I believe the C7 is the best looking Corvette ever made. In my much younger years I owned a C3 (1976) and had a very satisfying and fun few years with it until I moved on. Since then I never had a desire to own another Corvette that I could get excited about until the C7 Grand Sport came along. It's track capable yet very civilized as a daily driver. Although the C8 may be the best handling, fastest and most technologically advanced Corvette ever made how many owners will take it to the track or even come close to taking advantage of it's true capability? Right now you can pick up a new C7 at a very nice (sometimes steep) discount. If you spend some time looking around there are also some really nice low mileage (in some cases hardly driven) used C7 peachy deals to choose from as well.
I agree with everything you said, and went through the same thought process before settling on a ‘17 Stingray with 7800 miles. I’ve owned a ‘64 Coupe, a 2008 XLR-V, and a 2009 Corvette (base, 3LT). Loved them all, but the C7 is head and shoulders above all of them. A really remarkable jump in stiffness, performance, build quality and interior. Like you, it took me a while to love the design. But a guy at my gym has one and I’d see it daily and I became a big fan. For me, it’s the best looking Corvette ever.
C7 Grandsport the Best Vette IMO. You get the wide body look, while Keeping that Naturally Aspirated V8!! Raw Power. I dont care for FI V8's. So Grandsport, hands down!
that's because you have never driven a mid engine car, I was all set to get a C7 Z06/07 because I drove one and was ruined for my C7 Stingray, then they came with the C8 and I wanted one but was still debating, then my son got a mid engine sports car which I drove, I never want a front engine sports car again the mid engine is so superior in the way/the feel of how it drives and corners you are not following this big hood around you become part of the car it is amazing. I have a C8 Z51 2LT Vert on order and have a deposit down for the Z06 I am 26th in line for a Z06 Vert at one of the 4 largest dealers in the country so I expect to driving it in early 2021, the only way I will stay with the Stingray is if the Z06 comes with a 600 or less HP FPC engine which you have to keep in the 4000rpm and up range to get into the torque band. If it's FPC with turbos and has at least matching low end torque to the Stingray I will definitely get the Z Vert
I recently bought a C7-Z51 with the more exciting manual shift a couple of weeks after about two hours of viewing the C8 on TH-cam and the initial excitement wore off. My C7-Z51 is literally!!! horrifying from 0 -- 60 that reduces to extreme excitement followed by sheer pleasure of driving a very, very cool C7 Corvette Stingray with ground effects etc and a manual. Cops follow me a lot, so I have to resist the temptation to accelerate too often except in certain location and situation like entering a freeway with fast oncoming traffic giving me the excuse to accelerate terrifyingly fast. And it is so very beautiful to just look at in my driveway that I have to force myself to go inside my house. I do not require a Z06 as the Z51 package and standard shifting is quite stimulating to accelerate and drive just for the pleasure of it that is the reason I bought it.
My C7 Z51 is the most exciting car I've owned. Absolutely love the manual trans. Actually love everything about it inside and out. This is my third corvette and enjoyed them all, but to me the C7 is the total package. I have had the opportunity to drive the C8 on and off the track and then decided to purchase a low mileage C7.
