- Characters in fighting games are usually plenty weird enough. How else do you explain a jungle-dwelling electrical ape guy and a yoga master whose limbs can extend 10 times their normal length? In spite of carte blanche to make weird stuff, some fighting games decide that the weirdest move of all would be introduce real, actual, improbable people to the mix. Here are seven of the very weirdest appearances from real people in fighting games. Subscribe for a list like this every Thursday!

I'd say Fred Durst's inclusion in that weird Fight Club game from 20 years ago is much weirder, especially since I don't remember it even having music.
lol right I forgot that game was so bad I’d erased it from my memory
Quite apt seeing as Limp Bizkit shouldn't be classed as music.
Wasn’t Abraham Lincoln also in that game?
@@marksimmons5872 Yes. Yes, he was.
The fight club fighting game somehow manages to miss the point harder than anything or anyone else, and that is compared to some very stiff competition
6:50 Andy making Jane talk about wrestling. Again.
Lmfao!😆😭
I'm pretty sure Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart are real-life pals now, and any collabs they do are just buddies having a blast
Just two ex-cons hanging out.
They've been hangin since the 90s
@@dr.krimson1010Two ex-cons? When did Snoop do time?
@@DavidCowie2022 Several times after graduating highschool including once in Wayside Jail.
Snoop also does kids music now
15:09 - He'd kill everyone with a single punch. But he was also a showman, so he would make loads of weaker punches at first, in order to make it look harder then it really was.
Jane being forced to talk about both Wrestling and Limp Bizkit is comedy gold😂
Especially when you know pretty much for a fact that Andy wrote that whole part and had a devilish grin when he handed her the copy to go over lol
Fred Durst was also in WWF Raw! That was my immediate thought when i saw the thumbnail, and was surprised to learn he was in a different wrestling game as well lol
How about that time Barack Obama appeared in a Street Fighter game.
Specifically, he was added to Street Fighter Online: Mouse Generation to celebrate Valentine's Day.
I got a real kick out of that Eric Cantona joke!
That took a little longer to land than it should have...
This joke has legs.
Man U really got me with that pun
@@davidchristie6003 It's when he Leeds U on, that's when you want to start worrying!
@@CD-GamingWigan-not stop this terrible punning
Are you telling me kids today DON'T know all the tracks from Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavoured Water?!
They know my way.
I thought the backbone of this country was built on the song “It’ll be OK” but I guess I was wrong
"Big Evil" got better when the Deadman got back in shape.
13:01 fun fact, that actually does "kinda" happen in the show, which is probably why it was included in the trailer. As a homage.
Mike opening the video with dissing his mom was quite something! 😂😂😂😂
Also his truthful joke about Cantona being more appropriate for a fighting game than Ronaldo 😂🤣🤣😂🤣
13:45 missed a bleep lol
Yeah that killed me the most yo yeehaw lmfao!😭😆
TH-cam has weird censorship rules. You can usually get away with a shit or two in a video, but not in the first or last couple of minutes.
@@gwishart Really?
"That shoplifter that doesn't exist" is definitely Andy, isn't it?
This list could’ve just been from the def jams fighting games
Snoop Dogg is Shao Kahn, confirmed.
Working at Midway in the late 90s sounds like a fever dream.
About the Spoop Dog section - You forgot to mention his collab with Story Bots in the episode about how computers works.
Def Jam: Fight For New York can have it's own video about this topic.
It's got Snoop Dogg, Danny Trejo, Omar Epps, Flava Flav, Henry Rollins, Method Man and Carmen Elektra
Seems like Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst was in every other 90’s video game.
Yeah. He was in the Fight Club game, too.
00s
To be fair, a LOT of people wanted to punch him in the face.
Ironically, the Undertaker becoming the American Badass was simply him choosing to portray a character that was just an extension of his real-life self. So Jane... when you are ripping on the American Badass in this video, you are really ripping on Mark Calaway himself. I see a tombstone piledriver in your future...
More like a last ride
My moneys on Jane.
Taker is the GOAT but i got no issue with criticizing Mark Calloway the individual.
@@nickoftime602you never met him how do you know he isn't a good guy, go watch his podcast six feet under and the stories from fans about how nice he is and such
I played a lot of Tekken Tag and remember that stage pretty well... but I don't know if I ever noticed Snoop in the background. I was always too busy fighting for my life and spamming the same 3 moves with Alisa.
Never expected to hear Jane say the word Nookie but here we are
Personally wasn’t expecting Mike to give me the biggest laugh in a list video for a while with his truth that Cantona should be in a fighting game instead of Ronaldo due to kicking a fan more 😂🤣😂 Though now that i’ve heard it it is odd hearing nookie come out of Jane’s mouth 😅
She has criticized others for rude jokes during some of their live streams, and then while playing Jackbox her solution to holes in your jeans was an invention she called "Paint Your Taint". It caught me off-guard, but was also absolutely hilarious.
I _do_ know those Limp Bizkit songs.
