A flat white coffee doesn't have any foam at all, your friend is very wrong! I'm glad you did a quick tour of the Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne has markets all over the place but the Queen Victoria Market is the largest and I believe the best one. I must admit I really need to get back into the foodie and cafe scene again but I recommend Fitzroy for food aswell.
Having lived in Beijing and Bangkok for the last 14 years where it's very rare to see blue sky, yes, visiting Melbourne was a like a dream :) Now it's one of my favorite cities around the world, I hope to visit again. Thank you for your warm welcome! Ta
I too travel over the years, mainly Hong Kong, Thailand and Vietnam, and I always look forward to come home to Melbourne, we take advantage of the fresh clean air and the blue sky that other countries wish they have.Melbournians are very welcoming, friendly and down to earth. Also,we have free drinkable fresh water straight from the tap all over Melbourne. You should venture out of the city and travel to some of the very multicultural Asian enclaves like Springvale,Glenn Waverley and Box Hill, more Vietnamese,Malays,Indonesian and Chinese food and Chapel Street, where Italian coffee and food started in Melbourne.Enjoy😊.
I love seeing people come to Melbourne and where they try! So many places even I haven’t been to and I’ve lived here 24 years. So glad you enjoyed it, it’s such a great city 🎉
thank you Bellar for the warm message, everyone I met in Melbourne were so friendly and down-to-earth which is very hard to find in big cities. Yes, it’s the only city that I visited that had all the best and authentic foods from all over Asia plus I loved the coffee culture there as well. Thanks Leslie, have a good week! :)
Yes, Italian brought the Coffee into Australia but there is also Turkish coffee, I only saw and tried them at the Victoria Night Market, the Turkish coffee seems to be more finer grounded than Italian expresso brew much slower, also seems to be stronger.
ah yes! I also tried Turkish coffee else where, I remember it being very strong and more aromatic. Melbourne had such diverse varieties of imported coffee beans & coffe-based drinks, I really enjoyed it!

It has been a long time since I really walked around the city - I usually get in for work and go home XD Coffee is a big deal here and we are much ridiculed for being coffee snobs by the other Australian states haha.
Yes, it usually happens when you live in the same city for a long time. I moved to Bangkok many years ago and I seldom walk around the city now unless friends are visiting but when I do, I find some old and new awesome places that remind me why I came to love this place. Hey Justin, thank you for your encouraging comment!! (Also check out Lune Croissanterie there, it was well worth the wait!). I will make another video about that plus the wine tour in the future. Anyways, I heard you are doing well from Sarah, i hope we will have chance to catch up in person again in BKK, SF or Taipei!
And yes, I love how Melbourne coffee culture also brings people together just like how dimsum / afternoon tea brings people together :) thanks for the message @sweetwaterdream and have a great weekend!
LLB in 1880s, not 1980’s.. it’s been around and served in Australia for 140 years +
thank you for correcting me, I love LLB! I want to try making it at home.
I agree, for taste, I can’t tell the difference between latte and flat white! 😅
yes, to be honest, in terms of taste, I couldn't really tell the difference but the texture of the foam did feel a little bit smoother in the mouth.
What a lovely videoo😊 Can you tell me where did you stay in melbourne, please recommend for the airbnb, thank youu
Anywhere in the CBD will put you close to all the locations that he went.
Thanks so much! Sure, I just looked up my past reservation, this is the 1st airbnb we stayed in www.airbnb.com/rooms/15350855 (bit smaller than the photos/little bit of train noise but other than that very convenient location and nice place). hope you enjoy it! :)
thanks Samuel :) both CBD and St. Kilda area were both beautiful and well connected.
soooo makes me wanna go!
Yeah, I bet you'll like staying in Melbourne for long-term Richard hyung!

Looks Yummy and costly Hmmm
It was yummy! and you are right.... a bit costly compared to Bangkok. I would love to go again!
Do you mind to share your accomodation link in melbourne?

Omg noooo, you went to the worst coffee places, that flat white at Brunetti was dreadful. If you want a good coffee in melb cbd: Patricia, Dukes, Vacation, Bench, Everyday coffee, Two Conversations, Overlay, Market Lane so many options but not Brunetti and not Degraves lane
yes, it did feel like it was a spot for many tourists...but the coffee there was still better than the ones we get in many coffee shops in Asia hehe. Thank you for the recommendations, I will note them down for next time I get to visit Melbourne! (the locals know all the best places :) I want to try REAL good flatwhite next time!
We have the best coffee
I have to agree :)
Show everyone the prices
good idea (my friends and I share the cost of everything at the end of the trip (we pay and log in info at different places) so unless the place is unusually cheap or way over-priced, I don't usually mention the price.. anyways if I remember to take photos/videos of the price, will try to put them up in future videos
@@TJStories my point is because everything is overpriced. It’s ridiculous
@@korranis1 yes you are right, inflation affecting everywhere. Even in Bangkok (where I live) everything is getting more and more expensive unfortunately :(
How come you could speak Mandarin?
I studied Chinese at my university in the U.S. then lived in Beijing for a few years :)
if they are only making their flat whites with one shot of espresso that's not a true flat white
That's good to know! I hope I can try more flat white to be able to tell the real ones apart from imitation ones, hehe Thanks :)
Do not continue watching without the Taiwan flag
sorry I don't understand what you mean... I'm a Korean guy living overseas