Agreed, with every aspect. I'm 55, just bought a new 19 black on black manual. All the power I need. Looks good beside my 80. To me it's not how fast you get there, it's how you arrive. Row them gears.
I agree the C8 is a great car I prefer the C6 n C7 I have owned a 2008 C6zo6 HCI full built I beat a C7 Zo6 with it. I also owned a 2010 Grand sport exhaust. Now I own a 2014 Stingray I have done basic bolt ons intake headers e85 sensor by DSX MSD intake manifold n Katech TB makes 500whp n 500 trq. It is not the wide body but a fun reliable car and very comfortable.
I love my c7 grand sport , especially the my manual transmission. Also impressed with the C8. I beleive they are both iconic. That's why I ordered the new C8 but also plan on keeping C7.
I would say #1 reason is no manual. That’s the only reason I didn’t buy it when the C8 came out, I was so disappointed. But I’m really liking the upcoming C8 z06 so will have to keep both.
I’ve got a C7 Z06 with a manual 7 spd and it’s just bad ass fast but I do like the look of the new C8 so I will prob wait till the new Z06 comes out so I’m saving up now. Hopefully they offer a manual option in the Z06.
May 2023 I bought a 2016 Z06, 3LZ, convertible in Daytona Sunrise Orang Metallic. It is awesome. No disrespect to the C8s, they are awesome, but I like the looks of the C7 better.
With what you have to pay for a C8; it seems to me that the C7 is the last "working mans supercar!" The C7 had to grow on me too. It took me awhile to get past the Camaro looking rear end but it was originally going to be Chevy's first foray into the mid-engine realm before the plan was scraped to wait for the C8 generation so the performance specs are super advanced over the C6. I think the C7 is a beautifully aggressive looking corvette. It has a duel look to it. It can be elegant and aggressive at the same time - *OVERALL A GORGEOUS DESIGN!* I don't care for the C8 at all. I am happy to see Zora Duntov's vision for the Corvette (mid-engine) come to fruition but it should look much better than it does! Personally I think Mr. Duntov would agree with me; may he rest in peace... Oh I think he would be outraged with the price of the C8 and the dealer markups too! The working man has been priced out of the Corvette for the first time - *THANKS GM!*
Correction -- the 1963 C2 was the first mid-engine Corvette (front-mid-engine) and all Corvettes have been mid-engined since then. The C8 is the first production rear-mid-engkne Corvette. Interesting to hear your thoughts on the different models. It's really hard to pick a favourite. I like all of them for different reasons. My dream would be to have a ZR1 some day - C6 or C7 ZR1. Oh man, amazing cars.
FYI if you’re not gonna get right back in it then you shouldn’t cool down the car quickly. It’s the same as warming them up. Metal doesn’t like to change temperature quickly in either direction!
It has been a few years since I did this video and I still love all my old school front engine vettes. But I have to say the C8 has grown on me. You just can't really compared to front engine. Up to 2019 vettes we're still.old school.style.muscle cars. Now they enter the exotic realm
for right now a C7 is a major bang for your buck. i got a 2018 grand sport 3LT with 989 miles for 50K for my 32nd b-day gift ..literally. i was in an out in less than 3hrs. C8 for 60K + i believe is over rated at this point. wait a year or two then upgrade if you like.. for me though the C7 will be my baby for while. she warms my heart every time the garage door opens and i see that quad rear >> : )my 2 cents.
My 2019 GS just got it in may love it went a corvette show in Ohio at the corsa exhaust factory had the Corsa extreme installed , x pipe and dam sounds like a race car love it !

