Dave, this is so impressive! I just love how easily accessible everything is. Good call having a drawer just for the electrical system, so that way, repairs can be made with plenty of space to reach around in. The woodwork is absolutely fantastic, especially the door. The sink is brilliant, being able to remove to tank to fill again and again as well as the motorcycle oil pan drain, again, easily removable to dump the waste water. It's also neat with how you can just fold up the bed in order to use the truck for cargo purposes. Excellent use of space too! You did such nice work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice, sturdy set up. It would be nice if you could include a slide out porch to extend your outdoor space and for extra protection for those nights and days when you want to just sit outside without being on the ground. Not a porch when anyone can just walk up on though. Something like a screened porch. There's a business in my city that sells barbecue from a food truck. They have an attached screen porch that stays up all the time. It allows them to cook and sell their food to customers without coming in direct contact with them.

To the gentleman who is featured in the video - you should really consider making plans available for your build. If you have some alternate configurations make those available as well. I believe you could sell those. Maybe make an overall summary plan available for free and sell the detailed one with measurements and materials list. Also, include your power design. The statement made about vehicle alternator charging being better than solar needs to be pointed out in the plans because people probably think just the opposite.
    Great build!

The cedar wood exterior looks great, but I would opt for a more traditional camper fiberglass or aluminum exterior which would be more weather resistant, but also less "conspicuous" when it comes to bored law enforcement, but more importantly prying eyes and thieves. Also, it would be much lighter.

Nice! The new hybrid Ford maverick pickup coming out should be a top seller...but there are no truck campers that will fit. It gets 40mpg, so you don't want to destroy that, and with a 1500 pound load limit so it can't be too heavy. It has a 400 watt 110 volt power plug. This would be perfect! Now someone needs to manufacture them for those of us that aren't as talented.

The 5 day Coleman ice chest is equal to a $500.00 Yeti plus if you kept your ice in clean containers, you've got drinking water when it melts. If you are traveling you are stopping at a gas station with ice at least 2x a day. A Dometic is not necessary if you are on a tight budget.

The ergonomics are great and details like the fresh and grey water system and slide out electrical cabinet are extremely neat, likewise the wide door and lifting bed panel giving access to the load deck!

There's a lot of efficency in this man's build but I've seen so many people with camper converts that take up obnoxious amounts of space and require extreme amounts of faff for a countertop sink. This makes it seem like a waste of time. Easily transportable and takes up very little space. Cool!

Just a FYI on building wood campers like this. Look up the history of the old woody cars. Jay Leno has some real good info on them. No matter how well you seal wood it changes with humidity and temperature. You will get shrinkage and expansion in normal conditions. In extreme conditions it may be troublesome. Just something to consider.

SMSuperstrat unless you epoxy the whole thing inside and out... (IF you plan on doing that, build it in the desert with wood dried out to the desert standard so that you have no humidity sealed inside the epoxy).
There is a build on TH-cam, a guy built a RV on an old truck chassis... he said it worked perfectly because he “built it like a boat.” He was in the right path, lots of 50 year old wood or wood and fiberglass boat hulls out there still floating....

Thanks for making it clear when this was filmed. I refuse to watch any nomad that don't follow social distancing. We don't need the virus travel nomad to nomad.

@@michaelburke5907 you also might be a bit judgmental? Just my choice not to contribute to people that openly film themselves being socially irresponsible isn't worth watching..just an opinion.

@@joelincolnlincoln6315 We will all get it, but the personal and socially responsible thing is to not be part of the first wave that can overwhelm the medical community and the morticians. Why would you want to be an early virus adopter? Let the medical community find and fine tune treatments. Why would you want to unknowingly bring home death to your family? All the media and government hype saying this only effects those other people (older, pre existing, fat, etc) was just so you wouldn't panic and sell your stocks and stop spending money and crash their economy before they sold their stocks. Don't be an early adopter. Listen between the media narrative.

If you're camping at a site for more than a few days you can get a popup toilet tent for less than $50. where you can place your porta potty and a portable shower apparatus.