And don't call me Shirley.
Dimitri Vegas, a Belgian DJ who was, for some reason, an alternate skin for Sub Zero in Mortal Kombat 11, complete with his own dubs of all the voice lines, and IIRC, anyone who posted gameplay of his skin on TH-cam got a DMCA strike or something. It was such a bizarre kerfuffle.
The fact that Negan in Tekken 7 is just one of that game's many insane guest characters like okay what's a rich French girl going to do against Noctis from Final Fantasy
People who won Mortal Kombat tournaments got introduced as skins for their main fighters in Mortal Kombat 11. I know one of them was added as a Sub Zero skin. Sadly, I can't think of the name off hand.
Dimitri Vegas
7:16 Actually, it's because of that one guy on Reddit who writes long and seemingly insightful comments that dovetail into "..nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcers table."
American Badass Undertaker was actually a pretty fun version of him. And he even had some fun with it, and it even came back in 2020, and had a match too, people LOVED it lmao.
5:58 Shaq Fu mentioned!
Like a permanently blazed Shao Kahn, is great line.
Mum, you're British FFS!
Mom, indeed.
They do all the Americanisms here. I get it - there's a large American crowd watching, but this is a bit of an outrage which I shall tut at.
Action Bronson is definitely a more strange addition to ufc 4 than Bruce Lee. At least Bruce was known for doing martial arts, then you have Dana White, Bruce Buffer and Action Bronson is the roster
People saying Bruce Lee would get annihilated by UFC fighters clearly do not know who Lee was
He literally could take on bunch of gys and beat them up, now yes if he was alive he would be in his 80's though then again Jackie chan is old and he still does martial arts
Jane, people liked The American Badass gimmick.
what was wrong with them
I know OX gas a weird habit throwing americanisms in, but why does Mike keep saying mom instead of mum
11:13 Andrew W.K. has talked about getting that picture before. He reportedly smashed himself in the face with a brick to get a bloody nose. But when the result wasn't bloody enough for what he wanted, his team bought blood from a butcher and just slathered it on.
Are you telling me for honest and for true, that the reward for 15 wins using Taker is Fred Durst? What kinda sick upside down world did that get released from.
This video reminded me of how weird wrestling games used to be and, consequently, miss those days more than I already do.
You know why there are Chuck Norris jokes and not Bruce Lee Jokes?
Because when you say that shit about Bruce Lee, people believe you.
Oh sure, Tekken will do a Snoop Dogg themed battle area, but not a fight in a Waffle House parking lot.
WH probably doesnt want to license for that image, Yet its well known their properties have frequent throwdowns so I say throw caution to the wind and sign a licensing deal.
@filanfyretracker I mean somebody throwing down with a bear in a Waffle House parking lot would not be anywhere close to the strangest thing at a Waffle House.
I'm always ecstatic when we get a video about fighting games. Thanks, Mike!
It's nice to thank any of the creators of content but anyone familiar with Oxbox knows that Andy is the maestro of fighting game lists on this channel. Odds are more than good that you have Andy to thank mostly for putting this list and script together.
"Mom" !? The Americanisms are getting out of hand, they really are. Americans will understand what a British person means when they say "mum", they aren't idiots.
Having 'There Goes The Neighborhood' in a video game? That's a bold move.
Pretty hard to do Def Jam Fight for NY, because it would just be the entire roster, eh?
Limp Bizkit were forseen by H.P. Lovecraft:
"The rapping was repeated with greater insistence, and this time bore a hint of metal."
Fred Durst was even weird for music industry
he seems like a weird person in general
@@mattalan6618I would have preferred Jonathan Davis cause korn is just epitome of perfect
It's been decades but I still can't hear 'let's get ready to rumble' without instantly thinking of PJ and Duncan!.
fred durst sure was rolling.
What about John Stamos? In everyone’s favorite fighting game full house, terminator fighter.
Negan as a guest fighter in Tekken I just out of place but his grittiness vibe there works
I wish he appeared on Mortal Kombat instead which it makes more perfect sense and even more fitting there
Funny thing is in "The Walking Dead" Negan 100% COULD have gotten mauled by a tiger! "The Kingdom" HAD a tiger as a pet when Negan was a threat so that could have happened in the show, it didn't, but it was possible! LOL
Wu tang clan got their own fighting game with Shaolin Style, where you can have four person matches with Ol' Dirty Bastard, The Rza, Method Man, and over a dozen other rappers.
Guess snoop dogg got all his fighting out in the def jam games.
Only tangentially related, I think one of my favourite things Fred Durst has done is his role in the recent A24 horror film "I Saw the TV Glow", which isntantly became one of my favourite films ever. Also, as a nonbinary perosn, it hit me like a truckload of bricks. Durst plays the main character's hyper-macho father and is frankly amazing in the role.
Apparently Snoop's now called "Ceaser", the new name for Mr. Dogg.
