Yes Han Hong's lyrics are powerful, but then exponentially enhanced by Dimash's expert storytelling and micro-intentional delivery. Everything, from his clothing, hairstyle, facial expressions, gestures - embody the terrified confused child. You don't 'see' his 6'3" frame! 😆What you see and hear is the anguish of the little boy - especially when he shifts his voice into that higher tone. Just a beautiful performance of a deeply moving true story that is dear to Chinese hearts, but touches all hearts. The water effect behind him BTW is referencing the site where the cable car fell, which was right beside a waterfall. 14 people died in that accident in China in 1999. (# In a terrible 'echo' of this, another cable car accident occurred in Sept of 2021 in Italy, where also 14 people died, and the sole survivor was a 6 year old boy...) Again, a failed equipment maintenance issue. # Dimash first sang 'Daybreak' as part of his series of performances in the 2017 Chinese Singer Competition. Interesting to see the comparison, but not a fair one, as he had a throat infection at the time, and on the morning of the performance had completely lost his voice. He was taken to a local hospital where he had treatment and injections (presumably Cortisone?} injected directly into his throat / cords to reduce the swelling. The Doctor was reluctant to authorise him to sing on the day, and sternly told him he "must avoid singing high notes." Dimash!? Yeah RIGHT! { When I watch that performance MY heart is in MY throat - as he pushes this unique precious voice higher and higher. How close was he to damaging his vocal chords permanently!? 👉 This is Dimash's big first solo concert in Astana called ‘Bastau/ Beginning, shortly after the show 'The Singer 2017'. This concert was given to him by his hometown as a welcome home and as a thank you for his huge success in China. 30. 000 people from all over the world took part.
In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! (Only via video) I had to wait a few long years before I could see Dimash live in Prague (2022).
This song based on a true tragic story and is very well known in China. In 1999 14 people died in a cable car accident in China. The parents of a little boy lifted their son to safety, and they themselves died. Original singer and songwriter Han Hong later adopted the child.
Dimash sings with so much pain in his voice it literally tears him apart ... and I can't stop crying.

Un accidente que sucedió en China en 1999, donde un grupo de personas que abordaron un teleférico, diseñado para 12 personas, pero que cargo 36 indebidamente, al regreso se precipito a tierra por la ladera de la montaña. 14 personas murieron, entre ellas un matrimonio que para salvar a su hijo de dos años, lo sostuvieron durante la caída y lo lanzaron lejos del aparato al precipitarse a tierra. El niño se salvó y fue a un orfanato, ese mismo año, Han Hong, una reconocida compositora y cantante en China, supo la historia, adopto al niño y escribió este tema para honrar el sacrificio de una pareja por su hijito, salvándole
Yes Han Hong's lyrics are powerful, but then exponentially enhanced by Dimash's expert storytelling and micro-intentional delivery. Everything, from his clothing, hairstyle, facial expressions, gestures - embody the terrified confused child.
You don't 'see' his 6'3" frame! 😆What you see and hear is the anguish of the little boy - especially when he shifts his voice into that higher tone. Just a beautiful performance of a deeply moving true story that is dear to Chinese hearts, but touches all hearts.
The water effect behind him BTW is referencing the site where the cable car fell, which was right beside a waterfall. 14 people died in that accident in China in 1999. (# In a terrible 'echo' of this, another cable car accident occurred in Sept of 2021 in Italy, where also 14 people died, and the sole survivor was a 6 year old boy...) Again, a failed equipment maintenance issue.
# Dimash first sang 'Daybreak' as part of his series of performances in the 2017 Chinese Singer Competition. Interesting to see the comparison, but not a fair one, as he had a throat infection at the time, and on the morning of the performance had completely lost his voice. He was taken to a local hospital where he had treatment and injections (presumably Cortisone?} injected directly into his throat / cords to reduce the swelling. The Doctor was reluctant to authorise him to sing on the day, and sternly told him he "must avoid singing high notes." Dimash!? Yeah RIGHT!
{ When I watch that performance MY heart is in MY throat - as he pushes this unique precious voice higher and higher. How close was he to damaging his vocal chords permanently!? I don't know - but sends shivers down my spine.}

W jednym z wywiadów Dimash mówił potem że tego dnia - z tym bolącym gardłem pierwszy raz namacalnie poczuł czym jest moc i energia wsparcia widowni i fanów - jak wyszedł na scenę to poczuł, że ta energia płynąca od widowni go wzmocniła na tyle, aby mógł zaśpiewać w takich wysokich nutach. I zrobił to niewiarygodnie!! Ten występ na Bastau jest też niesamowity i czuję dreszcze za każdym razem, jak to oglądam! Przepiękne i wzruszające!
