Wildlife photography is a breathtaking and marvelous thing. Unfortunately, and I say this with deep regret, is that it may inspire some very careless people who see these footages to approach wild animals themselves, sometimes with very tragic results. 😟 Amateurs, do not do what these professionals do.

LOL, nothing professionals about this. I spent 3 seasons in GTNP and It was just one bear jam after another. The range of 399 is very predictable and the park is actually very small in size. 399 like to stay close to the road to protect her cubs since large male grizzlies avoid humans. Park volunteers would be there in force at most bear sightings and anyone won't listen to their instruction would get cited by law enforcement park rangers. Typical safe distance is 100 yards, but the rangers would tolerant up to 80 yards or so before pushing people back.

That was like over 3 years ago and they were 2nd year cubs. 399 kicked them out that summer and 2 of the 4 cubs have been euthanized since they got too comfortable around human.

With food shortage in fall why not grow food plots in secluded places to supplement our hungry bears and keep them safe and healthy.

There is no food shortage, each bear has their own territory and plenty of elk calves as food source for them in spring and berries in the fall. 399 range happened to be close to the main road as she realized larger male grizzlies avoid human, so staying close to the road help keep her cubs save.
