Jimmy, add some stubby tips to the wing stubs on the Elvis Jet. It will look better, amuse people, keep law enforcement happier, and net you more interest from visitors.

Jimmy - the Elvis jet wing roots should be capped with what would look like stubby wings. Best looking solution. The more it looks like a plane, the more successful your conversion will be.

Pay a visit to Lycoming in Williamsport, PA. I walked in the door and introduced myself as a long-time operator of their engines. Next I knew there was a VP right there asking if id like a tour. It was amazing. From raw castings to shipping.
On the Elvis Jet wing roots, you ought to make two signs to fill in that area. An image of Elvis and "Don't Be Cruel" on the left side and "Heartbreak Hotel" on the right side.

for the Elvis jet and the old instruments you are putting in I would gut the old RADAR and put an LCD screen in that has Backup camera display
I agree. An actually working weather radar could be cool, but also could wreck havoc on other things on the ground. And would probably be illegal without the normal station license issued for airborne use.

I actually have an 8 track player that I bought in Alaska 35 years ago and when I packed it up to remodel my house, it still woked.
Geeked out on a radial engine cut away the same way, love it!
That counter weight is called a “dynamic dampener” ! Makes for a smooth running engine.
First thing I thought of when I saw those tapes was the brand new (still in the box) Motorola 8 track player I just installed in a 69 Mustang.

Jimmy, on the Elvis Jet RV you need to install side skirts with storage somewhat like the original RV had. Both sides all the way back. Put a plumb line from the outer side of fuse straight down, that's where they should be. Frames of welded up square 1/8 wall x 2" Aluminum tubing maybe?...Moses
I would have loved a tour of the BD-5 that was in the background of the Aerostar segment.

They are currently at a 18 month order to delivery time frame.
The only thing I know about those dynamic counterweights is if you hear any chatter from an engine equipped with them....change a power setting immediately.

at the Bell System Company America Tel and Tel we had cord polish machines that we used to keep them working in the switch boards for year. To change them was more difficult in the soft cords. but had in military in the 1960 for headsets with two jack systems as mike cord and PTT with a phone plug of the earphones

Jimmy that mike jack is the one we who have been around for more year than you know as a tip ring ring sleeve jack used a push to talk with the ground and mike hot. long time radio equipment type of jack and plug jack use in old radio and telephone equipment. as lots of different jacks and plugs that Bell Labs developed for different equipment uses. main use was switch board for telephone company uses that than made there ways into other uses
I believe we might still have been using them in some Cessna twins in the late 70s. The jacks had a reputation for making poor contact on the sleeve contacts and often needed replaced well before one would expect.
