Hmm, a rare horror movie actually being good? Wow! Also, I respect Jeremy for pointing out the film score (the orchestrated music). This gives me hope.
This last decade has been a tremendous uptick for the horror genre. The 1990s/2000s were extremely rough. We are getting original ideas and somewhat decent sequels.

Saw this at the first showing at my local cinema. Really enjoyed it - the tension definitely mounts throughout. Much much better than Immaculate too (which I saw earlier this week!)
The hand coming out of the vagina was unnecessary. It also suffers the same curse that all prequels suffer: we all know Damian is born and doesn’t die h til he fights Jesus in omen 3 as an adult. There were no stakes
Saw The First Omen last night, loved the fact they actually shot this in Rome. The architecture helps sell the gravitas of what's happening. As for 2024 I'm going to go with Late Night with the Devil but that may be challenged later on by Abigail, Longlegs, Cuckoo, etc.
I *didn't* know anything about that movie going in. Didnt even know its a prequel. And MAN. At the ending i was like "I CAN'T WAIT FOR A SEQUEL DAMN" ... well i guess I'm in for a treat. Bought the trilogy on Amazon 2 hours ago
76 Omen is the best Final Destination film ever and still has perhaps the greatest soundtrack ever, so I’m glad this prequel doesn’t suck I thought Damien’s mother was a donkey, though 😂
Glad you enjoyed it. For me. Evil Dead Rise is the best horror movie of the 2020s. Sure that movie came out back in 2023 but my parents and I really love that movie. Heck it's my all time favorite and I gave it a 10 outta 10. The reason why is because the whole movie is incredibly memorable from the opening, to the cast, the sound design, the makeup/practical effects, the music, and the acting was all great. Plus. I'm very excited for the upcoming sequel. It will start filming near the end of this year and will be releasing to the public next year in October 31st (perfect timing) 2025 and they said that the actresses that played Beth and Cassie will make a return.
Damn I must been only one that thought this movie was pointless and doesn’t add any relevance to the overall franchise 😅 aww well. Glad others enjoyed it. 2/10 for me
Saw it last night and was also completely shocked at how good this movie is. For a directorial debut, this is a good start to a potentially great resume. ❤
I don't know what you're saying. Are you saying that you stayed awake until 6am waiting for this review... because that's dumb. Or are you saying that this 5 minute video was so long that by the time it finished, it was 6am, and thus too late to go to bed now? What are you saying? I can't go to sleep until I find out.
Knowing that its a prequel to a movie that's 48 years old at this point with tagline in the poster confidently saying that it is "the most terrifying movie of the year", it's honestly quite shocking that it has been getting a strong positive buzz, but hey good for them 😂
Not a fan of retconning Damien's birth. The twist with his birth sets up a possible parallel sequel to run alongside the original films. They also made Father Brennan a heroic character when it is clearly shown in the original film that he is marked with the number 666... suggesting he was a part of the conspiracy and was seeking redemption...
You wouldn’t know about anything before it by looking at this one anyway because they changed the jackal birth into a human nun birth. I’m with you on passing on this one.
I'm going to go watch it this weekend thanks to you, J-Bone! I was on the fence, but ya swayed me Edit: Also, I'm glad you said that chick was good in it because she did a great job being creepy in The Servant. The show kinda fizzled after the first season, but she was still awesome in it.
I'm stuck on trying to figure out the continuity on who Damien's mother was like in the OG films his mother was supposedly a Jackal. I don't want to say spoilers but ppl who watched get me right? Like was the thing that was in the fire the "Grandmother" of Damien? Like I had more questions than answers. So many questions. It doesn't give to many answers and it felt more of like an insinuation about his parentage. And, what happens to "others" in the sequels (OG Films) or are they gonna reboot/remake the whole thing?

It's like if they're going to believe in that then vampires, werewolves, ghost, zombies, evil leprechauns, etc... and all of the other sorts of make-believe horror stories are gullible to be believed as well. But again, it kinda does take away a bit of lore of the original franchise...
It wasn't until 1:52 when I realized why I subscribed. For the most obscured references in the business. Top marks👍🏾and well done 👌🏾my friend.
Sir your intro segment earned a sub!
The movie is amazing. Got a lot of graphic though. Arguably the best prequel from a horror franchise. The only thing is that the movie is predictable.
I mean it's a prequel, of course it is predictable.
I mean, the nature of it being a prequel and what it's about, it kinda needs to be at least a bit predictable, definitely regarding the ending.
Also Damien's mum is a jackal.

Wow. Thanks. I was going to skip this, but now probably will not. This review definitely made me want to go see it. Too many prequel’s and sequels of classic films, not to mention remakes have just been cash grabs and disappointments. This does not sound like that.
Hmm, a rare horror movie actually being good? Wow! Also, I respect Jeremy for pointing out the film score (the orchestrated music).
This gives me hope.
The music honestly gives so much atmosphere to the film, it was great
Not so rare. 2022 and 2023 were both fantastic years for horror. This year is finally picking up now it seems
This last decade has been a tremendous uptick for the horror genre. The 1990s/2000s were extremely rough. We are getting original ideas and somewhat decent sequels.
@Outpost31Research totally agree but there's always many people out there thats too skeptical about horror movie?😂 i mean come on,give it a chance dont be too negative lol
I totally agree with you , Jeremy. This film is so much better than I expected! In particular the way the director recreated the 1970s cinematography was remarkable and it gave it this vintage looks from the original film. The story is very well told and actress who played Margaret did an incredible job! 5 stars in my books.
Best thing today...Jeremy's jump scare face. :)
This movie didn't have my curiosity,
now it has my attention.
Thx, Jeremy 👍
The jump scare had me in tears!🤣
Excited for this movie after the reviews which came so late surprisingly. Loved your bit of jump scare and 10 second wait. Well put.
The jumpscare at the very end of the video actually got me
This is my favorite horror film of 2024 by a substantial margin. Terrific review!
But Damian's biological mother was a jackal. It's a major plot point in the first 3 films.
That was my first thought, too. Hopefully it's addressed in some way.
Maybe it's metaphorical lmao.
@@casthedemonits not if you watch the first Omen they find a gravesite in which obtains a jackals skeleton

