The Sacrifice and Passing feels like two of the different stages of grief: Depression and Acceptance. The sacrifice’s title has some blood in it, referring to the sacrificed killed, causing despair and hopelessness to the other survivors who had lost their man. The Passing’s title is a bit more cheerful and is in the style of one of the neon shop names, signifying the acceptance that not everyone will live to the end and that the survivors should move on from there

Sweet Georgia fades away (dead center in the afternoon, the passing in the evening, and dark carnival that night) We'll be burning down Louisiana the very next day (stumbling over the stateline through swamp country that same night, getting gas for virgil the next morning, and literally burning down a bridge in new orleans the next day)
