This reminds me of Big E's short WWE title reign. He won the championship by cashing in his MitB contract on Bobby Lashley, who had just defended the belt against Randy Orton. It was a fluky way to win the title, and Big E wasn't booked too well as the champion. Feels like they only put him in this position to shut up the internet fans.
I remember watching this back in the day and being excited and confused that Chris won it and i wasn't even watching TNA so didn't even who Chris Sabin was no joke 🤣

I love the option C thing. It elevates the X division championship and is an easy way to get someone into the main event without losing. A pet peeve of mine is when a wrestler e.g. Gunther loses the midcard belt, doesn't ask for a rematch for whatever reason and then goes after the world championship.
I really, really like both Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, but neither man should have sniffed a world title. That said, Shelley did a solid job with the strap imho. It brought in no new fans, and got zero mainstream coverage whatsoever, but if you were watching it was solid stuff...
Sabin's character as champ was the killer, I felt, he became the opposite of his solo/MCMG character. Chris is a great wrestler and deserved his brief moment at the summit.
Chris Sabin should have been world champion longer he was one of the best wrestlers in the company. Glad both him and Shelley had world title gold though
As a Sabin fan growing up with mid/late-00’s TNA, it was nice to see him finally get some flowers, despite how underwhelming his title reign ended up being.
