I live in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. We have snow from October to May. As I child I was excited after a big dump. As an adult it just means dangerous driving. I stay in with a hot drink and a book whenever possible.
It's been unseasonably warm where I live, in Italy, and I haven't seen a single flake of snow yet - the way you showed it to us in this vlog made me feel the crunch under my shoes and the chill under my fingers. Thank you so much! 🥰
Lovely vlog. Fantastic music as well! When you mentioned the lack of daylight I had to do some googling. I like in Calgary, Alberta. We are actually at the same latitude as Edinburgh! I definitely sympathize with the sunrise after 0830 and sunset around 1600 in December.
I already had the Diviner series on my tbr, but hearing you talk about some of the topics that are woven throughout the book (particularly asexuality!!!) I am now even more excited. Might have to start it in January!
Every time I get a notification about a new video of yours, I hear "it's the most wonderful time of the DAYYY"😄Green and golden covers are stunning indeed!
First snow is always so exciting!! I'm a bit further south than you but today has been super cold so we've had thick frost all day and it's just started snowing too - can't remember the last time that happened this side of xmas 😱
@@AFrolicThroughFiction definitely!! And i can only remember one winter in like 2009/2010 where it snowed like this so far south at this time of year, every other time was more around february and that one freak snow storm in march 😂
Could you explain this whole transfers thing for the trip? Never been abroad before (will have by then as I have other plans) so I’m unsure about what’s in the price and what isn’t
Of course! Transfers are all the bits of travel between places - so a bus from the airport to hotel for example. Only thing you should need to buy outside of the price listed is flights (since we’ll all be coming from separate places across the world), insurance and spending money while there! The link will have it all listed on the website to, what’s included and not 🥰
I’ve only done simple journeys by train solo so have the fear too! I’m literally planning to do a short solo flight beforehand to get a bit more comfortable before going Ahaha 😂 would love to have you along if you can! 🖤
The way I laughed when you said “treat yourself for the end of 2023” during the Ana Luisa ad😂. Made me question things. I was like “is it really 2023???” But besides that now I’m scared to start king of crows (picked up the series at your recommendation and tried to keep up) and also suspicious. Like what’s going to happen🕵🏼
So excited for you about your trip! I'm looking at taking a study-abroad semester in the spring, 2 weeks in Poland studying Jewish history, and I'm thrilled! content wise it'll be a tough trip, but I'm excited to see more of the world! This vlog makes me want my exams to be over so I can have a cozy-good-time finishing the year with some fantasy! I'm hoping to reread Legendborn and get to the sequel Bloodmarked before the end of the year, I loved Legendborn when I read it the first time and I've been dying for the sequel for two years
Ooh Poland is lovely, it’s one of the two places I’ve been abroad! Unexpectedly hot in the summer 😂 I hope you manage your legendborn & bloodmarked read! This is the perfect time of year for returning to favourites 🥰
@@AFrolicThroughFiction I didn't know you went to Poland! Where did you visit? What was your favourie place? I don't mean to be nosy, I just live in Wrocław and it's my favourite city, so I get excited when someone is talking about Poland.
@@Belladonna_Q I went to Warsaw! I can’t even remember why it was chosen, I think we just picked a place at random 😂 But so many beautiful buildings and had a fab time just wandering around in the sun and visiting museums! I think The Palace on the Isle (I can’t remember the actual Polish name, apologies for Anglicising it!) was my favourite visit with all of its mythology art 😍 absolutely stunning place
@@AFrolicThroughFiction No worries. I believe you are talking about Łazienki. We went to Warsaw BC (before covid ;-)). Have you been to the Palace of Culture and Science? There are amazing museums there, I liked the one with the vintage dollhouses the most, and my daughter had the most fun in natural history one. I have fond memories of this trip, wish we had more time there. :-)
I've booked with some friends to go to Croatia in May (I've never been), nuts if I had waited a bit I could have gone with you guys haha. My parents went on a similar guided tour round Croatia last year. They said they enjoyed it a lot, but found a lot of the current climate in Croatia rather politically tense. There's apparently a lot of bad feeling near the borders of other Yugoslavic countries with a lot of widespread corruption, and apparently support for Vladimir Putin has been rising there considerably because of Russian propagandists being vocal in that area. I don't say any of this to deter the trip though, it sounds wonderful, I just hope you won't be caught off guard by it if you go. I was initially hesitant about my Croatia trip for just these reasons before finding out that the area I'm visiting (Pula) is largely free of that kind of stuff my parents were talking about. And it does seem that you've really thought all this through by looking at the Trovatrip page, you're really on top of this! 2 Croatia trips in 1 year wouldn't be such a bad thing for me anyway, so if you do end up being one short on numbers let me know; I wouldn't want you to miss out on something you were looking forward to because of a lack of people. If you go into "mum-friend" mode on the trip, then I can go into dad-friend mode haha. Also, thank you for providing my week with some "snow from Edinburgh", it seriously brightened up my day.
The guides tend to visit fairly often to make sure the trip is all up to date and can still run as planned, so there shouldn’t be any issues! 🖤 I hope your own trip is fab and if you do end up fancying a second round, you know where I am 😂
Snow is lovely to look at, from the inside, preferably with a hot drink, a blanket and a book
Agreed 😂 I run around outside u til the novelty wears off and then retreat to the cosy indoors

The absolute queen of B-roll! When I want something cosy and warm I’ll watch a frolic through fiction vlog 😌❄️
I love this 🥹🤎
Your videos are a warm hug. Thank you. 😊

Omg I love this 🥹❄️ happy to share the snow with you!
I have a chronic illness and severe anxiety, your videos always give me such comfort! ♥️

Yaaaaas girl! I love Ana Luisa!
As someone living in York? I'm so jealous! I'm going to be in Gateshead and D&G for a few days over Christmas and I swear there better be snow!!
This is making me miss the snow! I too went out purposefully to run around in the snow on my way to university haha
I'm here and I enjoyed this video :)
Your world takes me away from my reality. I love that. Love you! Have an amazing holiday!
As always love your vlog. Makes me feel all cosy.
Aw I’m glad! 🥰
Snow is so magical ❄️
Reading books from a series back to back is also unheard of from me too!
Every time I get a notification about a new video of yours, I hear "it's the most wonderful time of the DAYYY"😄Green and golden covers are stunning indeed!
Will you show your living room lit up with your fairy lights?
I loved the snow footage, such great videography!!!! I hope you are having an amazing weekend.
Thank you 🥹❄️ it has already snowed again this weekend so more snowy scenes to come!
Snow is great, if you don’t need to go anywhere! I hate driving in the snow, or after it’s snowed it causes so much chaos and stress 😂
Can totally relate to the snow anxiety, I try to avoid going outside when there's snow and ice.
So do I.
It can make things such a faff!

It’s so odd to have it this early right?! I’m sure it’s been years since this happened

I want to go to a christmas market so badly 😭😭😭

I really hope the Croatia trip happens for you, it sounds awesome! I would join if my body agreed, but alas. Maybe in the future when pigs fly 😁
❄️ 🤍 ❄️
Not me considering going to Croatia with a group of book loving strangers when I have never left the state by myself...

Snow and winter is my favorite. Climate change hurts my heart thinking about the possibility of less snow year over year.
There is asexuality in this series? Immediately puts higher on my list
your audio quality is not very good
How so? Seems fine to me and no one else has mentioned it in the 6 years I’ve been doing this 😂
I really want the Fairyloot set of the Diviners series. Any advice on how I might get my hands on them? 🥲
Sadly all I can say is keep an eye out for future restocks in case a few are available again 🤎
