Fun fact. The match with New Jack at Wrestlepalooza 98 saw Bigelow stall a lot for time, and ended with Bigelow having to carry New Jack back into the ring for the finish as he couldn't stand, let alone walk. New Jack had to see a doctor in Georgia the next day and then another one back in Philadelphia. Where he claimed to have numbness in his left arm and leg. In other words, a possible heart attack. However he would later reveal in a shoot where he discussed 1998 in ECW, that he had actually been snorting cocaine that day (I know, I'm shocked as well), and had done way too much to where he was barlely able to stand due to how fast his heart was beating. It's not up there in quality of say Bret Hart carrying the British Bulldog at Wembley in 1992, when Davey Boy was strung out on crack. But credit to Bigelow still for carrying him through.
Okay 2 things: 1. The reason it didn't seem like he was giving his all in ECW was because he really wasn't. He had just been let go by the fed because the Kliq (Shawn, Nash, Hall, Waltmen) didn't like how he publicly talked about how they would use their sway to get waht they wanted. He was also supposed to get a major Babyface push and a SummerSlam match against Diesal for the belt (Why that SummerSlam's tagline was "Face the Heat") but he was fired and Mabel took his place. Bet Nash wishes he faced Bammer instead of Mabel. 2. When RVD and Sabu put Bam Bam through that table one of the edges of the table came up and caught RVD in the eye. It almost cost him that eye.
Cause ecw was a small company and in front of very few fans, also he had pay problems which was a constant in ecw. Bam was a big name in wrestling and ecw was really an indy show. Also most of ecw were not good wrestlers, as any one talented left within in a few months apart from rvd and jerry lynn
You can really feel the impact of those powerbombs through the screen, Bigelow hit hard and move fast, a shame he wasn't consistently treated as a middle upper attraction or a IC/US champ
underrated big man. his hard hitting moveset and fearsome look always made me appreciate him more. quite a funny shooter as I recall, as I remember watching him on the wrestling channel back in the day. salute king. RIP
ECW was possibly Bam Bam Bigelow's best run of his career. He was a former ECW World Heavyweight Champion and former ECW Television Champion. Plus, Bam Bam had two classic spots in ECW: One: pressing Spike Dudley into the crowd and have the fans surf Spike's body. Two: falling into the abyss of the ring with Taz.

Bam Bam Bigelow had an incredible charisma and agility that really amazed others. I loved him as a child. He and the Undertaker were always my favorites.
idk about you but i have fond memories of that corkscrew moonsault because it was in every N64 AKI wrestling game (WCW Revenge, WM2000, No Mercy). i would have the CAW of me use that or the guillotine leg drop, two moves i used to use during my brief career. when i switched to a regular moonsault i broke my neck and that was it after 2 years. dont regret it, got to live a dream and had some great moments!
I wish for the Jeff Hardy clips!!, I miss you just saying Carolina instead of North Carolina!! South Carolina represent! Dirty Myrtle!!! I actually met Matt and Jeff there several years ago! Really really cool guys!

And even in his real life my man was a straight up G! He was passing by a building one day and saw commotion and realized there was a fire going on but there was children still inside and he ran in and got everybody out all while getting himself burned like crazy and he ended up saving everyone! Love Bam Bam🫡
That's the first thing I thought of during the outro. The guy had his demons at that point in his life but he went out a true hero in my book because of that. It's not talked about nearly enough.

I was always a fan of bam bam. So agile for a big guy. He was doing moonsaults and things I couldn't believe he did and made it seem easy. He Should be in the wwe hall of fame.

Hawk, love your videos and watch them all the time. Just one question - could you possibly think about adding the dates to the matches along with the other info? Would be super helpful in contextualising with other stuff going on at the time!
Looking back, Hawk, in the House Party 98 Match RVD was supposed to kick the chair into the ref's face. It looked like either Rob didn't hit the kick right or Bam Bam didn't sell the shot into the ref correctly. Or it could have been both.
i think Bam Bam was cheered at Living Dangerously 98 because that event was in New Jersey so it was a hometown crowd against the guy from New York i feel like Bam Bam could of gone against anyone at that event and would of been the one with cheers

You TOTALLY missed that Bam Bam and Candido where Shane Douglas' new Triple Threat after Benoit and Malenko left. Bam was hyped as even more dangerous than The CripplerChris Benoit which is why Bam Bam is going after Sabu/Taz/RVD. The Build up to November to Remember's 6-man is more between Shane Douglas and Taz

A big man who had some aerial moves. Bam Bam was ahead of his time.
Very much. He'd of been a hell of an X Division guy for tna in the 2000s or even just a great upper card for Black and Gold NXT
I’m pretty sure if he still had it, a run in TNA would have kicked arse!!!!!!