Mike talking about Ronaldo and cantona is not something I expected today
Mike is such a sweet, innocent boy for not knowing that the walking dead is entirely about a group of people searching for shitting pants.
The Wu Tang Clan videogame should have been on this list. Yes, martial arts are half of the inspiration for their songs, and they sampled them heavily, but it is still way weird.
Considering the one Negan trailer had him choose "Don't Ask Me For Shit" Harada at the end...😂
Fred Durst popped up again in one of my fave movies from this year, I Saw the TV Glow. I don't know how to deal with this much Fred Durst in my life in 2024.
Also, i love Andy's shirt.
Def Jam fight for New York is a fighting game featuring rappers affiliated with the Def Jam record label, but including film stars Danny Trejo and Carmen Electra shocked me.
How DARE you lambast Fred Durst’s inclusion in the horrendous _WWF SmackDown!: Just Bring It_ ?! (/s *💀* )
Also, I have a copy of that game and have not once played as Durst. I have, however, played as Shawn Stasiak in the sequel, _WWE SmackDown!: Shut Your Mouth_ *🤦*
10:20, Someone forgot who hosted a show called Destroy Build Destroy.
Snoop dog and neymar are also playable characters in call of duty mobile , they where released as collab draws so only a handfull of people that payd for it have them
You know, of the two Martha Stewart should have more Street cred. She's the one who's actually done hard time.
At this point if Andy doesn’t make an “Andy’s 7 Best ‘7 x Fighting Games’ List Feature Video” video for April 1st, I will be severely disappointed
Violent J and Shaggy were actually wrestlers in the WWE in the late '90s and early '00s
I love how they censored the word “sh*t” three times then forgot to censor it at 13:45!
15:29 - Every fighting game has a Bruce Lee character!
I feel it was a missed opportunity not to include The Buddha on this list of weirdest real people in fighting games. Somehow the founder of Buddhism would be the last person I would expect to see in a fighting game, and yet there he is in Fight of Gods.
Icp was involved in backyard wresting alot 👍
Everyone’s favorite real person Negan from The Walking Dead. I guess there were only 6 good examples?
This would not even be the only appearence of Fred Durst in a fighting game. He is also in the Fight Club game.
I guess if Reynaldo is in the game, you can make him resemble that horrible bust of himself.
I've watched enough old Kung Fu movies to never underestimate an 82 year old martial arts master.
Love y'all whimsical British folks
TWD (Ezekiel) has a tiger. I don't consider Neegan being maul by a tiger strange, I think it fan service. I was really hoping to see that each month/week in the comic/show.
9:55 - Cool!
I only know Mike's Undertaker from that wrestling ttrpg :D
I forgot about Fred being in wwe game. Then again I liked the American badass and big evil version of undertaker as a kid.
I remember the time disc jokey Dimitri Vegas was Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat 11.
Abe Lincoln in Dreamcast Ooga Booga
I'm assuming that Fatal Fury game is set in Wolverhampton then.
While obviously not a fighting game. Apparently Col Sanders appears on the Japanese servers for FF14 during certain promo events.
Andrew WK makes the most sense of any of these cameos. Considering that he smashed himself in the face with a brick for that album cover. He said it just didn't look real enough beforehand.
Knocc Em Down does go hard tho
Could definitely see King Eric in a fighting game or a new red card😂
MJ was more of a god than a real person. I liked the body count song clip.
What about that DJ What’s-His-Face appearing as a skin for Sub-Zero in MK11?
Shout out to post malone being a paid for wrestler in WWE2k24 he was the musical manager though
Abraham Lincoln in Fight Club.
So I will try to defend the Bruce Lee inclusion to a degree. The popularity of him and his films are one of the things that got the ball rolling on modern MMA. Plus JKD did influence some modern techniques. Also, a recognisable guy to casual fans with a fun style. Still though, having his teeth kicked in by a disasterclass human like McGregor is probably not the most respectful tribute to his impact
Maybe EA need to include a legends of football cage-fight mode to the next FC game. I'd pay £70 to kick Ronaldo's digital ass as Cantona, Zidane, or Vinny Jones.
Marilyn Manson in celebrity's death match was probably my favorite of all time video game back at the time.
That show was wild, But was entertaining. You could never restart it today, Mills Lane passed away a few years ago. And I cannot picture any other voice than his as the ref.
Michael Jackson in Ready 2 Rumble
I literally play Lebron in multiversus purely because he's a real person. It's still crazy that they couldn't get himself
Edit:his voice actor is John Bently and his most famous role is barret from the final fantasy 7 remake
Gotta mention Action Bronson in UFC 4. Bruce Lee makes sense, but Action Bronson? It wasn't even marketed or anything and he's not that big in the scene otherwise 👀 makes you think
What about the whole Def jam game. Never had a whole damn series around a bunch of people that shouldn't have been in a fighting game
How about the entire cast of Def Jam Fight for NY?
Snoop also does kids music now too. Doggy Land is a favorite of mu kids 😂
