Girl talk about glow up, I’ve been watching you for years and it’s crazy beautiful how much you are thriving in your career and your craft. You are amazing . I’m so proud of you 👏 an inspiration for sure.
I’ve been doing transformations like this since I’ve been out of school since February. About once a week ! It takes me 6-8 hours each day! I feel like I’ve learned so much from doing these transformations ! It turned out great ❤️❤️
I have watched a couple minutes of several of your videos. And with that, I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with your coloring skills!!! This was a very challenging appointment for you, and you definitely nailed it!!! I am now going to be a loyal subscriber!! You are definitely a professional ❤️
Hello can u please help me I have blonde on top and black underneath never had this problem before been doing it for 5 years now . But now my black has bleed onto my konde and want stop
Cosmetologist 🙋♀️of one year has been full of watching hair videos and your are definitely one of my favorites I love how genuine and passionate you are within the industry thank you for sharing beautiful !
It turned out so pretty! That's amazing you were able to pull that much color from her hair in one day. Last time I did that with mine, it took months. Well done Sam! 💖💕
Thank you!!! First time viewing your channel and I’m a professional and going through this with a client with very long hair!!! I use Redken, did a Foilage the first go round a long with a shampoo cap… I need to leave it longer. Any ways…. Love that you created an even, darker canvas , and then did baby lights…and the results were great! Thanks again!
I love your tattoos soooo much! I wish people would realize how amazing hairdressers really are. What you do is a craft. I subbed for your voice and your opening is so welcoming. I look forward to seeing more of your content. Also you are really pretty.
Oh my God it came out soo good😍 And can we talk about that you were glowing for some reason? First clip and I was like oh wow something is different you seem very happy. Love it!
Yes for the consistency and vlog style videos! 💖 I’m not a hairstylist, but I find your videos so calming and anxiety reducing! It feels like I’m just listening to a friend chat about life. We are also scarily similar lol love you sam!
wow! I'm impressed. This looks SO amazing! However, My stylist knows I f*ck up every now and then and visit Sallys. Instead of paying 8 hours of color correction. I'm sure that was not cheap. I do a color remover and my hair ends up feeling healthier and then I have my stylist go in with highlights. Always turns out great and my hair is still healthy.
My longest correction was 17 hours yeah talk about back breaking but I love doing hair. I will not how ever do that long of a service ever again. Really glad you shared the time it took because it does take time when someone is wanting a color correction and a big color change in general.
Getting my hair done in a couple weeks after years of dark boxed hair dye. But she told me on phone she can't take dark color out, and will just do cut and highlights so my hair won't be damaged. Now wondering why she can't get some of color out. Loved your video!
After a long day as a sahm, it’s almost mid night… my relax time knowing you uploaded and I can unwind watching you 🥺😍 love watching you no matter what the videos about 😅🥰
My hairdresser refuses to remove my one time purple box dye from my hair. we bleached it twice lightly and it didn't completely lift, so she dyed it pink instead??/ I wanted blonde. WE WERE SO close! BUT she refused. my hair wasn't even dry or breaking after the light bleach washes
I appreciate this video this shows a lot from us hairdressers how hard we work I love your work Sam I’m such a fan I also love these 2 videos in 1 week 🥰
I’ll be getting my hair done at a salon soon, so I’m watching your videos to make myself feel better. It’s been about two years since I’ve had anything major done and about a year since anyone has touched my hair at all
Ok, is hair dye from Sally's Beauty considered box dye? Where you buy the color and developer separately or is it the same as buying the hair dye boxes from like Walmart?
Beautiful work 👏, a few years back I had a color correction where she wanted to go from turquoise to princess Merida from brave and I spent about 9 hours on her, this girl had so much density that she could've donated hair to an army of bald men 😆, my boss at the time said there was no amount of money that would get her to work on that amount of hair 😂
Yasssss girl!!!! A MAZ ING!!!! Great job. I’m about to drive from RI to come and see you!! ❤️ also I commented before on your dyson dryer video.. Andddd I bought it!!! I’m loving it
Is there any chance you would offer tutoring sessions like thru video chatting? I’ve taken a few years off from doing hair full time, and my confidence I had from when I did it. Is just gone. Back then, even when the hair wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do, I didn’t freak out. Because I always knew I would figure out the formula and steps to fix it one way or another. But even back then, I feel like I had gotten into many habits that caused me to take unnessasarry steps- or over foil, when I didn’t need that many, and could of gone about it with a different application, or foil pattern to save so much time. The hair pretty much always came out great, but would take longer to get to there than it needed to be- because I was in the habit of going about it certain ways/ techniques.. instead of basing the application technique I used depending on the persons hair, and starting level, etc. I got stuck in my ways. And it definitely cost me money. Because the more time a client takes, the less money we make per day. So I felt overworked, and didn’t see the pay off from paychecks even though my clients at the time were happy. So I burned out. I would love to find out if I still have any love for this career, by learning how to work smarter not harder. Not to mention it killed my body by overworking myself. If this is something you’d be open to offering, I’d love to speak with you. I love your chancel, and how down to earth and real you are. It is very inspiring. And your work is amazing.
Hi Rachel! I’d love to help you out any way I can! I’m actually in the process of building a new website with courses for hairstylists, and I think one-on-one virtual sessions is something I’d like to include with that. I’ll be launching everything within the next few weeks and will announce on here when it’s available. Stay tuned! :)
