The animators in 1950: “I hope this innocent little short continues to entertain people for decades to come!” Ghosts of the animators in 2024: “What the actual hell?!”
I just want to imagine the poor up loader who just noticed the sudden influx of comments he got, seeing them and wondering what the hell Mouthwashing or what people are refering to.
You don’t think this video was chosen on purpose? Mouthwashing Spoilers: The whole story is just Mouthwashing but with a good ending. Jimmy (The grumpy old Wolf) is mad that he is missing out on all the successes in life (the party) so he forces his way into everything he could.
Thanks for the full version. Never saw the low quality part. It was totally missing from the short I know since I was a kid. The unicycle guy is kinda creepy =D
Around 0:55 is a section I've never seen before. The version on VHS I had jumped straight from the trumpeters to 1:55. A full minute was cut out of some versions of this short. I can't figure out why to this day.
3:16 The girl in the middle looks like Pearl Pureheart and I think Georgie Porgie is supposed to be a parody of Harpo Marx who always liked to chase girls in the movies.
I thought the same, but considering the guy has probably tried to eat 3 pigs and a kid on their way to grandma's house at this point, and his first instinct for not going to a party was to be violent, I don't really blame them. Nothing kills the vibe of a party faster than an attempted murderer showing up. Then again, they let Georgie Porgie in so he could make all the girls uncomfortable, so I guess this place isn't exactly upstanding anyway.
Martyn McMurray he fought vultures in quite a few cartoons, and there was one where he fought some dinosaurs and he often had to deal with wolves and foxes. He also had to deal with human bandits.
He'll fix everything.
We'll all get through this!
This is a mouthwashing reference, right?
I hope this hurts

I’m here from Mouthwashing too, but I have to say the music's pretty jazzy! Really like this era of musical cartoon with the vocal groups.

Shame there was no Mighty Mouse to whoop his ass.
In a well written story, rarely anything is accident or coincidence.
man this hurts
I hope this hurts
i was hoping it would!
@@samiamiiiiithese comments keep making me laugh
The fact that the wolf wears green is pretty ironic... considering what Jimmy's text box color is
Jimmy did NOT take any responsibility 🙏

I guess Curly from MouthWashing watches Mighty Mouse when he's bored
What’s up guys? You’ll never guess how I got here.
Hey so did you take responsibility for
I miss it when it wasn't normal that the viewers saw the cartoon character's behind.

you know what ELSE can be fixed
How did you know that
Someday hell thank me
I choose to believe your "hell" typo was on purpose

I find the wolf's treatment unfair. He wanted to party too but they wouldn't give him a chance

Key animation by Carlo Vinci and Jim Tyer.
WPIX-11 showed the 'original' version back in the 1970's and 1980's.
Speaking of WPIX-11 the station just celebrated it's 70th Anniversary yesterday.
Robert Lopresti you are lucky! What did the original title card look like?
@ Sorta like the other cards between 1950-1955. I don't know the MPAA certificate number either.

Any other episodes where he squares off against foes who AREN'T cats? I remember a couple involving vultures.

Cats were the primary villains in Mighty Mouse cartoons. Wolves came in second.