I have owned a C6 z51 Manual and I now own a 2015 C7 Z51 2LT with PDR Automatic White with Red interior C7 is such a better car in everyway Love C7s more then C8s for sure.
C7 all the way. C8 I love too and looks bad ass just thought they steered a bit away from the corvette body that made corvette a corvette. Starting to almost look like a Ferrari which I’m not knocking it at all but I guess we’re so used to seeing our corvette body for so many years
I love the look of the c7. To me it looked like a super car when it first came out. It has a beautiful enterior an I prefer it's screen system compared to the new Corvette. I am not impressed with the rear end on the c8 nor the wheels. The wheels arent that big of a deal.. But the rear end look kinda is. In my opinion I believe the c6 to be the biggest bang for your back with mods similar to yours. If you build it to handle boost on top of that the performance is ridiculous. Now if you want a 1000hp vette, then the c6 Z06 has an amazing motor for that, but stock to 800 id choose a z06 over. The things I dont like about the c6 are the steering wheel and seats, both cheap fixes compared to a CZ Z06 lol.
I had a C7 Z06. It was great, but it it would wiggle like crazy a lot when floored from 0mph to 50mph. The auto was great when it driving hard, but it would take awhile driving normal to race awhile to adjust without putting it manual. But it was fast. I just got my C8 Z51, but haven’t driven it much yet, since I am getting it Ceramic coated. It is more refined in driving. The seats are not as comfortable as the Z06 were. Overall, I am very happy with my C8. The numbers are impressive and that Bose 14 speaker system s phenomenal. I love the looks of the C8 with the high wing a little more. But you can’t go wrong with a C7 or C8.
Im debating on C7 GS/Z06 as the hp per $ is a amazing. The C8 is AMAZING ON TRACK!! I drove it 3 20 min sessions at NCM in 21. My first time with a mid engine and its just nutty how it puts the power down and the steering. I have a 16 ATSV cuz wife was bitchin about me getting a C7 because had to fit the dam dogs in the car. Now kids gone and Im deciding if the dogs can ride on her lap in the C8. Theyre only 20 pounders. The C7 would be more easy but Im thinking of just getting the C8 and keeping the V for road trips. I hate just having a car sit and not being used. Vehicles need to be driven and hard at that. I LOVE THE HP/TQ of the Z06 and I can add a SC to both C7 GS and C8 ( I would have to sell V possibly for the cash on it). Its a hard call.
The brandnew C8 Stingray with 500 HP was slower on the Nurburgring than the older C7 Grand Sport with only 460 HP! A mid-engine car has much more problems in the curves than a front-engine car with a 50:50 weight distribution. A btw, who won the 24 hours race in Daytona 2020 in the GTLM class? A front-engine car (BMW)! Some guys should switch on their brains and cool down with the mid-engine Corvette hype, the previous ones were better (and more beautiful ...).
True. The C7 GS is proven to be faster on the track than the C8 Z51. From a dig the C8 is significantly faster but the C7 GS has a magical blend of power and handling that the C8 Z51 can't match on the track. I also think the C7 GS is the most beautiful Corvette ever made and excites me the most.
I am a C7 ZR1 guy. Standard C8 looks like the car that has a backpack on. I love the lines of the C7 and the additional depth, lines and HP of the ZR1. I want the best to keep and drive and pass on to my son. It will be my wife and I’s vacation car. If I wanted a mid engine I would look at Ferrari but not reasonably priced. I would have to see the C8 ZR1 to change my mind.
I owned a C4, C5 and currently a C6 GS. The C7 rear never grew on me. The 8spd auto has been a problem in C7 and all GM vehicles. I made the mistake of putting C7 Z06 wheels on my C6. After research I see those wheels and C7GS wheels are prone to cracking on nearly brand new cars! Had to order ForgeLine wheels and dump the cracking GM garbage.
I’ve owned a few Corvettes - I’ll be in the market for a C7 Zo6 next year and upgrade from there, BUT I think I’ll always keep my C5 Zo6. There’s just something about it. It’s so raw! Another great video! Thank you for the great content.
I own a c7Z06 and had a 2009 c6 base for 10 years prior to it. I love my c7Z but I think the best bang for buck is still the c6. You can have them for really cheap now and they are still extremely fast and perform well
I have owned numerous C5s including several Z06 as well as a base C6 and C6 Z06. For the money you cant beat a C5 Z06 but the C6 is a notable step up in tech and comfort just not quite as raw as the C5 Z. All are amazing cars in their own right 👍
I purchased my first Corvette last year a black 2010 C6. I like it a lot and it’s works well. It has the Z51 upgrades as well as the mod exhaust. I believe you did the right thing in going with the C7 it’s a great car. My next one will be the C7. Great video Mike.
I like the C6, C7 and C8 Corvette. Design-wise, I think the C7 looks best. I particularly like how the quad exhausts is set up. But I'd still choose the C8 over the others. It is just more exotic, in the sense of the having the engine to the back instead of front of the car.
It is a big step for Chevrolet and Corvette... for me, I have 2 mid engine cars so not as big of a deal and I just think the C7 is a thing of beauty...my opinion