@@casthedemon its an absolute classic. The first Omen definitely seems like it could work for people who haven’t seen the first movie but i highly recommend seeing the original.

3:18 Jeremy Ju-Ons jump scare warning. You're welcome. 😌
5:41 Here too if you make it that far.
You’re so lame
Jeremy Ju-On! I love it! 😂
@@sunside7 I was trying to figure out a good name for the face he makes during the jump scare, started picturing The Grudge, and as soon as I realized just how perfectly his surname of "Jahns" matches up with "Ju-On," I took it and ran! Glad it's being appreciated. 😎😊
@DJtheBlack-RibbonedRose Oh it was a stroke of genius 😂 Also, thanks for the time stamp for the 2nd jump scare, would have missed it for sure otherwise! I wonder how many other Easter eggs in Jeremy's videos I might have missed. Has this pulled this stuff before?
@@sunside7 Hee hee, thanks. And you're welcome; I wasn't aware of it myself until I read another comment because I stopped the video after Jeremy finished talking, but once I went back and checked, figured I'd add that one too. I'm aware of at least one other video where he made a point about jump-scares by reenacting them, and I do think he may have included one at the very end, but I'd have go back to it and look.
I'm sure it's been said here already, but that great scene you mentioned is a call back to 1981's Possession. It was great here, but you should see the original. It's mind blowing.
Worth buying on VHS. This channel is finally starting to move up in the world 😂
Since VHS is now in the lexicon of Jeremy, then I'd love to see worth buying on Betamax, Laser Disc, and CED.

The Omen is one of my favorite horror films of all time. And I gotta be honest I had low expectations for this movie when I first saw the trailer. But after watching your review I’m gonna have to take your word for it and I will go check it out when I get the chance.
You should do a review on Immaculate. Also a surprisingly very good horror released this year
Loved it! Amazing film. Gorgeous cinematography and THAT scene you talk about after the crash had me mesmerized. Instant classic.
It's all for you, Jeremy...
Jeremy, in a crowded market you are the best movie reviewer!
This is the longest my "want to watch" list has been in years. Thank you, Jeremy. I'll keep this one on the list. ❤
Right? Feels like movies are finally making a comeback. Excited!
This review was hilarious…the jump scare clip 😂 Going to see this tonight after all the good reviews!
Phenomenal series. Enjoy. Do not sleep on Omen 4. TRUST me. Huge longtime fan here.
Wait they have Damien as sm adult?
Everything about this review is great and why I tune in 👏🏻
76 Omen is the best Final Destination film ever and still has perhaps the greatest soundtrack ever, so I’m glad this prequel doesn’t suck
I thought Damien’s mother was a donkey, though 😂

A jump scare inside a review?! Jeremy! You are ahead of your time!! XD
I liked for the cussing, left a comment for The Street Fighter reference.
Damn I must been only one that thought this movie was pointless and doesn’t add any relevance to the overall franchise 😅 aww well. Glad others enjoyed it. 2/10 for me
Don't feel bad.
@@Tomy_Yon it just seemed a lot of other TH-camr praised this movie. I must have missed something
@RejectedHeroesMedia Why? If you had another experience, you can have your opinion. That's perfectly fine.
Saw it last night and was also completely shocked at how good this movie is. For a directorial debut, this is a good start to a potentially great resume. ❤

Bang on review, loved the way it had that old school feel, was like immaculate but way better
Knowing that its a prequel to a movie that's 48 years old at this point with tagline in the poster confidently saying that it is "the most terrifying movie of the year", it's honestly quite shocking that it has been getting a strong positive buzz, but hey good for them 😂
I never get on this channel and not be entertained! 😂😂

Wow, I'm surprised. I love your reviews, we are pretty close in opinion on most things. I guess this is something I may need to check out.
Maybe they should dump the 'Ret' part
I watched it last night, really good movie and your review absolutely nailed it. Just to say Ralph Ineson's voice sounds like he's the possessed one!
You've really grown on me man! I'll watch your reviews even if I have no intention on seeing a movie haha.
Im just out of the cineman and I definitely rated immaculate much higher than this.
you're the only OG movie reviewer that is still watchable. Thank you sir.
Pass. The original omen is good but I don't need to know what happened before it.
You wouldn’t know about anything before it by looking at this one anyway because they changed the jackal birth into a human nun birth. I’m with you on passing on this one.
@@AmaroRay4258it is still a jackal birth tho if you actually watch the movie lmao
I'm going to go watch it this weekend thanks to you, J-Bone! I was on the fence, but ya swayed me
Edit: Also, I'm glad you said that chick was good in it because she did a great job being creepy in The Servant.
