The real Elvis impersonator in Turkish music was the late Erol Büyükburç 😄. Make no mistake he was also a great singer, it was kinda like his gimmick especially in his early years. He wrote all his own songs and didn't steal songs from other foreign singers like some other Turkish singers
3:51 Ottoman Traditional Music was never banned, plus there's no such thing called traditional Ottoman Music. There were various music genres during the time of the Ottoman Empire. Turkish classical music which derives from the Sufi Tasavvuf music still continues to be performed to this day although lost it's popularity a lot in the recent years. Anatolian Rock took it's main inspiration from the Turkish Folk Music as the name suggests
Yeah, all from Turkish folk music. I recommend listening to Turkish folk music. Still, Turkish rock singer uses folk music for their new type of rock songs
Barış Manço wasnt really an Elvis impersonator like the guys in USA, wearing same clothes and singing Elvis songs.Just his style and inspiration was very similar -Elvislike- until Anatolian Psychedelic came up. Old school rock n roll.

The banning of Anatolian rock music was related to the fact that the musical style represented a trend during the difficult political years of Turkey. There is no such concern today. Music of all styles is free and people are listening. However, as the country's founding ideology deviated in the 1980s, it was a precaution to protect the founding ideology (republic). But it didn't succeed. There are sometimes ridiculous bans in Turkey, but they don't last long. The founding ideology initially banned folk music and supported western-style music, but this was misunderstood by some officials. In fact, they misunderstood what Atatürk wanted to do and followed a very wrong westernization policy. These policies were generally determined by the army until 2015. Many bans were lifted when the military's influence on the administration waned. It goes without saying that the discussions other than this will be political debates.

12 September 1980 military coup fvcked everything in Turkey. I have to mention that it was again an American gladio backed coup against Turkish independence and progress just like the CIA backed failed coup attempt of 15 July 2016. I remember that US also intervene Canadian politics in 70's also.. If im not mistaken even a national made Canadian fighter programme had been completely destroyed for political matters and Canada had to bought US F18's instead of her own.
Lets be honest 2016 coup wasnt made or planned by Feto(America) but it is made by government to get rid of Feto and take further control. And it was a great success for both cleaning Feto and taking control. Trying to do a coup when they were getting pretty influential doesnt align with Fetos lines they like to take stuff slow and ensnare the target without them realising.

The 1960s generation and its productivity are unique in the world. As someone born in 1975, I say, "I wish I had been born 20 years earlier, lived in the 60s and had memories." I believe that music and art are a universal language, and the world spoke this language most beautifully in the 1960s. Old rock music has produced artistic works that are still missed all over the world, and it is impossible to achieve this quality today.

video was great but he forgot some of bests. in late 90s and early 2000s Haluk Levent, Kıraç, Murat göğebakan, and haramiler revive the anatolian rock. after that in early 2000s Barış Akarsu won music contest and made amazing impact. unfortunately he lost his life when he was 27 years old cause of car crash when his birthday. still everyone loves him. and slowly kıraç drop out, murat göğebakan died from cancer and Haluk Levent started charity organization. you should listen those names. Haluk Levent-Elfida, Kıraç-Razıysan Gel, Murat Göğebakan-Ay Yüzlüm, Haramiler-Mavi Duvar and Barış Akarsu-Islak Islak

The socialists always lose. And still get blamed for everything. Its crazy how music can connect people. Exactly what the right opposes. They like to divide. Turkish psych rock is crazy inspiring.
Although i love Rock music, but as a musician the truth about evolution of the music is changing so often but also creating new cults/generations which impacts the culture and society. Thus I do not listen music and i rare play with my guitar which I used to enjoy hearing appluases when i was on the stage. I now feel new generation musics disgusting to me never turn on a radio channel in my car. I am more optimistic than before I just listen relax musics, instrumental, classic, solo musics. I give little tolerance to listen old Turkish rocks and 90's pop musics. Thanks for the video bud.

Although the title says "Turkish psychedelic rock" the video mentions "Anatolian rock" so it misses the new-ish Turkish psychedelic rock bands like Nekropsi, Replikas, Fairuz Derin Bulut (and many others).
You're a. Good person 👋
video was great but he forgot some of bests. in late 90s and early 2000s Haluk Levent, Kıraç, Murat göğebakan, and haramiler revive the anatolian rock. after that in early 2000s Barış Akarsu won music contest and made amazing impact. unfortunately he lost his life when he was 27 years old cause of car crash when his birthday. still everyone loves him. and slowly kıraç drop out, murat göğebakan died from cancer and Haluk Levent started charity organization. you should listen those names. Haluk Levent-Elfida, Kıraç-Razıysan Gel, Murat Göğebakan-Ay Yüzlüm, Haramiler-Mavi Duvar and Barış Akarsu-Islak Islak
Bariş Manço did cover Uzun İnçe Bir Yoldayim too
Altın gün (Dere boyu kavaklar) thanks.
Thanks to the American countless Coup's in history, 60's freedom long gone and we stuck with Islamic 15's century arab traditions(also called "religion") pushing us to return not democratic ways. great video I hope younger generations can understand what is important really important for one nation thanks to your video. cheers big brother much respect and love metalhead to other metalhead.
The socialists always lose. And still get blamed for everything. Its crazy how music can connect people. Exactly what the right opposes. They like to divide. Turkish psych rock is crazy inspiring.
You should check the Altın Gün band. They are soooo good.
pretty spot on
Omg love them ❤
Although i love Rock music, but as a musician the truth about evolution of the music is changing so often but also creating new cults/generations which impacts the culture and society.
My friend, if you listen to Yavuz Çetin, who passed away at a young age, you won't regret it.
Anatolian rock revival has not started in 2000s with gaye su akyol or altın gün.
İt starts in 1993 with Haluk Levent.
Just listen Kağızman ör Akşamlar.
People forgot easily. He was the one who built the road for Şebnem Ferah or others in 90s.
Turkey is way different now you are right about that
Can you please share the link of the original video that you got in this video?