What are the measurements for toner 09GB 08GI and 09GI. Is it equal parts 08GI - 08GI and a dash of 09GB. I know all hair types are different just wondering what YOU used :) love Love love this video!
That was insane! I really did not think you would get it that light and so solidly blonde too. Wish I lived in the US, I’d want my hair done by you too 😂
Great video! I really need some advice. I naturally have dark brown/auburn hair, recently (over the past 5 years or so) I've been getting ALOT of white hairs. I'm 31 and I have been coloring my hair at home to cover it with dark brown and a hint of red. It looks good for a few weeks but then it looks terrible once it starts to grow out and my white hairs pop out (because I dye it dark it makes them twice as bright looking). I have tried blonde once in the past and thought it looked terrible on me. I'm getting tired of dying it so dark to cover the whites. I'm not sure what to do now, I just kind of want to embrace the white but I don't know what would be the best way to go about it. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Same for me except I have almost all white hair coming in and I don’t want to be white yet😬 What are you going to do with yours? Im undecided on mine but so tired of dying it dark
Holy moly can you imagine how much this would've cost?? 😂 I really want to go blonde just for fun (and change my hair colour for the first time in 5 years of having it box dye black 😬) but I would probably have to sell a kidney to afford it at a salon. So I'll probably destroy my life by attempting it at home 😭 I actually wonder if it'd better value to invest in a quality platinum blonde wig - I'm guessing the price would be the similar (even though I have short above the shoulder bob length hair) & I could switch up & have the best of both worlds 🤔
I love you’re videos they are so interesting!, keep up the good work boo! And btw you’re lips are so pretty!! I would love an updated makeup video for long days in the salon
Hi Sam! So I have a bit of confusion regarding developer... does the developer STOP processing once the foild are removed? Also, I was taught that 10 represents 1 level of lift, 20 represents 2 levels of lift, etc. So with the way you did it the 10 lifted more than 1 level? Can a 10 lift as well as say a 40 if left on much longer? Obviously not to the point of damage but is the 10 capable of that?
That’s only true when it comes to color. With lightener, all the lift is in the actual powder. The developer will just affect the speed of the lightening. 40 is going to be the most intense and work the fastest, but it will also die out faster. 20 volume and lower will get you the best, cleanest lift. Yes, it will take longer, but it’ll give you the best results, especially when applied to fine sections in foils. And as for your first question: once lightener is exposed to the air and starts drying out, it’ll stop working. :)
It turned out beautiful! 😍 Also, off topic, but are you wearing the Essence foundation ? I know you mentioned it a few videos ago. Your makeup and hair look on point Sam 👌💕
Hi Sam, question, is a box dye from Sally's considered a box dye? When I get my hair done I always say I use Sally's hair dye when they ask my hair history lol. Also how did you learn so much about hair? Do you learn everything you need to know during school or do you take extra classes or something to learn more?
You gave so much care & thought into this color correction. I see why she traveled to you! Great work!! Coming from a ( non prof), but long time d.i.y.er😊
Hi! I love your vlogs. 😁I just started working in a salon as an assistant and I am in need of a new blow dryer. What do you use on your clients, or what would you recommend?
I always say I wish I was born blonde but then I wouldn’t be me! But I say that just because I have blue hair and I always have loved different colors!
Whoa!!! That is so incredibly beautiful!!! I love it so, so much!! Wish I was closer! Do you have any recommendations for scalp psoriasis? I have been having a flair up and have prescription shampoo that I use once a week and use function of beauty if I wash it any other time during the week. I have super, super fine and thinning hair that gets oily very quickly but I have been able (most of the time) to train my hair to only wash it a max of 2 x's a week. Is there anything I can do to help the flair up? I have a detox shampoo scalp scrub and massager from ouai that helps that I got in my FFF box. Anyone have any advice?
Hi there 👋🏼. I have heard that Function of Beauty has irritated many people’s scalps/made people’s hair dry and fall out. I haven’t seen very many good reviews for it. I just wanted to let you know this, in case the brand is doing more harm than good for your psoriasis xx
Advice anyone please .. I had professionally dyed my hair red .. (previously half platinum blonde and brown) .. She used on the blonde side goldwell and the hi lift L’Oréal on the brown.. I want to go back to my original color and have been using the vitamins c treatment to fade it .. my brown side is back to normal .. my blonde a very light pink .. my roots however are red and not fading much.. I’m in quarantine nothing is open help me out .. color remover , bleach bath ? The blonde side and regrowth ?
Enjoyed watching your journey been in Beauty school because your journey just seeing how far you got.make me so happy ❤️❤️❤️and your story I decided to finally do what I love #heresincedayone and from Miami ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow, I wish I could take out all my box dyes as well but that sounds like more than $500 that I don't have and honestly won't spend for it. I wonder how much this one cost. Great job!
I'm curious as to how much you would charge for something like this? 8 hours is a long time! Sorry if this is an invasive question, I'm just curious but I understand if you prefer not to share.
@Zane Normonta it ended up being between $600-$700, but yeah, that is a lot of money. But it’s also like 2-3 appointments in one, and the cost for the amount of product we used alone was a lot. Plus, only half of that goes to me for the 8 hours of work and skill I put in, while the other half goes to the salon and pays for all of the product, overhead costs, etc. So while it does sound like a lot of money, when you break it all down, it really wasn’t a huge pay day for anyone.
Girl talk about glow up, I’ve been watching you for years and it’s crazy beautiful how much you are thriving in your career and your craft. You are amazing . I’m so proud of you 👏 an inspiration for sure.

