found on sale now. The cheapiest I found them is 520e with one coil for Vivid and 830e with 2 coils for EXT, so the price difference is significant but I'm ready to pay more if is is worth it. I'm an average in terms of weight and skills but I spend most of the time on more demanding black diamond trails often in bikeparks. I'm just curious what would be Your pick😊

      It’s harder to get ext serviced. Something to be said when you have matching Zeb and vivid. It looks cool.
      The performance of the EXT is substantially better the true step up if setup right on EXT.
      Vivid is hard to setup wrong
      The bladder style EXT on another universe. Those are never on sale.

    • @TomekMajchrzak

      @@OtterMTBtech Thanks a lot! Seems like I'll stick to the Vivid this time. The V4 has fixed all the issues from the V3 (bladder, adjustment and noise) but it costs way more then I'd like to spend, and the Vivid with its features and ease of use and service seems like a reasonable offer, with a bit of weight panalty. Santa Cruz often mix brands, so as I have a Fox 38 upfront it doesn't matter for me to stick to one brand.

    Sup Otter, I've watched several of your videos and I take your opinion seriously. I'm on the market for a coil shock for an Orbea Wild, as you mentioned on a previous video there are fitment issues on this frame. After learning from you I know I want good trail sensitivity so bladder and as much pop as possible. I'm not made out of money 🤣 so I'm looking at the first gen DVO jade or an used Ohlins TTX. What's your opinion or recommendations, thanks. Keep up the good work!

    • @OtterMTBtech
      @OtterMTBtech  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@davidguzman8992 there is inherent amount of risk buying used. 90% of the shocks I rode here are used. As long as it’s not getting used Cane Creek you’re clear for take off.
      Despite the hater comments here saying I suck, which I do and only ride green loops, ( pounding blue flow trails are the most demanding terrain) I test ride the same trail over and over on every shocks the bladder will not give you the pop of an air shock,
      Unfortunately, I just read the reviews of the wild and it’s only 24 progressive in the rear and so you may run into problems with the DVO so we need at least a progressive spring. And it may not be enough to stop bottom out. Depending on your weight and how big you send.
      I would carefully select a used EXT shock with hydraulic bottom out, then ohlins. Vivid is getting good so it’s a good option because the HBO. It’s just a few milli second delay for the pop. Even the EXT is delayed when they used the IFP. That’s why they discontinued the IFP shocks.
      I didn’t get the Wild because Fitment, so all those shocks may not fit