It is something that is subjective, anyways. Besides, you can have possession of something that you were very attracted to, and after a while it just doesn't appear that way anymore. And on the other hand, you may become so attached to something that you were least attracted to. Perhaps it's a lesson being taught here...that we should focus upon the more important qualities of objects. That said, I'd choose the C8 anyday.

Chevrolet has been down this road before, generating a buzz with the resurrected Camaro then once enough people bought the Camaro they found out just how shitty the car really was and fewer people have been buying Camaros ever since
I just traded a 2022 x3mC for a 2023 c8 .. It rides like a Caddy.. and .. its balls to the wall when I need it to be. I have driven my friends c7 z06 .. and I prefer the c8. People come up to me all the time and ask wtf it is!
I'm 51 and I wanted a Corvette since I was kids. I've looked at all years and drove a few. If I were to buy, it would a 2019 C7 Grand Sport 3LT coupe It has the Z06 body style with 200 less hp which does not both me at all.

Ya it really is a bummer that no manual is offered but I get why they did that. I finally saw a C8 on the road the other day and it looked so much like a Ferrari. Not that it's a bad thing but just not what we have know a corvette to be over the past 67 years

I hear ya... I am really enjoying this GS. Had thought about a C6 ZR1 but had a C6 Z06 with heads and cam so it was making similar power and while a beautiful car I found myself drawn back to the C7. Would love to get a C7 ZR1 someday...we will see how much they depreciate.

While not as technically good as a mid engine, just the classic look I prefer. A C7 is the definition of beautiful lines on a car. The C8 is all business. To each their own. The C7's are a brilliant car. Front engine Corvette taken about as far as it can go.Great time right now to buy a C7, tons of cheap NEW cars out there. C8, DCT, mid engine, the wave of the future.....No getting away from that.
Just got into a C7 3LT Z51 Convertible from A C6 3lt Z51 Convertible. Both are awesome cars. Love my C7 but still miss the C6..Not interested in a coupe at all. Don't want to have to put the top in the back manually. Would love to have a C8 but will have to see it in person first...

Savage geese did a review on the C8. Automotive journalist deem the C7 as more of a driver's car; from the transmission to corner entry and exit, the C7 is much more of a raw experience. The C8 is more of a GT car.
Money not an object, I would love a 2019 C7 ZR1. I owned a 1991 ZR-1. They are phenomenal. My '16 Z06 has no traction, I don't know how I would even drive a '19 ZR1, Haha!

I owned my first Corvette new in 1984 since then I've always owned a corvette I currently have a 2015 C7 that I purchased new really enjoy the style and the drive prior to the C7 I had a 2010 C6 also a great car. But here's why you'll own a C8 when your at the gas station putting gas in your C7 and a new C8 pulls in next to yours all of a sudden yours doesn't look so good anymore end of story. Naturally our basic instinct we all want the newer better things" otherwise why get a Iphone 11 when you can still make a call with your Iphone 8
You're right and I didn't say I would NEVER own a C8, I'm just not caught up in all the hype right now. If I buy one I'll wait a few years and let someone else take the depreciation and work the bugs out...then I'll make my move...more than likely!!
After having a C5-6&7 myself I knew you would have to have a C7 back in your fleet. I’m with you and don’t appreciate the C8. My GS C7 is the best one I’ve had.
The C8 is gonna be an amazing car but in my opinion the C7 just looks better. I'm sure I'll own a C8 some day but I'm gonna let somebody else take the depreciation and works all the bugs out first
My main thing about the c8 is....when it was the camouflaged test mule everyone was saying ughhhh that's an ugly design and all that stuff. All they did was slap a coat of paint on that same exact test mule design and presented it to us and everyone was in awe . To me the car looks cheap and I feel Chevy couldve did a lot better with the exterior. The wheel packages are the worst designed wheels ever on a car of this caliber. I've owned a c7 grand sport 1lt and to me the c7 zo6 with the z07 package is the way to go. Just my 2 cents
I won a C7 Z06, and I bought it for one reason, over the C8. It has a 7-speed manual. I also like the classic lines of the C7 over the mid-engine design of the C8. And, apples to apples, it's half the price of a new Z06. The main reason to get a C7 is the excitement of the manual, which the C8 can't reproduce, at any price. If you can't drive, or are too lazy, to drive stick, get the C8

