You would want to reset this when you change the oil so the vehicle can calculate when the next oil change should be.

My question to you is...
At what mileage did you perform your first oil change? (7835?)

This one was changed around 5k miles but If you check your owners manual I think they state 7500 miles

I just bought a 2021 Kis Soul S. No way will it ever go 5,000 or 7,500 miles on an oil change. Putting mine on a 3,000-3,500 oil change interval. Due to the problems Kia is having with the NU 2.0 engine I won't push my luck. I love the car. Enough power and more than enough room.

Though I do believe I can easily go 5,000 miles before it's first oil change since I have the top trim model with the 1.6 Turbo Engine type. I know I'm due very soon as the dipstick indicates just roughly above the half-way mark as well as mild darkened coloration. I will however do as you do with 3,000-3,500 oil change intervals only after I have my first oil change at 5,000.
7,500 might be really pushing it for sure.
