Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.

It was good to hear some gorilla vocalizations. Momotaro is like the grumpy dad who doesn't want a lot of shenanigans first thing in the morning. Gentaro is looking especially handsome today. And Kintaro it looks like he's gotten a little bigger, too.

Not a boy anymore! He's 2 years older than his father was when Gentaro was conceived. I'm not sure why Gentaro is being kept there without the possibility of finding an appropriate mate of his own. It makes the situation uneasy with Momotaro with his oldest son being a fully matured Silverback.
@@Looneyintheboonies yea, I think it’s they have nowhere to place him. I’m not sure. They should be willing to send him abroad so he has the most opportunity. I know Japan does things differently. It’s the same with Kiyomasa
@mariapittman8970 Well, on other channels, they show what doesn't get seen usually, and I wasn't expecting it, but saw everyone in the family committing incest on one or more family members. It was extremely disturbing. And knowing full well that it's happening, the zoo doesn't try to separate them, in fact after a video showed Gentaro relieving his raging hormones on Kinny's poor backside, they allowed them to be in a room alone with neither parent anywhere in sight. Kintaro's trying to play the usual wrestle/chase games with his older brother, but Gentaro takes advantage of the lack of supervision quickly to molest his little brother. The look of confusion and sorrow on Kinny's face is gut-wrenching, and I had to stop watching it. And that's only one aspect of what's going on. I'm really confused, and I don't know if I just don't understand gorilla's behavior, or if my instincts are right and none of this should be happening. I don't trust the zoos. I read that a recent in depth investigation revealed a tremendous amount of every type of abuse happening at an alarmingly high percentage of zoos everywhere. It's heartbreaking.

I really do hope these two don't seriously hurt the other one day because Gentaro will likely be a silverback next year and I know they've came to blows before and luckily no serious harm was done but all it takes Is for a bite to land in an unfortunate place.

He IS already a Silverback and I completely agree with you. Why in the world they haven't already found a mate for Gentaro, and choose to keep him in this unnatural family dynamic, which can only have negative consequences, I do not know. Momotaro was 2 years younger at 10 years of age when Gentaro was conceived.

Shabani is 225 kilo
Gentaro grandfather Makk (Genki dad) was huge at 252 kilo so Gentaro might end up bigger than his father

Great video. Gentaro and his “drive by”. I wish the zookeepers would give them more fruit. They are giving out more food but Gorillas need nutrients other than vegetables and greens for a balanced diet. For example, they also consume berry, banana, and guava fruits.