I would have thought C8 prices may drive C7 prices down some but I am seeing the opposite. I am seeing a lot of 2019 Grand Sports at a similar price of a used C8.....
I'm a bit surprised the C7 and 8 market has stayed as strong as it has for sure. I expected prices to also fall as we get more C8 Z06s and with the coming ZR1. It would appear those cars were good investments
I'm just surprised you didn't spring for a manual C7. I've always liked the looks of them and they're probably some of the more practical 2-seater sports cars out there. You can actually daily a C7. I'm sure the C8 will be fun and it will be a YT feeding frenzy from all the usual suspects once they get out there but what would keep me a fan of the C7 is the manual gearbox, honestly.
I own a C5 z51 a C6 ZO6 which I modded after watching your video it has 645 rwhp and drives just like stock I was in the market for a C7 ZO6 just like you I had pulled my deposit on a C8 for the same reasons you stated but then one fell in my lap someone couldn't take delivery its a z51 1lt for 65k k I like each one of them for different reasons but you need to go for a ride in a C8 it really is an awesome car but it is a whole different animal try to imagine are C6 ZO6 with a rear engine and the interior of your C7
Sounds like you got a great deal. I have since ridden passenger in a C8 and seen several up close and have to say I wouldn't mind owning one at some point in the future. I think I want to let the prices come down a bit first so maybe in a few years.

We love our 2023 HTC, we had a C6 convertible and test drove several C7s. Driving a C8 made me buy one, it does everything exceptionally well.
As time has passed I think I may need to own one at some point in the future

I agree the C8 is a great car I prefer the C6 n C7 I have owned a 2008 C6zo6 HCI full built I beat a C7 Zo6 with it. I also owned a 2010 Grand sport exhaust. Now I own a 2014 Stingray I have done basic bolt ons intake headers e85 sensor by DSX MSD intake manifold n Katech TB makes 500whp n 500 trq. It is not the wide body but a fun reliable car and very comfortable.
IMO the C7 is a sexier Vette than the C8. Something just isn't proportionate about the C8.
I’ve never owned a Vette,so I can’t say what’s best. My favorite is the ‘13 ZR1
I love my c7 grand sport , especially the my manual transmission. Also impressed with the C8. I beleive they are both iconic. That's why I ordered the new C8 but also plan on keeping C7.
I would say #1 reason is no manual. That’s the only reason I didn’t buy it when the C8 came out, I was so disappointed. But I’m really liking the upcoming C8 z06 so will have to keep both.
I prefer the c7 8 spd auto but I love the c8 dual clutch. Feels much better than a manual
I’ve got a C7 Z06 with a manual 7 spd and it’s just bad ass fast but I do like the look of the new C8 so I will prob wait till the new Z06 comes out so I’m saving up now. Hopefully they offer a manual option in the Z06.
May 2023 I bought a 2016 Z06, 3LZ, convertible in Daytona Sunrise Orang Metallic. It is awesome. No disrespect to the C8s, they are awesome, but I like the looks of the C7 better.
With what you have to pay for a C8; it seems to me that the C7 is the last "working mans supercar!" The C7 had to grow on me too. It took me awhile to get past the Camaro looking rear end but it was originally going to be Chevy's first foray into the mid-engine realm before the plan was scraped to wait for the C8 generation so the performance specs are super advanced over the C6. I think the C7 is a beautifully aggressive looking corvette. It has a duel look to it. It can be elegant and aggressive at the same time - *OVERALL A GORGEOUS DESIGN!* I don't care for the C8 at all. I am happy to see Zora Duntov's vision for the Corvette (mid-engine) come to fruition but it should look much better than it does! Personally I think Mr. Duntov would agree with me; may he rest in peace...
Oh I think he would be outraged with the price of the C8 and the dealer markups too! The working man has been priced out of the Corvette for the first time - *THANKS GM!*
Correction -- the 1963 C2 was the first mid-engine Corvette (front-mid-engine) and all Corvettes have been mid-engined since then. The C8 is the first production rear-mid-engkne Corvette.

