      I got poor balance, coordination and posture after 100mg seroquel for five years. I also gained alot of weight, got enlarged breasts, got impotent, sebhorric dermatitis, severe insomnia and little tardive dyskenisia. I have been medication free for almost six years, but still have this. Am I chronic lobotomized?

      @@Stardust-q9o I’m glad you’re off, and recovering. God bless you. These drugs are awful, and they’re so hard to get off of.

    It's alarming to me how perfectly Laura's experience mirrors my own. I sincerely appreciate her articulate ability to convey what it's really like to lose yourself in diagnosis and then emerge from the clutches of psychiatry. Thank you MIA for sharing this.

    Laura, your input is most helpful and full of hope! Thank you so much! I was on a benzo for 40 YEARS! I am 6 months free from the benzo and in deep pain. I have experienced so much so far. I have lost friends and have found REAL ones who were willing to stay. I have researched and read and viewed material that lead me to question myself and my past as well as consider the future and what it might entail. After watching your videos I have hope and yes, some peace. Thank you and may God bless you richly.

    I applaud you Laura. What a testimony. I understand to a point on how you felt at the tender age of 13yrs old. Way back in my younger days, there was no way to open up to anyone, I had to keep the thoughts to myself that I was insane. I guess in a way that was an escape from what you went through. God bless you, and may I encourage you in your journey from this point on. Stand firm for all those out there who are desperately in need of your journey and realise there is always hope.

    the problem, the categorization of disorders, i think there needs to be a meta-analysis, then the treatment needs to be approached without medication, The problem is understanding people not just modification of symptoms. It shows a lack of understanding. If they just admitted that psyche drugs were not the answer, and were just a form of control, then fair enough, but they end up just sticking people on the drugs and ignoring the deficits in the reality they just have not clarified.

    She is great but I dont believe she didnt have trauma. Emptiness comes from neglect, abuse etc. I'm coming off of psych drugs now and I admit to neglect and abuse. Everyone I know on medicine has had some form of trauma.

      Being raised in society were your value comes from performance, being perfect, good grads, that’s not healthy. I think at very young age Laura had that deep realization of how dehumanizing the social structures are, however she could not see at that age what was causing her suffering. When you born in a cage you think it’s you not a cage that is making you sick.

    • @janebethshimon
      @janebethshimon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good observation. I tend to think that, too. Trauma and Complex PTSD from some form of abuse/neglect. I noticed the same thing on the psych wards where I have spent time. A reaction to life like hers at age 14 does not spring out of a vacuum.

    If a person was correctly diagnosed & medicated for an underlying condition, that condition is not going to magically disappear just because you may decide you want to wean of your meds. BEWARE, most people are on meds for Good Reason & many confuse withdrawal symptoms with relapse. Many people NEVER heal because they are simply experiencing their underlying condition once they have stopped their meds.
    In short: if you don't need meds, don't take them. If you do need them don't stop them, unless you have an airtight plan to manage your original underlying condition
