Our very favorites!!! We have plants from Mexico and also planted another variety from seeds from Mexico (chile Tepin). Here in DFW they are perennials! We have ours in pots and bring them in the garage when we have the polar vortex. Thank you for sharing your sweet Mom.
Arnie, I know those plants are thriving. Your mom has always had a green thumb. Her yard always looked so beautiful with all her plants. My kid always remember the valley lemon tree. The lemons were so delicious.🤤😋❤
I can almost smell it! I'm in Alaska now and still really miss Texas and New Mexico where I grew up. Your videos are uplifting. Thank you to you and MamaTex!
It doesnt feel like your talking to a camera, it feels like im not a stranger in your home and iv been part of the family for a decade lol Makes me miss my abuelita whos been gone for some time now. But always made me feel like i was at home while i was in her house.
Chiltepins have a unique flavor unlike any others! I’m 75 years old and I’ve been eating these since I was about 5. They were my dad’s favorite and they’re mine, too.
I remember the early days of Bonnie I think they had one growing facility. I brought them in as a supplier at my Home Depot and I got in a little trouble nobody had heard of them they're everywhere now. Bonnie platforms I know you're watching it was the original Corpus Christi Home Depot many years ago if I'm not mistaken about 30 years
It's crazy timing that I tried to make this salsa yesterday, without knowledge of this video. I never liked the seeds in the little peppers, they feel especially crunchy, its crazy that I actually tried a coffee grinder to grind them up like you. My grinder left them pretty big still. I tried my ninja blender, with the smallest juicer cup, on the highest setting, and they dissolved fairly well, but it was still a gritty consistency. I was going to ask on a Facebook group, if the top of the line Vitamix blender would do the job, that the ninja blender can't quite do. Ill buy it, salsa is daily, it'd be a good investment Ive already been thinking of.
I have a bunch of chiltepin plants that I am growing from seeds I got in Arizona a few years ago. Normally, I just let the birds eat most of them but I'm going to actually have to harvest some for myself and some salsa this year before the growing season ends.
lol;;;love them little peeperssss;;;;hopefully some of the tepins along the back fence will come back as all my plants up next to the house that were manicured for production burned up wihen our house burned down;;;so now I get to watch wish and wait;;;as had no way water and limited rainfall this year they all appear to be gone for the summer and maybe turn into fertilizer for the weeds;;anyway always enjoy and prepare many of your recipes with my own personal twists;;;lol;;;;thumbs up and keep em comin ;;;;now back to watching you prepare Oh I grew up on the farm about 6 miles from Luckenbach and we had mockingbird planters to give us plenty of plants all over the place;;;I joked with some of my friends about having to go pick peppers and when I got back I would say I picked over 400 peppers;;;the reply was Yeah right;;;then I would send them a picture of the peppers;;;;lol;;;now back to watching you making a hot hot
Hi ya from near Alice TX. I have been growing chile piquens for years , the birds help . lol. I have many different types or varieties , some of the chiles look like baby jalapenos, others are very small . love this video and will try the recipe. audios
Man you know if it's spicy for big time pepper fans, it would blow most people's tongues out! I love how tiny these little chili's are. Small package, BIG TASTE AND MEGA HEAT!!!! LOVE YOU ARN😊
@@jabo5022 you grow any? I've now grown Nardello frying peppers and then some kind of Polish sweet pepper. I'm ready to grow some of the hotter kinds and seriously considering these!
@@BigboiiTone they were pretty easy to grow in hot ass Texas, I got hundreds of the small pea sized peppers. Did some ferments. Taste really good, but they brought the heat.
I've grown those. Unlike the Capsicum Annums which produce several crops of peppers over the season, the chilitepin plants sets one set of little peppers that ripen up at harvest.
My fiance has a few bushes of those. They call the Shashoni Love Berries. My Mexican friends call them Tepin. To hot for me these days. Used to love em!
Hey Arnie me and my mom like to watch your videos we live in California and we don't get chile piquin over here. I wonder if there's any way you can send me some or direct me where I can get some. We also watch another TH-camr Primo Cheo he also lives in Texas and does outdoor cooking you should look him up and you should make a video together he uses your product on his show your OG anyways love your mom and your show the way you cook my parents were from Texas shout out for my mom Maria
Brother I got a question: What do you do with say leftover food waste like the peel of the tomato, or like scraps of potato, or the ends of peppers? Like is there any feasible way to use that whether its helping soil or something instead of throwing it in the trash?
Hello I just saw you on ch5.. how do you keep the birds away from your chile plants, at my mum's home LOS PAJAROS SE LO COMEN TODO,, any tips ,,buy a BB gun?????
Your mother is so sweet!!
Man we planted one plant, and then the birds took care of the rest! We ended up with 20 plants around the backyard! Gonna send this to my mom

Bonnie plants are great. I've only ever had one issue with one of their plants, everything else has grown quite well...and been delicious.

Super
I learned an easy recipe for chiltepin salsa from a Tahono O’odham lady using a cello pack of chilies and a can of El Pato sauce.
Just buy some Trechas for the fruit, It's also good on jicima.

Was it had to grow in that Texas clay?
The deer ate all My pepper plants peppers and all, just serrano peppers and jalepenos and and bells. They didn't share them at all. Lol
