Eastland refers to Middle East. Song refers to Gulf War (1990-91) Middle East (fertile crescent) has been a warzone for ten thousand years, even before history. Song's message is clear: fighting with hatred feeds the rich men, pray for these thousands in the Eastland. Intro of the song is from the movie The Message (1977) by Maurice Jarre.
Eastland refers to the lands which is in the east. East of Turkey, middle East, Arabia, Persia etc. Eastland does not refer to specific area of Turkey, I think . Thanks for reacting... please consider to react to Yavuz Çetin who is the greatest blues artist and greatest guitarist of Turkey!
Actually, you should consider also that it is Turkey's east..the terror acts it goes on since years...read the lyrics again: Meaningless war, no one can leave it Why do they live on the people bleeding ....Fighting with hatred feeds the rich men Pray for these thousands in the eastland....We lost our thousands of people by those acts.... Also, keep in mind that the band lost also their closest friend and guitarist in this "Meaningless war" in the late 90's...may be it goes for all the wars in the east but with a little twist and with the band's background; it may be our east.
@@einherjer979 exactly man, i forgot this issue! İ knew Ftwda song's story , but i didnt know the story of this song! Great band great song great lyrics great spirit! And yes an artist as it should be! Driven by the emotions of the people, society, community, country! Thanks for reminding!
Thank you for your comments. Mezarkabul (aka Pentagram *in Turkiye) uses slightly different melodies and harmonies (Anatolian-Turkic) than the other bands that deal with Middle Eastern melodies. Maybe it's not popular music for the masses who can accept the novelty/difference, but it's the only Anatolian Heavy Metal band in the world. There is no negative approach to different beliefs and ethnic origins in any of their songs, whether you have listened to them or not (including songs with Turkish lyrics). 🤘🏻
To tell the truth, this is more of a protest than metal music. While you are listening, you hear beautiful music, we, the people of the east, hear the cry of the melodies we have heard for 1000 years. You had to live in Anatolia to be fully impressed. Good luck. good youtube channel.
Hi, three recommendations for Turkish rock songs; 1. Erkin Koray "Akrebin Gözleri" 2. Haluk Levent "Akşamlar" 3. Pilli Bebek "Siyah Beyaz", many thanks from Turkey.
Thanks Rob, great reaction as always ! You know what you doin man ! Its a pleasure to listen to these songs with you ! This time I will do something different, I will recommend a song from Azerbaijan as a Turkish person :) Yuxu - xezer ( caspian sea ) It/s a very nice blues song, I think you will like it.
Many songs in Anatolia Album is great actually. But Trail Blazer Album is really Masterpiece. Especially when thinking of 1990s Metal music in Turkey, sounds, riffs were really good.
Pentagram's "Popçular Dışarı" is one of the best live albums I've ever listened to. I've got my 1st-hand experience watching them live, it was mind-blowing! By the way, I agree with the folks below about Yavuz Çetin. You're missing a lot if you haven't heard his guitar solos and wild lyrics. He's another legend in Turkish rock music.
Pentagram is a supergroup, a culture, a school. They've been doing this job for about 30 years. Europe should have already been heard. I think they deserve respect.
The eastland is middle east, where thousands of 1000 died in the Eastland. One of these was, Pentagram's own Guitarist Umit Yılbar, died in the attack of PKK (called as YPG nowadays) on early 90's, very sad story going on since Kadesh with Hittites versus Egyptians. Murdery is still on these lands. I also suggest Pengtagram's Fly Forever (song for Umit Yılbar, after he died as a martyr.), For Those Who Died Alone (dedicated for Big Marmara Earthquake, which i lived this tragedy) and in Esir Like an Eagle, these are my bests for Pentagram. Thanks for sharing to listen this preciation that we witness for lots of years, Pentagram is the group should tour every country every year, but only appeared twice in Wacken concert. This is a real shame of Organizations and Producers or Managers. This is a gold you need to go for!
a friend of them was killed in the army duty in turkish armed forces against pkk therefore they composed this song as a monument. eastland refers the east-south part of turkey and 1000s refers to the soldiers who ve been protecting their motherland against all enemies.
Hi Rob! I realized it was a bit difficult to keep up with the rhythm for the intro of the song because it's not 4/4. The rhythm goes like 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2-3. In traditional Turkish music, there are lots of different rhythms and microtones.
turkish metal recommendations: burial invocation, diabolizer, sarinvomit, engulfed, thrashfire.. also septage and taphos have turkish drummers.. turkish punk recommendations: die in vain, poster-iti, the raws pls react these bands!!! thanks for the reaction videos!!!!!
