    APR Stage 1 allows you to "launch" by brake torqueing. Somebody with a DSG is going to whine that there is no launch on a ZF8. Funny how the RS7 uses a ZF8 and it has a launch mode. All boils down to someone wants to feel more important. There are MANY German cars that use a ZF8 transmission with launch modes.
    From APR's website:
    Brake Boosting - Left foot braking or brake boosting added
    1. Engine warm
    2. Wheels straight
    3. Dynamic mode on
    4. Traction control off
    5. Press brake hard
    6. Floor throttle
    7. Wait at least 3 seconds and release
    In a non tuned car, you might have to shorten this to 2 seconds or the ECU will cut throttle. Following the procedure above will engage AMAX which will allow higher torque shifting on the 1-2 and the 2-3 lowering 0-60 times.
    I have a Stage 2 Dual Pulley 93 Octane car with an APR CPS and a BG SQ5 TCU tune.

      Looking at a 16 A7 with the supercharged 3.0. Used to have a RWD 17 Q50, tuned with downpipe and muffler delete, but the rear end kicked out on a rainy day and it was a total loss.
      I was getting excited as I read your mod list, but those 0-60 times are pretty lackluster especially considering the A7 has AWD.

      Still going strong. It's been about 1.5 years since I made the video. I will say higher mileage Audi's inherently have a greater risk from more wear. I only have 35k miles now, and that video was done when I had 26k miles.

    I am in your 'neck of the woods'. 2012 Audi A6 with APR stage II dual pully and AWE touring exhaust with resonated down pipes. Should you upgrade to stage II don't bother with single pully, upgrade both pulley's. I have had tune installed almost 5 years now and zero issues. Also, I maintain vehicle in a meticulous manner. Be prepared to become addicted to tuning vehicle. My vehicle is currently for sale and seeking a 2017 A7 competition trim with adaptive cruise (a bit of a unicorn).
    Oh, upgrade the air intake and you will smile every time you get on it with that sweet super charger whine.

    • @LandonMeserve
      @LandonMeserve  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heck yea man, that's awesome! I'm definitely addicted, will most likely get Stage 2 in the next 6 months or so.. This car took me months to find but I was looking for one without the adaptive cruise control because I wanted to replace the A7 bumper with the RS7 immediately. Removing the front bumper requires unplugging those sensors, and recalibrating at Audi is about 600-800 to make sure everything is aligned again.
      Did the roc Euro recently! I need to do a sound clip soon!

    Idk man unless you need to fit 5 people in your car vs 4 you should of gone for a later 17 model or 18 S7.....those later end of year 17 and all of 18 models 4.0tt have the oil screen fix and update and you could leave that car as is....no modding needed. For you to keep up with an S7 ( if that’s what you’re trying to do ) in that A7 you will dump thousands into that car. But A7 is definitely a softer car even in comp trim and is probably more comfortable on road

    • @LandonMeserve
      @LandonMeserve  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Excellent point there. Yea I've got a couple of kiddos to fit in the back but that's it and love the cupholder ordeal in the middle seat. As far as price point, I didn't really feel like spending more than 45K on a car at the moment, and it only took a little over $1k to get enough power to keep up with a stock S7. Good points though, and I'd actually counter the ride comparison if the S7 came with the air suspension like the RS7 does. My aftermarket wheels now made a massive difference, fatter tire and floatier feel for trips.

    • @Todd.T
      @Todd.T 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dump thousands into the car? Not really. IE has some cheap tunes and even APR cut their prices. Now of course I could mod an S6/S7, but that adds to the extra costs I've already paid for the car. We are talking thousands of dollars for cost and taxes and higher insurance and higher operating costs.
      I think you're discounting the fact that the S7 significantly costs more to buy AND to maintain. A Stage 1 IE car on E85 is enough to beat a stock S7 as is an APR DP 93 and faster with a TCU tune. Most people at the track with a stock S6/S7 run 12.3-12.4. There are a string of 3.0T with DP 93 and a TCU that run 11s, some run 11.5. Also you get instant torque with a 3.0 because of the blower. So for driving around, people may like that better because in a city, there is no place to open up a turbo car.
      This is APR testing a 2013 car, not a new one, but it gives you an idea/baseline.
      th-cam.com/video/bXdT4JUae8U/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=APR
      Stage 2 3.0T 93 file for comparison. TCU Tuned. There are faster, but with exhaust mods or E-85