FYI if you’re not gonna get right back in it then you shouldn’t cool down the car quickly. It’s the same as warming them up. Metal doesn’t like to change temperature quickly in either direction!
Love my C7Z06! Bought it new 7 yrs ago and have had zero issues. My buddy bought a new C8 HTC and it's a nice car but not for me.
C8 don’t even look like a corvette
It has been a few years since I did this video and I still love all my old school front engine vettes. But I have to say the C8 has grown on me. You just can't really compared to front engine. Up to 2019 vettes we're still.old school.style.muscle cars. Now they enter the exotic realm

for right now a C7 is a major bang for your buck. i got a 2018 grand sport 3LT with 989 miles for 50K for my 32nd b-day gift ..literally. i was in an out in less than 3hrs. C8 for 60K + i believe is over rated at this point. wait a year or two then upgrade if you like.. for me though the C7 will be my baby for while. she warms my heart every time the garage door opens and i see that quad rear >> : )my 2 cents.

My 2019 GS just got it in may love it went a corvette show in Ohio at the corsa exhaust factory had the Corsa extreme installed , x pipe and dam sounds like a race car love it !

I have owned a C6 z51 Manual and I now own a 2015 C7 Z51 2LT with PDR Automatic White with Red interior C7 is such a better car in everyway Love C7s more then C8s for sure.
As an owner of a Z06 I will say a C7 Grand sport might be the way to go.
I agree i used to love c6 and didnt care for c7 then c7 grew on me and love it now. I take c7 over c8 now.

C7 all the way. C8 I love too and looks bad ass just thought they steered a bit away from the corvette body that made corvette a corvette. Starting to almost look like a Ferrari which I’m not knocking it at all but I guess we’re so used to seeing our corvette body for so many years
I love the look of the c7. To me it looked like a super car when it first came out. It has a beautiful enterior an I prefer it's screen system compared to the new Corvette. I am not impressed with the rear end on the c8 nor the wheels. The wheels arent that big of a deal.. But the rear end look kinda is. In my opinion I believe the c6 to be the biggest bang for your back with mods similar to yours. If you build it to handle boost on top of that the performance is ridiculous. Now if you want a 1000hp vette, then the c6 Z06 has an amazing motor for that, but stock to 800 id choose a z06 over. The things I dont like about the c6 are the steering wheel and seats, both cheap fixes compared to a CZ Z06 lol.
I had a C7 Z06. It was great, but it it would wiggle like crazy a lot when floored from 0mph to 50mph. The auto was great when it driving hard, but it would take awhile driving normal to race awhile to adjust without putting it manual. But it was fast. I just got my C8 Z51, but haven’t driven it much yet, since I am getting it Ceramic coated. It is more refined in driving. The seats are not as comfortable as the Z06 were. Overall, I am very happy with my C8. The numbers are impressive and that Bose 14 speaker system s phenomenal. I love the looks of the C8 with the high wing a little more. But you can’t go wrong with a C7 or C8.

Im debating on C7 GS/Z06 as the hp per $ is a amazing. The C8 is AMAZING ON TRACK!! I drove it 3 20 min sessions at NCM in 21. My first time with a mid engine and its just nutty how it puts the power down and the steering. I have a 16 ATSV cuz wife was bitchin about me getting a C7 because had to fit the dam dogs in the car. Now kids gone and Im deciding if the dogs can ride on her lap in the C8. Theyre only 20 pounders. The C7 would be more easy but Im thinking of just getting the C8 and keeping the V for road trips. I hate just having a car sit and not being used. Vehicles need to be driven and hard at that.
I LOVE THE HP/TQ of the Z06 and I can add a SC to both C7 GS and C8 ( I would have to sell V possibly for the cash on it). Its a hard call.

