@@Inhereflackin The surprise party wasn't as wholesome as Scotland or The national park. Sure, the outcome was wholesome, but the whole setup was made to make Ron anxious and overall distressed. If it was just Ann who would made Ron nervous, then sure, it would be fine, but since Leslie gave April the list of things to mess with Ron, it wasn't as wholesome as it could've been.
We need an entire series based around Ron Swanson and his rangers

Who else thought the last scene was just so wholesome. It kinda made me cry
That's my dream job. Out in nature, away from civilization, no one to babysit or constantly worry about, and getting to yell at people for being idiots out in the wilderness

As a guy who loves to fish... Yeah... I don't think of the killing part as much. But it's my form of yoga for sure 😂

I can agree with Ron on two things of this clip:
1.- not enough ppl have looked their dinner in the eyes and considered the circle of life.
2.- scouts should mainly teach you about how to really survive in the woods (although he could have made an ocasional game to keep the moral up)
I’m an Eagle Scout and have worked at Scout camps. Scouts isn’t about survival skills, primarily or really much at all. That’s just not something that is at all relevant. Scouts is about teaching life skills. Chief among those being leadership. Camping and other outdoor activities simply serve as the catalyst. It puts the youths into a challenging situation where they need to work together to do well. And it’s fun. Because they’re still kids.

It's too bad Ron didn't actually teach any of those things in the episode - his means were crude at best and didn't inform the kids about any of the appropriate skills beyond the most absurdly basic aspects that don't help in real world situations for the most part.
@Senior Shakingmyhead. west point has a total of 4536 undergraduate enrollment as of fall 2020. not exactly the small group you are thinking of.

More to the point, typically municipalities have no ordinances against private citizens slaughtering animals provided they do so in a manner consistent with generally humane conditions of animal slaughter, and health codes for serving food generally only apply to businesses operating under a license to operate a restaurant. As such, Ron probably just should have said, "Ok, which ones?", because really there probably aren't laws against slaughtering a live animal and barbequing it in Pawnee.
The comedy bites logo CRASHING loudly out of nowhere at the end is brilliant. What a nice peaceful moment...

Interesting note: Ron used to keep his middle name and thus initials a secret. In the final scene he is immediately open with it. Shows that he’s more willing to accept people. Instead of immediate hostility he opted for starting with respect and going from there. Even before I noticed that detail, this is how I’ve tried to live ever since seeing that, even before but this scene perfectly encapsulates the vision.
Leslie offering him that spot to run the park is probably the most wholesome moment in the entire show
Apart from it being a government job, it's pretty much a dream job for someone like him. :P Nature, being alone, fishing, and probably plenty of wood he could pick out from fallen trees to use in his woodworking.
And to be honest, half of me would love a job like that as well. Problem is that the other half of me likes my technology and modern comforts too much. xD

This last scene inspired my to start building my own cedar canoe. I'm a woodworker by trade, been hiking for the past 4 years and I'm expecting to spend this winter building the thing in my basement. Glorious time ahead.

@@HealersGuild Hey thanks for asking! Not as good as I would like, been pretty busy and I'm moving my workshop to a new place in a couple of weeks. Basically the molds and the sterns are done. I'm about to start planking, but I think it'll wait until I move, since once planking starts it needs to stay where it is. I probably won't make it in time for the 2021 season, but I'm not to stressed about it. I have my other canoe that I can use until the cedar one is done. Cheers!

I loved this show. It is good they never gave in to the temptation to write Leslie and Ron into a romantic relationship. BTW Nick actually built that canoe, and has been married to "Tammy 2" (Megan Mullally) since 2003.
And the fact he actually made that himself makes it better