i don't know if you will see this, but how difficult would you say it would be to remove 4 layers of permanent bigen blue black hair dye?
Girl I’m from NYC and I’ve been contemplating to go to you 😂😂😂 you’re amazing at what you do!
Which lightener do you use girl!!! Amazeballs
how would you go about removing black box color from natural hair? is it the same process?

Yes I am!!!!! Still obsessed :) Thank you!

She said it was around $700.
Oh. My. GOD. That is absolutely stunning work

Love your hair and makeup here Sam!!!

What are the best clarifying shampoos in your opinion?

How is it 10 years of box color if she got it bleached at another salon a month ago?

Eyebrow lamination or a bomb product? If you feel comfortable sharing what product?! They look fabulous.
Thank you! No lamination! I just use the got2b spiking glue for brow gel. :)
@@styledbysamvay oops, had to quit watching to get my babe from daycare. Just finishing this morning and see that you said in the video!
Awesome job on the color correction! love it :)
Dude whaaattttt!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 you go girl
I wish you were close ro me. I have black hair and will like to do a dark gray.
I feel seen I went through the exact same experience as this client and now I have brown hair with red in it
My hair dresser is having me doing sessions. How many sessions do you think it would take if I have black hair dye? I am not patient 😭
Awesome Job!!! What bleach powder did you use?
Thank you! I used Wella Blondor

@@styledbysamvay makes sense! I've had highlights cost 300 for 2.5 hours of work so yeah!
