Toohunky, thanks for doing this video. I think this actually clears up alot of questions that many folks had been having about this set. In fact i think there were many who believed this new playset may have been smaller than the original. And this clearly shows this not to be the case. I applaud Mattel for making what I hope to be only the first of playsets in this line.
Awesome! And the original ladder didn't make sense to me until I joined the Coast Guard and learned what Jacobs and caving ladders were! Those actually make more sense for a multi-level castle :-)
Great comparison review! This brings back so many fun memories as my brothers had this and my sister and I had the She-Ra castle. I think my brother actually bought this new version so I'll have to check it out the next time I see him!

I guess now we see the step being used for the Mysteries of Grayskull tentacle monster and Stridor hitching post thing. If point dread ever comes out, this playset is going to have a ton of additional accessories to collect. Fun stuff. Now i hope the slime pit comes out and attaches to a FrightZone. *dreams*
Great review, thank you. It just went on pre-sale on my favorite store here in Brazil, Ri Happy, so I did get it, and it should be delivered in April. I was not sure if I would buy it, as I never had the vintage one, had only Zodak from that time, and was mainly wanting the white sourceress; but your video helped me to dicide to get it. Now I just need to figure out where on my house I will fit that monster of a castle, looks like it will have to share space with my Playmobil figures :D

FYI, I own the Classics version and if you have never experienced it first hand, you are truly missing out on one of the most beautifully sculpted playsets ever to be created. It's breath taking! I know you will be able to sell it for quite a chunk, but please find a way to experience one before you do. You may just change your mind!
Great to see a comparison between the different releases of Castle Grayskull. The artwork on the vintage stickers look better and it also has a darker creepier looks to the face on the front but still love this new version and cool the plastic is more durable and sterdy than the vintage castle, pity they didn't include a few more weapons with it. Its an awesome set and would definitely buy it. 😍💜💪
Must admit that I prefer the original for the most part. The fuller weapons rack and not having the ground floor slightly suspended for some reason makes it for me. The outside of the original Jawbridge is better sculpted too, with more detail. I find that the central floor on the Throne side presses against the computer when the new one is closed as well, causing some tension, wihch isn't a good thing.
I think that floor is elevated to better lock down the elevator when the castle is closed together. The gap allows the protrusions at the base of the elevator to slide in.
@Joe The Dedicated PhD Student and Scholar ... Mattel is licensed for She-Ra. This comes too late for all the Hasbro Marvel Legends female 6 inch figures 2015-2020 I like better than Mattel's attempts again (possibly unless someone compares to any of the many equivalent Hasbro Marvel ones). When Mattel had the D.C. 6 inch action figure line up to 2019 I kept wondering why Mattel females were more masculine and Hasbro females look more feminine in 6 inch action figure designs. Mattel does do sort of good 12 inch dolls but with too many action figure square private area waist area (unlike pre-2015 dolls) meaning Mattel is overly worried about little boy fetishes under the suggestions or complaining of one consumer group vs making a better quality doll for more collectors. As far as the castle to spend this amount of money, making a general castle for any royal fairy tale kings and queens collection (skull gate entrance add-on separate piece) may have sold better for adult customs consumers, I think!

The Classics CG also had the upside down clips. I'm sure it's just a matter popping them off and flipping them right side up.