The brandnew C8 Stingray with 500 HP was slower on the Nurburgring than the older C7 Grand Sport with only 460 HP! A mid-engine car has much more problems in the curves than a front-engine car with a 50:50 weight distribution. A btw, who won the 24 hours race in Daytona 2020 in the GTLM class? A front-engine car (BMW)! Some guys should switch on their brains and cool down with the mid-engine Corvette hype, the previous ones were better (and more beautiful ...).
True. The C7 GS is proven to be faster on the track than the C8 Z51. From a dig the C8 is significantly faster but the C7 GS has a magical blend of power and handling that the C8 Z51 can't match on the track. I also think the C7 GS is the most beautiful Corvette ever made and excites me the most.

I am a C7 ZR1 guy. Standard C8 looks like the car that has a backpack on. I love the lines of the C7 and the additional depth, lines and HP of the ZR1. I want the best to keep and drive and pass on to my son. It will be my wife and I’s vacation car. If I wanted a mid engine I would look at Ferrari but not reasonably priced. I would have to see the C8 ZR1 to change my mind.

I owned a C4, C5 and currently a C6 GS. The C7 rear never grew on me. The 8spd auto has been a problem in C7 and all GM vehicles. I made the mistake of putting C7 Z06 wheels on my C6. After research I see those wheels and C7GS wheels are prone to cracking on nearly brand new cars! Had to order ForgeLine wheels and dump the cracking GM garbage.
I like the C7 but I’ll take my C5 Z06 7 days a week over a C7.
I’ve owned a few Corvettes - I’ll be in the market for a C7 Zo6 next year and upgrade from there, BUT I think I’ll always keep my C5 Zo6. There’s just something about it. It’s so raw! Another great video! Thank you for the great content.

I own a c7Z06 and had a 2009 c6 base for 10 years prior to it. I love my c7Z but I think the best bang for buck is still the c6. You can have them for really cheap now and they are still extremely fast and perform well
I have owned numerous C5s including several Z06 as well as a base C6 and C6 Z06. For the money you cant beat a C5 Z06 but the C6 is a notable step up in tech and comfort just not quite as raw as the C5 Z. All are amazing cars in their own right 👍

I purchased my first Corvette last year a black 2010 C6. I like it a lot and it’s works well. It has the Z51 upgrades as well as the mod exhaust. I believe you did the right thing in going with the C7 it’s a great car. My next one will be the C7. Great video Mike.

I like the C6, C7 and C8 Corvette. Design-wise, I think the C7 looks best. I particularly like how the quad exhausts is set up. But I'd still choose the C8 over the others. It is just more exotic, in the sense of the having the engine to the back instead of front of the car.
It is a big step for Chevrolet and Corvette... for me, I have 2 mid engine cars so not as big of a deal and I just think the C7 is a thing of beauty...my opinion

Sure. But personally, I try to focus upon the more important qualities of objects instead of the way they look. Because, the way an object looks does nothing for me. It is something that is subjective, anyways. Besides, you can have possession of something that you were very attracted to, and after a while it just doesn't appear that way anymore. And on the other hand, you may become so attached to something that you were least attracted to. Perhaps it's a lesson being taught here...that we should focus upon the more important qualities of objects. That said, I'd choose the C8 anyday.

Chevrolet has been down this road before, generating a buzz with the resurrected Camaro then once enough people bought the Camaro they found out just how shitty the car really was and fewer people have been buying Camaros ever since
I just traded a 2022 x3mC for a 2023 c8 .. It rides like a Caddy.. and .. its balls to the wall when I need it to be. I have driven my friends c7 z06 .. and I prefer the c8. People come up to me all the time and ask wtf it is!

I'm 51 and I wanted a Corvette since I was kids. I've looked at all years and drove a few. If I were to buy, it would a 2019 C7 Grand Sport 3LT coupe It has the Z06 body style with 200 less hp which does not both me at all.

C7 Z06 manual. Depreciate like crazy, best bang for buck. I bought a manual stingray z51 with 1500 miles at a decent price. Love that car! Will give it to my kid. Probably will buy a c6 Zr1 at some point.
I hear ya... I am really enjoying this GS. Had thought about a C6 ZR1 but had a C6 Z06 with heads and cam so it was making similar power and while a beautiful car I found myself drawn back to the C7. Would love to get a C7 ZR1 someday...we will see how much they depreciate.

While not as technically good as a mid engine, just the classic look I prefer. A C7 is the definition of beautiful lines on a car. The C8 is all business. To each their own. Just got into a C7 3LT Z51 Convertible from A C6 3lt Z51 Convertible. Both are awesome cars. Love my C7 but still miss the C6..Not interested in a coupe at all. Don't want to have to put the top in the back manually. Would love to have a C8 but will have to see it in person first...

Savage geese did a review on the C8. Automotive journalist deem the C7 as more of a driver's car; from the transmission to corner entry and exit, the C7 is much more of a raw experience. The C8 is more of a GT car.

Money not an object, I would love a 2019 C7 ZR1. I owned a 1991 ZR-1. They are phenomenal. My '16 Z06 has no traction, I don't know how I would even drive a '19 ZR1, Haha!

I owned my first Corvette new in 1984 since then I've always owned a corvette I currently have a 2015 C7 that I purchased new really enjoy the style and the drive prior to the C7 I had a 2010 C6 also a great car. But here's why you'll own a C8 when your at the gas station putting gas in your C7 and a new C8 pulls in next to yours all of a sudden yours doesn't look so good anymore end of story. Naturally our basic instinct we all want the newer better things" otherwise why get a Iphone 11 when you can still make a call with your Iphone 8

My main thing about the c8 is....when it was the camouflaged test mule everyone was saying ughhhh that's an ugly design and all that stuff. All they did was slap a coat of paint on that same exact test mule design and presented it to us and everyone was in awe . To me the car looks cheap and I feel Chevy couldve did a lot better with the exterior. The wheel packages are the worst designed wheels ever on a car of this caliber. I've owned a c7 grand sport 1lt and to me the c7 zo6 with the z07 package is the way to go. Just my 2 cents

I won a C7 Z06, and I bought it for one reason, over the C8. It has a 7-speed manual. I also like the classic lines of the C7 over the mid-engine design of the C8. And, apples to apples, it's half the price of a new Z06. The main reason to get a C7 is the excitement of the manual, which the C8 can't reproduce, at any price. If you can't drive, or are too lazy, to drive stick, get the C8

I'm just surprised you didn't spring for a manual C7. I've always liked the looks of them and they're probably some of the more practical 2-seater sports cars out there. You can actually daily a C7. I'm sure the C8 will be fun and it will be a YT feeding frenzy from all the usual suspects once they get out there but what would keep me a fan of the C7 is the manual gearbox, honestly.

I own a C5 z51 a C6 ZO6 which I modded after watching your video it has 645 rwhp and drives just like stock I was in the market for a C7 ZO6 just like you I had pulled my deposit on a C8 for the same reasons you stated but then one fell in my lap someone couldn't take delivery its a z51 1lt for 65k k I like each one of them for different reasons but you need to go for a ride in a C8 it really is an awesome car but it is a whole different animal try to imagine are C6 ZO6 with a rear engine and the interior of your C7
Sounds like you got a great deal. I have since ridden passenger in a C8 and seen several up close and have to say I wouldn't mind owning one at some point in the future. I think I want to let the prices come down a bit first so maybe in a few years.
